There Were No Gay Characters On "Full House" - Why?

The show was set in San Francisco - yet there wasn't a single gay character on that show, not even in a one off

Why?

Weren't the three 'dads' in a polyamory relationship?

They started out with three single men living together, I thought they were going for a gay theme but they headed in a different direction.

majorities were a minority on minority shows, minorities were a minority on majority shows

and besides they lived in the burbs and rarely any further than their own backyards. Even in SF there were areas with a minimal display of visible homos.

r3 sure, and all of harry potter was gay. well, one villain and then some creepy old guy that was too obsessed with tweens and putting them in danger. and possibly a house elf or two.

R4 You could tell he was a flaming little bottom even on the show. Her other friend the biracial girl was a little dyke.

by Anonymousreply 8January 10, 2022 8:54 PM

It was a "family" show with a large audience of youth and teens...there are no gays in family San Francisco.

[quote] there are no gays in family San Francisco.

That is not true as there were many gay and lesbian families raising children.

It would have been a "very special episode" to have a show about "Janey has two mommies"
