2022 isn’t fucking around. So many dead celebs already.

Yet Rupert Murdoch, Dick Cheney and Vladimir Putin still live.

Phil Spector died almost exactly one year ago.
Weird.

R5, Dick Cheney was spared so he & his daughter could be the only republicans to be at the Capitol for the 1/6 anniversary.

Her book tells all and is hard to put down.
RIP

It is a great celeb autobiography, R8, and I’m usually bored by nonfiction
She used to play Christmas shows at one of the casinos in CT (though the past two years were canceled because of COVID). I’m kicking myself now for not going. RIP.

Why the fuck is everyone dying?
Anyway Rip Ronnie. Guess I'll go listen to "Be my baby " and remember how much I envied you because David Bowie had a huge crush on you. Rest easy!

Damn! Who the hell pissed in the grim reaper's cocoa puffs? And I was just singing another bites the dust....
Joyous passage

Awww. I liked her.

I've been a major fan of Ronnie's from way back. For many years Ronnie Spector gave a Christmas show and Darlene Love had a New Years Eve show at The Bottom Line in Greenwich Village.

Here's a 20-year-old Ronnie with her younger sister and even younger cousin on American Bandstand and interviewed by a youthful Dick Clark. These girls had beautiful figures!
It's so sad that the monstrous Phil Spector destroyed this talented woman's career and much of her life. But he didn't succeed at extinguishing her natural warmth and upbeat personality completey. I hope she's at peace.

That one is grayed out, R16.
I don't post on grayed out threads.

She just couldn’t imagine going on without Betty White.

Because they're old.

Didn't see that one coming. Ronnie Spector was a living doll. Sad.
Rest in Peace, Ms. Spector.

I'm glad they're together again. Someone needs to sing an addendum to that great old classic song "Rock and Roll Heaven" that fields the past 48 years.

Ronnie is my favorite Irish/Black/Native American of all time. A great singer, a great front woman and someone in her prime I would go straight for. I'm shocked that drag queens the world over haven't tried to emulate her.

Did you even listen to the interview? Ronnie was 18 at the time and sister Estelle was her OLDER sister (19). Nedra - the only surviving member of the group now - was 17. Estelle died a while ago after a long bout with mental illness. When they were inducted to the RRHOF in 2007, Estelle was able to attend but was not well enough to perform (she was substituted by a much younger singer).
