R6 I feel the same, and I'm MORE than middle-aged. Something about her. She'll be great as Ronnie. Wait though....can she sing? I think someone can play Ronnie and do their own singing if they're adequate. She was a great pop artist, her voice was distinctive but not world-class.

Ronnie reminds me a little of Liza - a similar fizzy energy, eternally girlish.

I know producers prefer to hire popular, established actors for these things but I’d much rather see an unknown who actually resembles RS play her. She had a very unique beauty.

I wouldn't mind if they use the original Ronettes recordings and have her lip-sync. I'm bound to hate a 21st century reproduction of the Wall of Sound more than I'll hate any actress playing Ronnie. Can you imagine trying to replace this opening with the talent of today (to say nothing of Ronnie's crisp, yet vulnerable, vocal)?

I hear the Queen is up to play Helen Mirren in the biopic.
