Former fattie alcoholic loses weight, leaves her kind & loyal husband during a manic episode to get some BBC, and she has a blown-out voice. She’s not empowered, she’s a looney selfish cunt. Another example of how we now justify all bad behavior by women as “taking charge of her life”.
Let’s be honest about Adele
by Anonymous | reply 73 | January 3, 2022 1:28 AM |
Well - she needed to take control of her weight, which was always her major issue. Instead, she blamed everything else around her. She actually said in her interview that weight wasn't the issue. Ummm.,....yes it was.
It's common for overweight people to dump their former lives / relationships when they get thin. Same thing with alcoholics. They don't want to be reminded of what they used to be and want a 'fresh start'.
She has spoken very highly of her ex, so she's not as bad as you portray her - I like her quite a bit. She acknowledges her faults.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | January 2, 2022 4:00 PM |
OP has set her boundaries!
by Anonymous | reply 2 | January 2, 2022 4:08 PM |
She's boring.

I thought we were supposed to go easy on her.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | January 2, 2022 4:52 PM |
R1 yeah it would be different if she was going after the guy, but I haven’t seen her do that. Taylor Swift and how she uses her relationships is much more concerning to me.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | January 2, 2022 4:55 PM |
r1 also frequent usage of amphetamine usage among those that lose a massive amount of weight in a short time, they don't typically have the coping or lifestyle skills to maintain their new weight and often seek out unhealthy ways to maintain it exasperating many of the underlining mental health issues associated with obesity. The added problem of celebrity (and/or economic success, or image conscious jobs) makes it worse. there are also more pressures for women in this scenario but we can point out similar issues among many males, especially celebrities that have lost weight this way and lost their minds along with it -and one also finds it with others among the cliche of poor self esteem demographics and what happens when they obtain 'power' - like nerds with successful startups.

Supposedly she just bought Stallone’s Beverly Park house for $58m.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | January 2, 2022 6:16 PM |
I finally realized what/who she is. Her voice is extremely irritating. She has the babyish drawl sound to her voice and it's in all the commercials.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | January 2, 2022 6:17 PM |
Hasn't she gained back?
by Anonymous | reply 9 | January 2, 2022 6:29 PM |
I could never get over how ugly her ex is….He is just gross…This kills any romantic mood and reflects very badly on the power of judgment of the ‚‘for me it isn’t over‘ chanteuse….
by Anonymous | reply 10 | January 2, 2022 6:36 PM |
Btw, her forehead has been looking super scary since the weight loss….
by Anonymous | reply 11 | January 2, 2022 6:38 PM |
[quote] Hasn't she gained back?
Yes, which supports her explanation that she dropped weight from working out like 3 times a day for her anxiety. She’s been away from her gym because of her new album, so she’s gaining it back quickly. Doing her Vegas residency, she’ll probably be back to her boxing gym.

We as gays must admit that her latest work for Vogue was a huge serve (British more do than US).
by Anonymous | reply 20 | January 2, 2022 7:14 PM |
I would like more of her music if it weren’t so damned overwrought and semi-depressing. I always feel listless after listening to one of her albums.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | January 2, 2022 7:16 PM |
Let's be honest OP, you don't even believe what you wrote.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | January 2, 2022 7:19 PM |
R21, "overwrought" is a good way to describe her lyrics / music.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | January 2, 2022 7:20 PM |
Although she has a very rich and powerful voice, she really is a one-trick pony. Her songs mostly sound the same and are a bit of a slog. They require a lot of patience to get through.
She showed some comic talent when she hosted SNL last year; she should think about branching out into acting, because her ability to sell records is going to flame out soon.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | January 2, 2022 7:26 PM |
I always find her lyrics to be somewhat of a word-salad. She needs an editor or something. Look at every 'hit' she has had and then read the lyrics. I shouldn't have to read or listen to something 10 times to try and decipher what the fuck she's talking about.
People say it's deep - no, it's not. She has a lot of talent but if she could just work on being more comprehensible.
I think I may be the only person who feels this way about her songs. People just sing along like they make sense and are so deep and multi-layered - meanwhile I'm like 'what did she just say?'
by Anonymous | reply 25 | January 2, 2022 7:31 PM |
Agree about the comedy. She was surprisingly good on SNL. Her Oprah interview was cringe.

It’s THEN, R2.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | January 2, 2022 7:44 PM |
I think OP makes a valid point (if we’re actually going to deconstruct Adele for whatever reason).
Yes, great voice, nice songs. But, she’s crass, tends to like being vulgar, she’s made her fame off singing about unrequited love but has admittedly blown off one (or was it two?) marriages, the last one being with, by all accounts, a man who really loved and cared for her. She got the excess weight off, which is great. But for someone preaching. “empowerment” and “living her truth”, it’s fair to say she’s very likely lying about taking it off through workout and diet alone. If she’s really done that, we would have seen interviews of her proudly showing her workout routine, etc. Not that weight loss surgery isn’t hard, but it’s certainly not the results of a year’s dedication to living at a gym and changing your lifestyle the hard way. And that speaks to her lack of honesty and how she might say anything to gain her fame and money.
If she were a man, all of that and more would have been more routinely questioned. Especially the breakup part. Men are never, EVER allowed to leave a relationship with a woman due to needing to “find themselves” or falling out of love”. They are, no matter the circumstances, the cold hearted aggressors. If they cheat, they’re “monsters”. If they leave open and honestly, they’re “monsters”. If the woman leaves them, it’s because the man was a “monster”.
But, Adele sings songs all the ladies “feel”. She wears pretty clothes and talks in hollow sound bites, so she gets worshiped.

Her latest album is a complete snooze.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | January 2, 2022 10:46 PM |
I think her latest album is her best and by far her most interesting.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | January 2, 2022 10:51 PM |
The fact that the sales of her latest album have been so underwhelming is a testament to the fact that the public is getting sick and tired of Adele. I expected her to sell [italic] at least [/italic] a million and a half copies of 30 in the first week, but she's sold less than that [italic] to date. [/italic] The album isn't a bomb by any stretch of the imagination, but when comparing it to the diamond certified previous albums of 21 and 25, it's an immense drop off.
Clearly it's not just that people aren't buying music, because they weren't buying music when 25 came out either. She's lost her audience and she'll never gain them back. The Daily Fail Frau brigade, the majority of her fan base, turned on her when she lost weight and went "Hollywood." Casual listeners have seemed to have ditched her as well. In the long run, R24 is correct. She should try other career ventures like doing a comedic role in a movie because the music sales will keep plunging and she will get lambasted for it in the unforgiving tabloid press.
Follow the route of Susan Boyle. No one cares about her music anymore, but she still finds a way to work and stay somewhat relevant.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | January 2, 2022 11:14 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 51 | January 2, 2022 11:29 PM |
Adele has hit the level of success where she's unrelatable. The weight loss, LA mansion, Oprah interview and Las Vegas residency seal the deal.
It happens to all of them. Watch her go on Ellen and do one of those idiotic hidden camera, remote mike segments to show what a great sense of humor she has.
Billie Eilish is next.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | January 2, 2022 11:35 PM |
Although she's lost weight, she's still too tall and big-boned to be a leading actress, especially in anything romantic. She would look like a linebacker in drag next to Timothee Chalamet or Tom Holland. She could play the funny sidekick in a rom-com, but that's about it.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | January 2, 2022 11:35 PM |
r50 yes, but that would be true of most we could compare her with. But Moyet was another one that lost her voice with weight loss and is remembered more for her fat work than her yoyoing thin. of course though, I suppose we could argue it's more the other side with going a bit too posh and coming off a bit more cunty as time went on.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | January 2, 2022 11:38 PM |
She’s not trying to be an actress, though, she just likes to write songs and sing them and lots of people like to listen to her do that.
I’m not sure who the best past comparison would be: a recording artist known more for strength of voice than for musical innovation, but who did write her own music and sold a fuckton of albums, who made a big splash but while not really changing the musical landscape for other artists? Whitney Houston?
by Anonymous | reply 55 | January 2, 2022 11:39 PM |

This new album is just evidence she's begun to believe her own hype. I've given it a few listens to give it a fair chance & each time all I've heard are unnecessarily long, tuneless songs with way too many words & too little structure. All the glowing reviews leading up to its release are proof that music critics are greatly "influenced". There's no way anyone familiar with quality could get through this album without needing a nap.

R48 Who else would you compare her to? Cass Elliot is the only other person I can think of and she never sold Adele type record numbers. She did, however, branch out into other ventures before she died. Adele should consider doing the same.
R49 Susan Boyle was far more relevant than Alison Moyet.
