This is a rather obvious rhetorical question, but isn't it true that some people will have some work done, and stop there. Others have the same small-ish amount done, and it becomes an addiction. It's like one procedure is too much and then Pete Burnsville isn't enough.

I've only met her once -but I spent a fair amount of time with her. This was when she was touring in Chicago. I had a friend in the cast, so we hung out and she joined us. She was extremely nice, and there was no sign of surgery then. She still had wonderful, youthful skin and a figure most women would die for. Lord knows she was cast for her name value rather than her singing, dancing, or acting -but that said, she was at least competent with all three and while not in the league of her castmates, she did not embarrass herself (which is more than can be said of many of the "stars" who've slid in and out of that show).

She's 67 now, and she has lived by her looks her whole life. Can you blame her for clinging a bit to what was, rather than embracing the inevitable decline? She just needs to find her own Letch Feeley...

For extremely good looking people, living on looks dies between 50 and 60. She needed to come to terms with this around age 55 when all the scaffolding and smoke and mirrors were holding.

It’s gotta be tough for her. For so long, her name was shorthand for extreme beauty. It’s a losing game, ultimately.

I read an interview with her about 5 years ago, and she sticks to an insane calorie-restricted diet. It sounded like her daily ration was a tomato, some lettuce leaves and rice cracker.

I'm sure she's had work done too, but I'd say Bernadette's looks have primarily been maintained at the cost of enjoying life.

I've known people with eating habits like that and they looked raisin faced apple dolls so that can't be it.

In nothing short of a miraculous stroke of luck, Ukraine, Europe and indeed the world dodged a catastrophe by avoiding a massive meltdown in the Russian assault on the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant last week.

There are three other plants in Ukraine, and Russian forces have reportedly seized a second one. Will there be another near disaster? Will we be so lucky next time? We can’t afford to find out.

Every Ukrainian life lost in this unwarranted invasion would be for nothing if the land Ukrainians love is contaminated with radiation and uninhabitable. It would be an unthinkable loss for Russians, too, and a meltdown could result in mass evacuations in Europe, as radiation knows no boundaries.

Releases of radioactivity from spent fuel pools, dry casks and under the six reactor domes at Zaporizhzhia — and the resulting casualties — could dwarf the 1986 Chernobyl nightmare.

Aside from all-out nuclear war, nuclear plant meltdowns pose the greatest risk of radiation exposure. An international expert panel is urgently needed to develop rules protecting nuclear plants during warfare. We can’t just hope we’ll be so lucky next time; this is a game of Russian roulette the world can’t afford to play!

Old age should be about dignity and grace and wisdom. These women like Madonna and Christie are an embarrassment. They don’t deserve to age because tbey reject its meaning so implicitly.

Yet, they will proclaim..."Embrace your age! Ageism." By doing all those procedures to try to look 20 or 30, is such hypocrisy....because they can't accept that they're pushing 70 now. How is that aging gracefully?

Aging evolves with every generation. A 50 year-old today looks nothing like a 50 year-old in the 80’s or 90’s.

Look at Disco Sally. She was in her 70’s when she was at Studio 54. My Grandmother is 81 and looks 10-15 years younger than Sally. Sally looked like todays 90+ year old.

Madonna and Christie are women of the 80’s and 90’s. The idea that these women would turn into graceful old ladies is a way crazier idea than the surgery they get.

No one today is interested in aging gracefully. Women are in their 60’s with long colored hair.

It just is what it is now. Instead of judging it, accept it.

The trick is a sweet spot of not looking like an alien or Mr. Magoo. Nothing wrong in a procedure, just don't overboard and have it done tastefully. I would get a facelift if I could afford it. I don't need to look like a 20 year old, though.

She got Joker face a long time and and it's never really gone away, and a few years ago she finally got tiny little Kenny Rogers eyes. The "official" Datalounge line is that she looks great and her plastic surgery was never overdone, but that doesn't seem to be true. When she manages the makeup and facial expressions just right, she's fine, but she regularly ends up looking like this.

I see no evidence of any work being done.
