Passengers are told not to use electronic devices during the flight. What the hell were the two Northwest pilots doing using their laptops in the cockpit during the cruise phase of a flight? They were going over bids for routes. They became distracted and the aircraft flew many miles beyond the point where it was supposed to begin descending to its destination.

I find it amazing that the FCC couldn't coordinate with the FAA during the many years of development. It's truly baffling and head smacking.
