by Anonymousreply 2January 18, 2022 6:53 PM

I'd get out of that Las Vegas hospital and check in to Cedars.

by Anonymousreply 3January 18, 2022 6:55 PM

"The good news ... Louie's rep, Glenn Schwartz, says the comedian is resting comfortably in his hospital bed."

I doubt Louie has rested comfortably in years, with or without cancer.

by Anonymousreply 4January 18, 2022 6:58 PM

He has lost weight. I love Louie, he is wonderful. I hope he recovers.

by Anonymousreply 5January 18, 2022 6:59 PM

i thought he was a kiddie diddler.

by Anonymousreply 6January 18, 2022 7:05 PM

The hell you say. The man was the PICTURE of health. :eye roll:

by Anonymousreply 7January 18, 2022 7:07 PM

Link, r6?

by Anonymousreply 8January 18, 2022 7:09 PM

Poor Louie someone tried to blackmail him for a gay encounter. They set up a sting on the blackmailer at a dinner. The day it hit the papers was the say of his mother's funeral. That's how all he relations found out he was a homosexual. AWKWARRRRD!

by Anonymousreply 9January 18, 2022 7:09 PM

His gender-bending role on FX's Baskets is an all-time great TV performance. I wish him well.

by Anonymousreply 10January 18, 2022 7:12 PM

Rally, Loni!!! We will always love WKRP!

by Anonymousreply 11January 18, 2022 7:12 PM

I grew up watching Life With Louie followed by Little Rosie. This is like learning that he is in St. Jude’s Hospital for Sick Kids.

by Anonymousreply 12January 18, 2022 7:18 PM

Oh no fuck you 2022 you can’t have him.

by Anonymousreply 13January 18, 2022 7:20 PM

Why does anyone think this is clever or funny? Ever heard of Google?

by Anonymousreply 14January 18, 2022 7:25 PM

Will be come out before he dies? Or has he came out?

by Anonymousreply 15January 18, 2022 7:26 PM

Aww, I love Christine Baskets, and his stint as the lawyer on Search Party.

The lawyer actually said, “Say something nice at my funeral.” And “I probably won’t be alive next year.” on a few occasions.

I’m guessing Louie shared the end was night to the creators.

by Anonymousreply 16January 18, 2022 7:28 PM

Did she finish transitioning? or am I think of someone else?

by Anonymousreply 17January 18, 2022 7:28 PM

R17 You are thinking of Jazz Jennings.

by Anonymousreply 18January 18, 2022 8:06 PM

Another Life with Louie watcher here. My brother used to love imitating his voice, it was big news in our houseful when he got to host Family Feud.

by Anonymousreply 19January 18, 2022 8:10 PM

How can I make this about me?

by Anonymousreply 20January 18, 2022 8:15 PM

His standup about stubbing his toe and the cat's response was very, very funny.

by Anonymousreply 21January 18, 2022 8:18 PM

[quote]Rally, Loni!!! We will always love WKRP!

LOL! I think SMG should be a special correspondent for Larry King. (Who has been notably absent of late with celebs dropping like flies.)

by Anonymousreply 22January 18, 2022 8:19 PM

R22 Larry King? Larry's been dead to DL for just about a year now.

by Anonymousreply 23January 18, 2022 8:24 PM

Dear God, R23.

by Anonymousreply 24January 18, 2022 8:32 PM

[quote]i thought he was a kiddie diddler.

No, he sexually harassed a coworker. Can you imagine the humiliation of being hit on by Louie Anderson???

by Anonymousreply 25January 18, 2022 8:43 PM

The tragedy is to have your career die before you do.

by Anonymousreply 26January 18, 2022 9:01 PM

Will nothing stop Mary-Kate and Ashley's reign of terror?

by Anonymousreply 27January 18, 2022 9:04 PM

Louie has been dead in my universe since the early 90s.

by Anonymousreply 28January 18, 2022 9:12 PM

^but I'm happy he's still alive and hope he pulls through.

by Anonymousreply 29January 18, 2022 9:13 PM

Who is the girl in the [R33] clip? She appears distraught, uncomfortable, and on the verge of tears.

by Anonymousreply 43January 19, 2022 5:49 PM

That's Martha Kelly. I think she has tense facial expressions.

I'll never forget- one night back in the '80s he was hosting Friday Night Videos with a female comedian, who was dressing up as an imitating various celebrities. Maybe it was Judy Tenuta or the white Julie Brown.

Anyway, they came back from commercial, and she was dressed as Cher Bono. Louie had just released his autobiography, which was very sad. But since she was dressed in character, she really had to choice but go with it. Louie goes "I'm an adult child of an alcoholic." And, Judy, doing Cher, goes "Woah, babe. Wooo"

Another of my happiest childhood memories is gone.

by Anonymousreply 56January 23, 2022 10:59 PM

Years ago I was in a mostly empty café in West Hollywood, dining solo. In came Louie, by himself. The waiter queens all said, "Hello, Louie" (he clearly was a regular). I was fine dining by myself but he seemed rather sad.

by Anonymousreply 57January 23, 2022 11:33 PM

I loved Life With Louie his kid's cartoon. I was 20 years old and loved to watch it when I came home from the bars. It was really deep for a kid's show. Louie had a good heart

by Anonymousreply 58January 23, 2022 11:37 PM

[R56] hold on to those memories and visit them often. Be happy and grateful for the love and humor Louie shared with the world. I’m glad he was here.
