The kids weren’t adopted. Richards wife is his cousin, who was adopted at birth and there was no blood relation. However, when karen found out, she was freaked out and upset by it.

It is R4. He supposedly had composition skills but has instead basically almost done nothing but remix their catalogue. It's odd since he truly does know piano and keyboards.

What does Dionne Warwick know about Karen Carpenter and yet unbelievably keeps to herself? She's spoken highly of Karen Carpenter for years and years but leaves well enough alone with Richard. Apparently that all started years ago. The Carpenters did some Burt Bacharach covers (including a really good medley) and Dionne Warwick was at first taken aback that they would dare try it since she was his muse and all but she met Karen Carpenter and they wound up becoming friends just all the same. This has always been shocking to me because Lady Dionne of Warwick can be a stone cold diva.

In my view, someone like Dionne Warwick remaining just that loyal to Karen but giving fuckall about Richard says something.

The weird thing is that the remixes aren't that much different from the originals.

It wasn't as if he were reinventing the songs.

What he should have done was to have qualified people take the songs and re-think them for a subsequent generation.

Didn't Dionne guest on Richard's solo album?

Whenever I recall Petula Clark saying that Karen was rather wide hipped, I chuckle inwardly.

The Little Girl Blue biography suggests that there was something strange going on in the household when Richard and Karen were kids, and not just the fact that the parents thought the sun shone out of Richard's ass and basically ignored Karen.

All I know is that many years ago I read a comment by someone who grew up near and was friends with the Carpenter kids. She wouldn't go into detail, but she said that family had lots of hidden secrets.
