How beautiful.
I wish I lived there.
It's like a Winter Wonderland.
Have any of you seen it in person?

I’m gonna put on my ruby red slippers, and go there and sing ‘Somewhere Over The Rainbow’.

Very cool! I've never been there but I did see the movie with Marilyn Monroe.

Niagara Falls is impressive, but living in Buffalo is not

What causes the water to be those colors? Does it only occur during winter?

^ Huh?
Um, they're called lights

We got to the falls on the Canada side. Looked at it for about 5 minutes and was bored. The town around it was the tackiest tourist trap I've even seen. I couldn't wait to leave.

It's such a shame they didn't establish national parks on both sides of the border around the spectacular falls...
by Anonymous | reply 8 | January 20, 2022 7:12 PM |
Doesn't that use a lot of food color?

I'm from upstate NY and in the 90s in college on weekends sometimes me and a bunch of friends would drive to the Canadian side of the Falls to drink before we hit 21. We'd rent a hotel room and get blitzed in town, stumble over and look at the Falls, and then go pass out, five to a bed. I've seen this shit a million times. It's actually very pretty, but there is not a ton to do there otherwise, it's true.
I also once did this trip with a boyfriend and have a really fond memory of us tearing a NF hotel room apart with our wild weekend-long fuck fest. Oh to be 20 again.

i saw it in person. It's okay.

You really should go, you could cosplay Marilyn in "Niagara" if you get bored

It’s ok. Canada is ok. The New York state park is nice but the US side is a giant dump. I wonder if the night lights mess up migrating birds?

^ I would guess no more then airport lights or Buffalo city lights
