For someone to die by strangulation, the strangler has to actively strangle for at least 2-3 minutes.
The strangleee will pass out in about 10 seconds but for death the strangle has to continue on and on.
That's some fucked up rage, to sit there choking an unconscious person for 2 or more minutes. Try strangling a pillow, squeezing hard, for 2 minutes. It's a fucking looonng time.
