This story was originally broken some time ago in the Herald's "Sydney Confidential" column, which is gossip about celebrities and "society" (such as it is in Sydney). That (and the DataLounge) is where it belongs. It has no place in the news. Jones's history with young men is well known to anyone who cares -- much-acclaimed and -awarded investigative reporter Chris Masters wrote a book years ago called Jonestown about Jones's undue influence on Sydney politics etc, which gave biographical background and in doing so followed him from his period as Rugby coach at a Sydney private high school to his arrest in the UK for "cottaging". The hypocrisy it displays may be seen in many, many other areas of his life and work.

If Whatsis is repulsed by what people say about a young man (or, indeed, woman) moving in with a rich, influential old man and enjoying all the blandishments of life with him, then he shouldn't have done it. It's not as if this has never happened before in the world -- a middle-school kid could tell you what people would say. Gold-digging without fucking (if that's even possible) is arguably worse than gold-digging with it, Jake.
