Years ago I dared to mention that I wished Cathy Moriarty was on the poster and I caused an enormous uproar from what turned out to be a large contingent of indignant Dataloungers who didn't think she DESERVED to be on the poster.

For years I thought she WAS on the poster and had dyed her hair darker only to find out it was Terri Hatcher.

Kline and Field had surprisingly good chemistry. The daughter-dad subplot was cringe-y. Otherwise very forgettable but mildly amusing.

SHUE is so awful. She hasnt a funny bone in her body. Most of the rest of the casting was so great but she was AWFUL.

I agree that Shue was terrible. If the rest of the cast hadn’t been so good she would have ruined the movie.

I’ve seen recently that the trans brigade is trying to cancel this movie for deadnaming Montana but that shit was funny.

I might be the only person on the planet who thought Shue was fine in this, particularly when she blows up about her turban too.

But it's Kathy who really sells this thing and RDJ as her eye-candy not-quite-victim.

Kathy absolutely deserved a spot on the poster. She's the principal antagonist.

I think they were talking about Kathy Najimy not being on the poster---K. Moriarity is on the poster (the tranny villian).

if i remember correctly, Cathy Moriarty had a scheduling conflict with the poster shoot and thats why she wasn't on the poster. Its clear from the design that she probably should have been in the teri hatcher spot. back then those shoots could cost $100k or more and while she's legendary in this movie, the studio probably didnt care if she made it on to the poster or not and certainly wouldnt have paid extra to accomodate her schedule

Kevin Kline was perfect. Whatever movie he's made, I'm watching it. He doesn't get his due.

I think Shue is a good actress. She can be funny (Adventures in Babysitting) but her role is not much to work with and is a plot device.

Kevin Kline and Cathy Moriarty are absolute perfection in this. I think Kline is just as funny in this as he is in A Fish Called Wanda.

Funny how the movie is a comedy about behind-the-scenes drama in Hollywood, and the opening sequence is basically the same as Singin' in the Rain.
