LOL! This woman’s sob story is hilarious.

This NYMag article from December has a good summation of her crimes (scroll down for her portion).

She apparently didn’t cooperate with authorities initially and didn’t show up for court dates because she thought she was a celebrity. What an idiot.

“When the video appeared on TMZ, it was headlined ‘Karen Goes on Homophobic Rant During L.A. Protest.’ If anyone had fallen on Lolli, it was not caught on video; there was only a man behind a camera saying, ‘They fell on her dog.’ The Yelp page for Gina’s Eyelashes and Skincare filled up with reviews like, ‘If you want tarantula lashes and a corpse complexion, please call this bigot for your next KKK gathering.’ And: ‘Whether it’s a big gala fundraiser for gay conversion camps or just staying in to relax and call the police on my black neighbors, I know I’ll be gorgeous and feel confident. Thanks Gina.’ There were so many, fueled further by news stories about the comments themselves, that Yelp suspended new ones. The charges of homophobia did not make sense to Gina. How could she be homophobic if she worked in beauty in L.A.?”

I read the New York Magazine piece. Gina is a supremely stupid woman with some very serious emotional issues of the exact kind that will never, ever get any kind of treatment or resolution. There are millions in the US who dealt with what many consider "mild" child abuse and who didn't get a good public education, and who were victimized in some way (with Gina, through basically trafficking herself, probably to get away from the dad who hit her) and we have this weird narrative of someone like that being strong and self-reliant and pulling themselves up by their own bootstraps.
These are often the same people who think a broken, abusive prison system is fine because anyone who is in prison deserves to be treated that way, and they've now discovered how wrong they were. But they almost certainly think THEY PERSONALLY do not deserve to be treated that way, everyone else does.
Of course, Gina's experience in prison is going to make her emotional state worse. You can see in r3's quote that she was already somewhat removed from reality before getting involved in the coup attempt.

She’s a bizarre cross between Brenda Dickson and Victoria Jackson.

Somewhat??

I can’t help it; I feel sorry for these people. They were indoctrinated online and then coerced by dump. Their lives are ruined and dump waddled off to his Florida resort completely unscathed.

Thanks for that link, R1.
Very interesting.
An in depth look at 3 of the people who were at the Capitol that day.
Not what I expected.

I know most of them are utterly ignorant and many of them are mentally feeble, but I really can’t muster up much sympathy for them. I’m still pissed at them for what they did and the ugliness of everything MAGA makes me despise anyone who falls for it. Lock her up.

They are as much to be pitied as the Germans in 1945 who said "We did not know." when asked why they allowed the Nazis to build death camps in their towns.

Fuuuuuuuck HER.

[quote]Somewhat??
Yeah. It's pretty clear in the article that before she started getting into the anti-masker and conservative movement that she was more stable, emotionally speaking, than afterwards. She'd gone from being a somewhat typically excitable middle-aged beauty salon type to getting roped into group hysteria and hate.
She doesn't realize she's not the gay-friendly LA fashion lady anymore, but a crazy-eyed hateful piece of shit who calls people "faggot" as an insult all the time. She doesn't realize she's changed. That's a marked difference in emotional and mental state than the lady described early in the story as the one worried about her stolen dog.
I know the cheap and easy "somewhat??" reply is too much to resist for some people, but in this case, it doesn't apply.

I always see the Edina Monsoon character in American women like this. Except they’re unfunny and dreary.

Of course she realizes it, r12, do not make excuses for bad behavior.
