Please tell us the highlights as I don't have 90 minutes to spare.

Was there a sequel Winter of My Siberian Soldier?

Where’s my German soldier?

How was it not know what a bad actress Kristy MacNichols was and yet they still gave her all these parts? The only thing she was passable in was White Dog, because she seemed like someone who’d have a racist pet.

You made me giggle, R4.

I loved this as a teenager, but tried to watch it a few months ago and couldn't last more than about 40 minutes into it. The German soldier isn't all that hot, for one thing.

Isn't the German soldier played by an American homosexual?
by Anonymous | reply 7 | January 14, 2022 11:21 PM |
R5 of course because you're R4.

Verdammt!
Verdammt!
Verdammt!

This reminds me of "Summer of My German Legwarmers" which appeared years ago on DL in a thread about tv movies.

R4 her character in White Dog didn't have a racist past. She unwittingly rescued a dog from a shelter that was trained to attack black people. Pay attention much?

R1 What highlights. It's dreary, by the numbers and not the least compelling with second string TV actors for the most part.

Whatever the season, Davison was heiß!

R11 As I stated she had a racist pet, not past, and yes Kristy strikes me as the type to have a racist pet- and knowingly.

Shame on you. Esther Rolle wasn't B-list TV.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | January 15, 2022 10:41 AM |
Bruce Davison isn't gay but might as well be. I agree he wasn't hot as a nazi soldier. But I think that was on purpose, to have a soft boy be the nazi private.
I posted it because I remember when it was on TV when I was a kid and everyone spoke about it. There is a small but enduring genre of "sleeping with the enemy soldier" movies, some kid fab and some also quite scandalous, and this was tepid stuff.

Well, it was no A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, that’s for sure.

R14 she didn't know the pet was trained to attack blacks

r8 is trained to accuse posters of being other people.

Surprisingly good and Esther Rolle and Kristy MacNichols were good in it.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | January 15, 2022 6:11 PM |
I thought Davison was hot. I became a fan of his after seeing this a kid.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | January 18, 2022 8:57 PM |
Another vote for Davison being hot in this. Wasted on Kristy, of course.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | January 18, 2022 9:28 PM |
Davison was good in Last Summer. He and Richard Thomas bared their asses!
by Anonymous | reply 23 | January 31, 2022 3:58 AM |
I read this when I was young and thought it was quite sad. I read it as a gay metaphor without it being outwardly expressed that way.
The idea of it now turns my stomach especially when we have literal fat Nazis in this country itching to re-install the dumbest, most vile Nazi that lived in the WH again.
