The Power of the Dog was the best movie of 2021

I totally agree! Kodi deserves that Oscar like no other this year.

If it wins Best Picture I won't be mad.

Azor (Swiss film) was also excellent if obscure. I was happy to see it on the NYT list for films that deserve an Oscar nod for best picture of the year.

Well, it was no Lost Daughter thankfully.

I feel bad to say this since everyone loves it but I did not.

It was the kind of movie Celluloid Closet bemoaned. The psychotic gay who was to die by the end.

[ R3 ] Azor was fantastic. One of the years best. What's most impressive is that it is a debut feature film. An intelligent and engaging thriller.

Also was quite impressed with The Power of the Dog and Jane Campion's direction.

Benedick was so repulsively sexy.

The Celluloid closet is quite dated, we’ve gone full circle, gays can be dead psychos again, especially if there’s Oscar potential.

I finally saw The Power Of The Dog yesterday. I absolutely loved it. It was like Days Of Heaven meets a thriller.

I must say that I am really surprised at the Kirsten Dunst criticism. It's a GREAT role and I can now see her winning this.

If the film took every award, I would be thrilled.

I watched it twice as I did somehow miss some key plot points (and researched online why I was so confused)

Its all there in the film.

9/10 and I hope it wins everything.

The only other film this year that I +thoroughly+ enjoyed that wasn't a slasher was Last Night In Soho- which won't be nominated for shit.

I hated the Ricky/Lucy film and have yet to see House of Gucci.

Hated it.

If it helps, also hated The Lost Daughter and Being the Ricardos and The Hand of God as well.

Nice scenery but boring film.

I still can’t believe they didn’t get Celine Dion to do a song for the end credits.

The first half is boring. I liked Don't Look Up much better.

We loved it and weren't bored at all.

The film was neutered. Kodi should have been sucking. There should have been fucking.
