Yesterday, I did a Golden Girls marathon in tribute to Betty White and they mentioned THE JOURNEY OF NATTY GANN in one of the episodes. I remembered watching and liking that film as a kid and was wondering whatever became of the girl.

The only shocking thing about this is that Patton Oswalt has a wife.

The TRAs are always eager to eat their own for little to no reason. If you don't immediately trash a decades-long friendship because the TRAs disapprove of said friend, you become their enemy and there's no going back, ever.

Sometimes I wonder — did I and others cutting them off make them dig their heels in deeper, fuel their ignorance with a nitro-boost of resentment and spite?

I’m an LGBTQ ally. I’m a loyal friend. There’s friction in those traits that I need to reconcile myself, and not let cause feels of betrayal in ANYONE else. And I’m sorry, truly sorry, that I didn’t consider the hurt this would cause. Or the DEPTH of that hurt. I’ve been messaging a lot on IG today, and the back and forth has really helped guide me in the writing of this.

I’m going to give Oswalt the benefit of the doubt here, and argue that if Meredith is a good person, the marriage could be a really good thing for him and his daughter. If the first wife was an addict, their lives were likely chaotic or unstable. It is entirely possible for the second wife to step in and be a good mother figure for a grieving child. She might bring light and love into their home. I know a few people who absolutely adore their step-parents. Sometimes they’re better than bio parents.

Or it could be a disaster, who knows? I really hope Meredith is a good person.

I don't think Patton's first wife Michelle necessarily kept the home fires burning towards the end of her life. She spent a lot of time in bed writing and apparently they texted one another within their home. She had a bad back and was using Fentanyl patches. Michelle was seemingly "deep" and focused on her writing and blog.

The second wife seems more high-spirited and maybe it was just a relief to Patton to have a romantic relationship again.
