Rumour has it in the UK that Harry has slipped back into his home country and left his wife.
Rumour or Not? Has Harry Left Meghan Markle?

If anyone has inside knowledge, please share.
Remember that Meghan recently arranged a pap shot shortly before Christmas. It was taken in Montecito.
A review of her history shows that she typically arranges pap shots when Harry is in the UK.

It is strange how she seemed to captivate him so thoroughly, so quickly.
He's really just a weak guy with little to no sense of self. He's like a liquid that takes the shape of whatever container he's placed in - nothing of substance to hold his shape on his own.

Harry will never leave her. She is his new mommy.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | December 31, 2021 3:53 AM |
Asking DLers what they’ve heard about this. At this point it is definitely a rumor (for those in the US).
1) My cousin has a girlfriend who works for the RF. She is nothing if but discreet.. However around Christmas they had a bust-up and she blurted that the stress levels had gone through the roof at her job because “he” was back here “playing up again”. When cousin and girlfriend calmed, my cousin questioned her and she denied ever saying anything.
2) There are commenters on recent news articles stating that Harry returned over the holidays to the UK. I have not seen them myself (unable to pull them up on phone, if anyone finds them, would appreciate a link or post....),but they are related to a recent Express article about The Harkles.
3) Posts on LSA have also reported this with rumours that Harry is staying at one of Elton John’s properties. I did not know this, but EJ has properties proximal to both Windsor palace and B’ham palace.
Meghan’s MO is to have pap shots taken (of herself +son) when Harry leaves for the UK. It seemed odd that she had a pap shot arranged recently in Montecito....shortly before Christmas.
In one of their last public appearances together at The Intrepid event, Meghan kept attempting to pull Harry away from others as she is wont to do. Usually Harry follows her physical commands, but at this event, he uncharacteristically brushed her off. The body language was clear then: he was not following her lead.
Lastly, the couple has been quiet since their Christmas photo was released. The Christmas photo was taken, though, in the summer. No Spotify news or usual PR updates as to how they spent their holiday or will spend New Years.

by Anonymous | reply 25 | December 31, 2021 4:29 AM |
I could care less about William.
No, it is not a distraction on my end. But a curiosity. Sense that if The Harkles separate, the announcement will come suddenly.....and “surprisingly” (for some); yet there will have been subtleties hinting at the undertones.
Just wondering if this is the case here, or a bunch of off coincidences? Generally asking if anyone else has any information out there to support or negate the above?

Hahahaha, did not even think of this, but the timing could not be worse, no. (Or better depending on the perspective.)
If there is any shred of truth to this, I can imagine that this holiday has been utter shite for HMTQ. Between Covid, her health, the loss of her husband, Andrew’s issue heightened by the Maxwell verdict, and then The Harkles’ issues....she certainly has her hands full.
I don’t know how much stock to place on these things, but one tarot reader did a reading of How The Queen’s 2021 Holiday Was Going To Be.....and the cards/reading was “Terrible”.

Makes sense, Chaos. I did not realise that Philip’s will was sealed and those words used as a justification.
I did also hear - pre-Meghan - that Harry impregnated someone working for him in the UK. Don’t know what became of the pregnancy, though.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | December 31, 2021 9:07 AM |
I guess it's not unrealistic that he's staying at one of Elton's properties, hanging around & trying to get an audience with the family while they freeze him out. If he's left Megs, it's because he's driving her nuts & she's happy to rid of him for awhile while he tries to make nice with Granny before she goes to the Big Throne In the Sky. If he really *left* her, the leaks from "friends" about his cruelty to her would be all over the place

That being said, his behavior at the Intrepid Gala was, ummm, interesting indeed. I guess he was pissed off his wife had again stolen the limelight from him. One must not forget it was him who was supposed to be the important one at this gala, not his wife.

[QUOTE] Princess Marina of Greece was the only classic beauty to marry in in the 20th century.
She actually had a crooked lower half of her face, a trait she passed onto her daughter DL fave Princess Alexandra, who frequently appears as if she has just smelt a ripe fart.
Princess Marina benefited from sympathetic photographers like Cecil Beaton, who did glamour shots of her from her best angles with perfect lighting- in those sessions she looked like a million bucks as did her husband The Duke of Kent.
by Anonymous | reply 71 | December 31, 2021 12:31 PM |
Princess Marina looked like a Picasso painting.
I think he may have gone to visit but he hasn’t left the marriage. The marriage will end when Meghan decides.
If he DID go, who convinced him? It can’t be easy, returning to hostile territory. And it’s true, you can never go home again.
by Anonymous | reply 72 | December 31, 2021 12:54 PM |
He may go back home when the marriage goes south (which is just a matter of time imho), but you know what they say: Trust is like a mirror -- you can't fix it when it's broken.
IF he went back to the UK after having divorced Meghan, Harry will be given a nice abode and a nice sum of money to keep quiet for the rest of his life. He wouldn't be given a senior role within the RF; that ship has sailed quite some time ago. He might have been welcomed back if he had refrained from babbling on Oprah, but he has irredeemably fallen from grace with the shit he and his wife have been telling in that "interview".

by Anonymous | reply 76 | December 31, 2021 1:38 PM |
This isn't true. If we know about it, the Mail knows about it and every other British newspaper. It is the scoop of the year - even if he was just back in the country. They all have sources. They would know if he was here. They would know if there were any unusual movements of the royal family (as there would be in the case of a frail elderly woman circling the drain.) The Mail would run a rumour story if there was only just credible rumours.
by Anonymous | reply 77 | December 31, 2021 2:38 PM |
If Harry is back in the UK, it's probably to secure some sort of agreement regarding titles before the release of his book, where he will no doubt burn it all to the ground.

R77 is right. If there were an inkling of Harry being in the UK, it would blow up. In fact, I wouldn't be surprise if the Mail sees our little DL post and runs a story based on it. This kind of stuff can't stay quiet. Someone would leak.

"Wokeness" (which should at its heart mean "a simple desire to live equitably and help model equity is how society works") is a marketing/self-marketing concept for personal gain, both monetary and in "brand value." Period. And it operates both by self-promotion activities and by openly criticizing others for the benefit of added and extended social-media inclusion.
And the word itself also has shaded to be a right-wing dismissal of social equity concerns.

by Anonymous | reply 90 | December 31, 2021 6:57 PM |
^ Indeed, R87.
While I like to think journalists have measure of the duo - and Daily Mail would be thrilled to break the news of a break up - Megs and Harry can work on the Downlow then suddenly pop up with something. That’s how they tend to roll.
So, if Haz is back in the UK, there could be several reasons why. That said, leaving his immediate family (and newborn’s first Christmas) would be a tad unusual. I sense H would keep things very, very quiet until he had his ducks in a row and his family involved to assist him with a separation.....if that were the case. Because let’s face it, there would be a UK media feeding frenzy.
Meghan is stupid, but she can be cunning and vengeful. Certainly she would do things in the press, but not until she perceived it would benefit HER.
On some level, she (or those around her), has to appreciate that much of the public finds her loathsome.

What he may be trying to lock down are HRHs for his children after the Queen dies--getting assurance from Charles that new letters patent denying the HRH to the children of younger sons won't go forward. Or, if such letters are drawn up, it won't be until later in Charles' reign and the Sussex children will be grandfathered in.

Re: the William affair rumour has been discussed at length in numerous threads...it didn't happen. The rumour was traced back by Andrew Morton and Robert Lacey to some gossip journalist who had never even met William before and posted about it as a hoax on Twitter. The tension between Rose and Kate allegedly started because one of Rose's kids was picking on George and Kate was upset. They couple have made up and have been seen out and about together since.

r5 Harry has been a prince since he was born, it seems unlikely that he never ran into any manipulative women who wanted to marry into the BRF. It is quite likely he dated at least a few but for some reason you and others want to believe that Meghan possessed some powerful quality that the others did not that she could use to control him completely. Make this make sense.

Perhaps not.
Though he doesn’t look so thrilled with her. The last gala they attended together, his body language spoke volumes when interacting with her. He was shrugging off her clawing arm.
Given that they are a hellish combination, it would be fascinating to be a fly on the wall in their genuine life together.

Disagree. Their kids don’t seem to factor much in the lives of The Sussexes.
Recall Harry leaving for The Netherlands 72 hours after his firstborn son was birthed?
Or what about Meghan? Travelling intercontinentally to watch tennis shortly after the birth of her first newborn? When she would have been in the early stages of breast feeding.....and she flashed Alex Ohanian (Serena’s ) hubby with her vajajay?

R105, I hadn’t seen that before, so thanks for posting. I was skeptical that she had done anything even close, but I see that she has. Even if she didn’t show any actual chocha, the act of splaying her legs like that while seated in public is louche enough. Would Michelle Obama have done that?

Yeah, I don’t think he’ll leave her. Look at his American corollary, Alex Baldwin. He’s doubled down with his pretty psycho. He LIKES it.
The only thing is that Harry is a royal and his entitlement is deeply ingrained. He’s used to having things his way, and isn’t used to actually working as Baldwin has had to (and, to be fair, still does).
by Anonymous | reply 107 | December 31, 2021 9:10 PM |
^ The photo isn’t a full one, but it’s hilarious to see the faces of Alex and Meghan captured in the moment.
Alex appears startled. Meghan has the smug Cat-That-Ate-The-Cream look she frequently exhibits.
Though, she’s done the flashy bit before during her royaling-of-78-days-tenure. Incredibly, while she was pregnant, she participated in an onstage conference with world leaders and gave the populace a Basic-Instinct-Sharon-Stone look.
It was vile.

My hunch is if the marriage ends it will because Meghan leaves him, and in typical Meghan fashion she'll hurl vague accusations of him doing something horrific. Harry being the idiot he is, will try to return to the UK unsure why is family slams the door in his face.

R121 it astounds me that a journalist (albeit a shitty one) who’s written for major publications, would think that publicly wishing death on a public figure is an okay thing to do. The only explanation I can think of besides incredible stupidity and lack of decency/ kindness on the journalist’s part, is that she feels emboldened to go after anyone who’s not considered to be the victim class. That’d obviously be anyone who’s not black, judging by how she kisses Meghan’s ass simply because Meghan recently self-identified as black.
by Anonymous | reply 122 | January 1, 2022 4:00 PM |
There is no way Harry would leave Meghan. He has way too much skin in the game with her, and to do so he would have to admit everyone was right about her all along. That would never happen. Meghan on the other hand, would likely start to leaking to the press when she's ready to leave. I could see her even doing some sad looking pap walks with the kids. I don't think it will be any time soon. She hasn't squeezed all she can out of it.
by Anonymous | reply 123 | January 1, 2022 4:01 PM |
Meghan will do an Amgelina when she wants out and accuse Harry of abusing the kids. He has a history of anfger issues and an unstable personality so he won't be hard to set up.
But Megz is over 40 now, with two kids, and pathetic as Hazza may be, I don't see many other options for her - professionally or romantically. She'll cling to him.

I echo the opinion of R73. And I don't know if many of you have forgotten about COVID. We are drowning in it in the US at this point. I cannot believe there is any way Harry would be let anywhere near his grandmother for any visit. The most he would get is a phone or video call and it is unclear to me whether that is even an option. HM takes advice but she still makes the decisions regarding her own life and family. He was a favorite at one time as was Andrew. Even with any sort of communication, as R73 notes, it won't change much for Harry as his relationship with the RF is permanently broken.

I think it's probably gone too far to redeem Harry. Unless he comes out of the divorce as the victim, somehow and then finds a nice second wife for a nice second act. But he had such a hand in the damage done prior there isn't much room for forgiveness, if any.
by Anonymous | reply 129 | January 1, 2022 10:44 PM |
I’m going against the crowd: I believe Harry will leave Meghan, and not the other way around.
He’s used to being one of the most beloved members of the royal family. That changed—dramatically—after marrying Meghan. He’s not a stable person—he’s spoiled, entitled and reckless. He also seems to have an issue with alcohol—and maybe drugs (which, no doubt, he sneaks when she’s not looking.)
He will gravitate away scolding mommy to someone he can have fun with. That ain’t Meghan “I thought of killing myself and my unborn baby every day” Markle.
I remember reading somewhere a person describing why Charles chose Camilla over Diana: “Camilla makes him laugh. She gives him a boost while Diana is always unhappy and tears him down.”
Harry will realize that it will only raise his coinage to ditch M. I suspect she’s getting desperate. Her insecurity is surfacing in public appearances, where she clutches and clings to him and doesn’t let him out of her sight.
2022 is the year when dueling books—autobio of Harry and bio of Meghan—will be publish. Harry’s book—written during a period when he was spitting flames at his daily—will cause new explosions. And the Meghan bio—written by an investigative journalist—is certain to uncover many nasty truths. (To be fair to Meghan, if an investigative journalist was writing about any of our lives they’d uncover lots of sordid stuff!)
This mess will play out against the backdrop of the beloved Queen’s Jubilee and will not be well received by any but the most ardent H/M admirers.
So, after the pummeling they’re sure to get this year, Im guessing that Harry hightails it to Africa or other place of comfort on a “humanitarian” mission and fails to return home.
Even the most well adjusted couples would be hard pressed to weather this much scrutiny and turmoil. It’s going to end—and end quickly—and Harry will pull the plug. (Don’t forget—Meghan lives to be the victim— so allowing H to leave the marriage will give her the role of a lifetime!) It will lead to the divorce to end all divorces because there’s no way in hell Meghan will go easily.
by Anonymous | reply 130 | January 1, 2022 11:50 PM |
Harry has nothing to apologize for. He did no damage. It’s progress. The “Royal Family” is an archaic concept and should be disbanded when Queenie Liz dies.
Because no one is going to forget Charles’ racism. He can’t ascend the throne now. It’s the perfect time to get rid of the whole thing.

A more interesting rumour, now carried by the TIMES as well as the idiot Express, is that the Harkles are selling the mansion in Montecito, that they like the neighbourhood but are disenchanted with the house.
This was something you could see coming. They probably need money, want to downsize so they don't constantly get slammed when they talk about climate change, and figure they can make a killing on the current real estate market.
I tell you, Meghan is a true shark: she has to keep moving or she dies. Poor Archie - this would be his fourth move in two years. Frogmore, then Canada and Tyler Perry's place, then the 16 bathroom Montecito place, and he isn't even three yet.

R139 Indeed. For the British upper classes, Windsor is to London what Greenwich or Chappaqua are to NYC.
Real country is the Norfolk shore where Sandringham is and where the Cambridgescwere given their stately Not London home, or Balmoral, or Gloucestershire where Charles and Anne have homes, or Herefordshire on the Welsh order.
Then there's the Cotswolds, but lately, my dear, it is just INFECTED with the nouveau riche celebrity crowd. Why, you might as well buy a place in the Hamptons!
Kidding aside, when the Harkles are on the move, it usually means the game is afoot again.

Scoobie doobie don't!
"It is a time-honoured tradition in journalism, used to convey anything from a government spokesman talking off-record to, in some unethical quarters, made-up quotes.
But unnamed “sources” will no longer speak for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, their team have promised.
The Sussexes’ communications team at Archewell will speak on the record or not at all, as fans of the couple are warned to pay no heed to mystery “sources” claiming to talk for them in the press."
"Anonymous “friends” have long been speaking about the Duke and Duchess, with some genuine associates doing so in a bid to protect Meghan against what they considered unfair coverage elsewhere.
Her recent court case against the Mail on Sunday arose from a handwritten letter to her father first revealed by anonymous friends in People magazine in the US.
The article saw five friends telling “the truth” about the Duchess in February 2019, after a series of articles alleging she had behaved badly while at the palace.
"Forget the fact of who she's married to: She was royalty from the day I met her," said one. "The way she carries herself, interacts with people, is how you would expect an actual royal to behave. She personifies elegance, grace, philanthropy."
Another said: "She can make a five-star meal out of the garbage in your refrigerator."
After the birth of Archie Mountbatten-Windsor in 2019, a source told Harper’s Bazaar magazine: “The baby is the most peaceful, placid child you’ll ever meet. They are so proud but probably quite relieved to have gotten the photos out the way … They’re rather tired!”
And when his little sister Lilibet arrived earlier this year, a source told US Weekly: "Harry adores Lili and loves reading her bedtime stories and rocking her to sleep. Every day just gets happier."

For a start, the Harkles PR put those figure outs - it is extremely unlikely they were paid anything like that when you compare to other celebrities rumoured fugures. Secondly, they wouldn't have paid it upfront, but rather an advance - same with Netflix.
They seem to love spending, but in celebrity terms, they don't have loads of cash and they're burning through it. I think he probably doesn't have much left and they don't seem to have many prospects.
by Anonymous | reply 176 | January 2, 2022 6:33 PM |

Meghan has always wanted the A-list Hollywood lifestyle. She thought Harry was her ticket to that, but once she realized being a Royal involves a great deal of public service and putting the spotlight on others, as well as following a set list of rules, she was done.
If Brad Pitt came calling, she'd be out the door and Fed-Exing Harry her wedding rings in five minutes.
If she's looking for her next step up the ladder, LA probably has more opportunities to meet rich and influential men than Montecito does. There are rich and influential men in Montecito, of course, but it seems the social set up there has shut the Sussexes out.
by Anonymous | reply 178 | January 2, 2022 6:34 PM |
Wasn't the Spotify deal made before the Oprah interview aired and the Sussexes showed their true colors? I can see Spotify advancing them a few million on good faith--at the time, Harry and Meghan seemed like a great bet. That all fell apart quickly, of course.
by Anonymous | reply 179 | January 2, 2022 6:35 PM |
Spotify doesn’t care about “true colors,” or else they wouldn’t still have Joe Rogan on their platform. Their plan seems to be total market domination by snatching up indie podcasters plus celebrities, which to me explains why they valued signing Meghan and Harry even if they produce only minimal content—because they’re producing that (one) episode on Spotify. The podcast world right now is pretty fascinating and in a weird transition period.
by Anonymous | reply 180 | January 2, 2022 6:38 PM |
Meghan has gotten an international profile and two Royal kids out of Harry. There's not much else to get, especially since the money well must be running dry and the glitz of being a Duchess is fast dimming now that the BRF has shut them out.
I think Meghan is waiting to see how the public reacts to Harry's autobiography. If that leads to more ridicule, she'll be gone and switching to a brave-single-mom-escaping-an-abusive-marriage narrative. If the public sympathizes with Harry and it leads to more positive publicity and more opportunities for them to get publicity and money, she'll stay put.
by Anonymous | reply 181 | January 2, 2022 6:39 PM |
After the Montecito mansion purchase, a DLer with knowledge of Santa Barbara real estate said that it's not the actual purchase price and mortgage that is the only burden, although that's a factor.
The poster also pointed out, aptly, what every home-owner knows, whether you live in a single-wide or mansion. That is, taxes, monthly bills and general, ongoing maintenance are costs that never end and for a mansion like that, the costs must be astronomical.
That DLer pointed out that the monthly landscaping alone on the Sussex mansion probably easily runs in to thousands of dollars in annual costs.
Now there are two children that, I'm guessing, won't be going to free, public schools, they have other things that they have to devote their money to and "the right" private schools aren't cheap.
Of course, maybe that was their plan all along: buy then sell.
I'm not at all surprised if they're down-sizing.
by Anonymous | reply 182 | January 2, 2022 6:43 PM |
You would think that they'd have hustled like hell to make the Spotify and Netflix deals work out: Those could have been really lucrative and helped them build a profile apart from the BRF. Instead, they've lost the money, industry connections, and reputation that the deals could have brought them.
by Anonymous | reply 183 | January 2, 2022 6:50 PM |

There have been rumors (discussed on some of the other threads) since the fall that Meghan was eyeing a move to New York to launch a political career (better Democratic connections in NYC than Cali allegedly). Regardless, they are moving from their Montecito because they are burning through money. Of course they have mounted such an expensive PR campaign, there is no way they'll admit that piece of 'inconvenient truth.' These two go through stories faster than most of us go through underwear.
I hate all royalty but these two are just hysterically self-important and I really don't get why people think they are so great. Meghan is a c-list cable actress who hasn't succeeded at anything beyond that really. Harry is an idiot with clear mental health issues who has never had any real responsibility in life.
What are the divorce laws like in NY? Harry is allegedly due to get his final payout from the Queen Mother's estate when he turns 40. So she won't leave him until then.

Regardless, though, I’ve never understood the rumor about Meghan wanting to enter politics. She already has the things lots of people go into politics to achieve: fame, notoriety, money, a platform from which to sell ideas. All she’d be doing is adding work, and work that would be regarded as embarrassing, like courting donors. I really don’t think that will happen.

R187 - For the umpteenth time, there was no payout or trust fund from the Queen Mother's estate. Estate representatives finally came out and publicly said it never happened.
There - was - no - fund - set - up - for - Charles' kids - by - the - Queen Mother.
The Bank of Dad closed in spring 2020, when Charles gave Harry the last $3 million he told him he'd get.
The money they're going through is his trust fund from Diana, whatever advances they got from Netflix, Spotify, her idiot book, and the advance for his memoir.
They finally published the Archewell Foundation's required public report, or Form 990 or whatever it is. For all their sturm und drang, pronouncements on all the "issues" they support, and their notoriety, it only pulled in $50K in donations.
So much for how riotously compelling they are to the public outside their royal connections.
In addition to the hefty mortgage, property taxes, and maintenance of the extensive home and grounds, they hired lots of security and foundation staff, plus PR, assistants, "programming" directors , communications staff . . . those people aren't working for free.
You have to know how much smoke and mirrors they are desperately putting up by how fast Catherine Saint Laurent bailed on them. She was too experienced not to figure it out soon after being hired by them. Eleven months and she bowed out gracefully. If there had been real meat there, she'd have stayed on.
Meghan has lived her entire life adhering to the maxim that you dress for the job you want, not the job you have. She's very much the "build it and they will come" sort, mentally.
What she never figured out is that there is a practical limit to how much you can do with smoke and mirrors. Sooner or later, it's put up or shut up.
Celebrities aren't rushing to pour millions into her silly foundation. Her and Harry's poll numbers have sunk even further in Britain. Most of America doesn't give fuck all about them. The Ellen appearance was a fucking disaster. The incredibly rude, intrusive political ploy didn't work, either - you notice there was no mention of her being invited to that "working lunch" on family leave or whatever the gathering was. Chuck Schumer probably reamed Gillebrand's arse over the coals over that one.
They overplayed their hand early on, and the Oprah interview ended by painting them as a pair of self-pitying, rich, lying, shites.
The only thing that went well for them was Meghan winning the privacy case, and no one gives a shit that she did, because in the process it was broadcast to the world that she perjured herself under oath.
They're clumsy, short-sighted, tone-deaf, and lucky to be rich enough not to have to pay too hard a price for being clumsy, tone-deaf, and short-sighted.

^*And her $70 million "fortune" was all in non-liquid assets that had to be liquidated to pay off her enormous debts, and not for the first time. The artwork was left to the nation, the jewels were put into the Queen's personal possession (those that weren't part of the royal collection to start with) and her London home, Clarence House, is part of the Crown Estates. She didn't own it, couldn't sell it. Charles and Camilla live there now.
Everything was left to the Queen except for a few bequests to trusty old retainers and friends.

It's sad to think that if Harry and Meghan had been team players, made nice with their relatives (or in-laws), and ignored the press, they could currently be enjoying a large Kensington Palace apartment and probably a lovely country manor house (likely York Cottage). They'd have plenty of money, plenty of security, and plenty of publicity. If they'd gone along and gotten along, even the negative press coverage would have died down by now: It usually does after the first baby is born.
The career of Harry and Meghan is one of the biggest own-goals in history.

Why should Harry have inherited from Queen Mum? He was just one of several great-grandchildren. And she was debt-ridden when she died.
That being said, even if Harry inherited a bit of money from her, it would be gone by now. Just like presumably most of the cash he has inherited from his late mother. He and the wife aren't exactly thrifty and hard-working people.

If Harry and Meghan had stayed the course, imagine the adorable photos of the brothers with their wives and the five kids: Louis and Archie playing together, Charlotte pushing Lili in her pram, etc. You couldn't buy that kind of positive publicity, and it would have established the Sussexes as very much Royal.
Meghan should have watched how her sister-in-law handled things: smiling a Mona Lisa smile and being patient with the press. That's how you get the tiaras and the country estates.

Do they even have $50 million in cash/ liquid assets? Even $50 million is small fry in the super wealthy circle that they had hoped to weasel their way into. Just to give a better picture, there are many tech millionaires living in the SF Bay Area who are way wealthier than the Sussexes. One such person was a former client of my real estate developer uncle. He was already worth around $150 million back in the 90s. He and his family are wealthy but very low key in the way they lead their lives.
The problem with wannabe rich fucks who are cash poor is that they can only keep up appearances for so long. In that circle to only have one home (main residence) is considered odd if not unfortunate. That’s Harry and Meghan, surrounded by SB neighbors who are way wealthier than they are. In SB, it is THEY who are the social climbing gate crashers. I’m sure they’re self-conscious of it too. State income and property taxes are due along with expensive upkeep and private security, not to mention mortgage payments for the estate.
I think privately the couple worries about money quite a lot. Do they even have money to spend on Netflix projects, that Archewell production needs to further those projects along beyond PR teasers?
by Anonymous | reply 215 | January 2, 2022 10:37 PM |
Where do they think they’ll live if they come to NYC? The best addresses have co-op boards that require approval. I’m sure some will accept the Harkles, but plenty don’t want paranoid and litigious owners who require lots of security staff. And many require the owner to have the entire cash purchase price of the unit in the bank, to ensure they are wealthy enough to belong to the co-op. E.g., if the unit costs $10 million, the prospective buyer must have $10 million in cash in the bank. They delve deep into credentials and references. They can deny you for ANY reason and don’t have to disclose why. You can be an A-lister, but if the board doesn’t like showbiz folks, you’re not getting in.
Try it, Meghan.

Yes, but Meghan doesn’t want a sedate, silently glamorous life, she wants a big loud life where she and her guy are the main characters, and that’s one of the reasons Harry wanted her. It’s hard to stomach but I see the family fracture and the public blowup as wish fulfillment for Harry, in a way. I don’t think he wants to hurt his grandmother, but his father and brother? Yes. Harry is rebelling against being cast at birth as a side character in the story of his family.

I really don’t think there’s any plan to move far. Even the DM article, in saying they disliked the location, said they wanted to move neighborhoods, not cities. I bet they will find a smaller, less costly estate to maintain (which hopefully is less ugly as well…)

Can you imagine the terrible publicity if Prince Harry can't get into a UES co-op?
by Anonymous | reply 219 | January 2, 2022 10:52 PM |
Even if Harry did get a trust from his great-grandmother (not saying he did, but IF), Harry has never had 50 million in cash. Diana's original estate left Harry and William each around 10 million dollars in capital, with a yearly income of 450,000 dollars at age 25. Even with interest on the capital, that's not enough to get him anywhere near the 50 million mark. The rumors about the Queen Mother trust is that Harry got the majority of a 6 million pound lump sum left to him and William and that the brothers are supposed to split another 8 million pounds when each turn 40, with again the lion's share going to Harry.
But even if Harry DID get a trust fund from his great-grandma (leave me alone Trust Fund Troll, I'm not saying he did), and even if he got big payouts from Spotify and Netflix and a big advance on his autobiography, he doesn't have 50 million. Not with the way he and Meghan have been spending.

R199 100% this! That's the thing, Buckingham Palace did such a great job covering Harry's messes that for a while he was the most popular member of the royal family. Things changes when Meghan came along as they became obsessed with their press coverage while at the same time they also become much more "showy & preachy" in a way royals aren't supposed to which started to play into their declining popularity. While I think Harry has long been a spoiled, jealous, paranoid, and spiteful person, I think he's also easily influenced. It's clear that before Meghan entered the picture, he was more influenced by William, Catherine, the Queen and Charles. I think Meghan (intentionally or not) played into his worst tendencies and influenced him against his own best interests. Brat or not, Harry was good at public engagements and not into any "woke speak" as he would later become.
As for Meghan, she was interesting and super relevant so-long as she remained the first person of color within the Royal Family, outside of it, there's nothing interesting about her and the more that is leaked out, makes her look like a lying and manipulating cunt. Also that footage of her with Harry at the Veterans awards in NYC makes it clear she gives zero fucks about the actual public work, she just likes photo opportunities. Had they just played ball with the royals (even if there was tension behind the scenes) H&M probably would have been hugely popular now (royal coverage always changes after kids are born) and always would have been relevant with the added bonus that in 15 to 20 years time, W&C's kids would be taking on more duties and they could get away with doing even less. Yes, royal engagements are boring but really you only have to do a couple a week and the UK press leaves them alone. Most royal visits are about 20 to 60 mins and then they can do whatever they want. It's not a hard life.

California state income tax (it’s really fucking high here for anyone making over $200k)
California property tax, again, ridiculously high for mansions like the Sussexes’ abode
Upkeep of mansion; mortgage payments
Security bill
Travel expenses when not mooching off of new friends with private jets
PR firm/ multiple PR staff/ private secretary
Paid PR media campaigns disguised as “news” updates on the Sussexes
Services of paparazzi and “journalist” mouthpieces
Archewell staff/ proposed project costs
Attorneys on retainer/ actual attorney fees for personal business
Attorney fees for entrepreneurial ventures (Archewell, Doria’s shady senior care business, etc….)
These things have got to add up to at least $5 million this past year alone, and that’s lowballing the estimate. It doesn’t even count the amount of money Meghan spends on ill-fitting clothes.

This is so accurate, r222. As I have repeatedly posted here ever since the wedding, I had hoped that the Sussexes would have the shrewdness, sophistication and maturity to take advantage of their unique situation within the Royal family and carve out a position of positive contrast to the Cambridges.
She was a "C List", mid-30s, divorced actor with not many moves left. He was the spare who needed a fresh image.
Imagine if they had stuck it out, where their fame would now be? Hell, the "A List" ( I hate that term, but it'll have to do) would be beneath them.
But no. Markle had to show-off with that Celebrity Show-folk Trash NY City Baby Shower, revealing that she didn't see mingling with celebs as a part of the job of being Royal; a thing one must do at a premier or Gala, but instead and incorrectly saw it as the job itself.
Then they foolishly pushed all their chips in on the Oprah interview.
I wouldn't know how they think but if you're a tech billionaire looking to rub elbows with Royalty or an actual mover and shaker in world politics, who do you want a photo op with? The Cambridges or the Sussexes?
Hint: the answer is the future King and Queen Consort of the UK. If the Sussexes were still part of the Royal family, you'd want one with both families.
Turn the oven to OFF, the Sussexes are done.

R223's right - all those 'jobs' Harry claimed to have: they were all for obscure tech start-ups. I figure they would claim to hire Harry (who of course has zero qualifications to do anything) to get publicity to try to work up some interesting in their outfit. He was probably getting a fee for 'endorsing' them and then he'd move on. They've produced no content for Spotify and nothing for Netflix. It seems like they got contracts with both by emphasizing they could get the royal family to show up for them. Then they had the bad idea to shoot their wad for free with Oprah thereby ensuring their relatives' enmity and non-participation in their get-rich-quick ventures. Oops. They aren't the sharpest knives in the drawer not to mention both of them appear to have several sandwiches missing from their picnic.
by Anonymous | reply 237 | January 3, 2022 12:20 AM |
It's interesting to speculate about what exactly they expected to come from the Oprah interview. Even if what they spouted was all true and backed by receipts (btw Gayle, where are those receipts??), Harry would have to have known that his family would never admit to anything or apologize, if they said anything at all.
And while Harry may not want to hurt his gran, it's pretty clear that he gives two shits about her given the timing of the Oprah interview and his not attempting to see his grandfather before he passed.

Of course they are r240. I meant they shouldn't try to compete with the Cambridges; there is no competing with the future King and Queen of the UK and commonwealth realms.
My point is that the Sussexes should have embraced that and carved out their own unique presence, supporting the Cambridges and knowing their place; a place that would have given them lesser prominence but more freedom.
I think the presence of all four as working Royals would have been a great, interesting, positive contrast in images.
That's what I mean.

Fans said the same thing during the feud. It was just tabloid misinformation that the brothers didnt get along, just more clickbait that the Sussexes moved out of KP and not actually anything serious, much ado about nothing that they split from the Royal Foundation. People said everyone who gossiped about the Sussex drama was just a racist who wanted to see Meghan destroyed for being black, when in reality everything was great and TQ and UK loved them.
Then there was a feud and they did leave.
People said they'd never stay in Canada, Meghan wanted to go to Hollywood, she'd try to get involved in politics, do talk shows. Fans said that was all tabloid misinformation and we were racists for gossiping about it. Everything was fine! Just more clickbait and false news from the UK media.
Then they moved to LA (and Montecito) and Meghan has been cold-calling pols and went on Oprah and Ellen and Harry did Dax and Cordan, and they signed deals with two media companies.
Now it looks like rumblings of divorce and here we go again. It's just racist ridiculousness generated by bored tabloids and it doesnt mean anything.

If it had, they'd have raised huge amounts of good-will start-up funds from the likes of Oprah, Clooney, Serena Williams, Gayle King, the Obamas, and all the other Progressive Woke types in LaLa Land. That they didn't speaks volumes about their lack of real pull in those circles, if not active personal dislike.
It all probably dictates a reassessment and regroup. It would be typical of Meghan to signal an internal reset with an external move.
Trashing the family, again, in a couple of "memoirs", given how disastrously that game backfired on them last year, is probably a Hail Mary Pass because it's still what publishers are willing to pay them for.
But what happens when that's gone?
Last year, Philip died at a most unfortunate moment for their self-pitying whingeing and lies.
With their luck, the Queen will die when Harry's memoir comes out, his self-obsessed petulance playing out against the backdrop of a state funeral, the family in black, tribute after tribute pouring in from the world press, William looking even more powerful as he walks right behind the new King, the aura of the riches of the Duchy of Cornwall and the title PoW coming off him like smoke, his also increasingly regal, tall, slender duchess gorgeous in a fitted black coat, pearls, and a delicious hat with a veil.
Yeah, Harry, you're soooooo important, we're all soooooo interested in how you FEEL.
Just give us a moment to clock the hats and jewels of the Kings and Queens of Denmark, Sweden, Norway, The Netherlands, Spain, Luxembourg, Lichtenstein, Japan, and the Gulf States who are all in attendance.
Soon as it's all over we'll ask if you're OK.

As I keep saying, the one advantage Meghan and Harry bring to the RF is that they make Charles and William and Camilla and Kate look good and draw them sympathy. Take the Sussexes out of the picture and it's back to fuddy-duddy Charles and stuck-up William.
by Anonymous | reply 266 | January 5, 2022 4:38 AM |
That may have been true at one point, but Kate and William have really come into their own over the last couple of years. They'll gain more public interest as Prince and Princess of Wales, and their three attractive kids will only become more fascinating to press and public as they get older.
By the time the Cambridge children are all teenagers, Harry and Meghan will be around 50. They won't have the public's attention at that point except as sad curiosities. Archie and Lili might do better unless they turn into spoiled, jaded LA brats. Then we'll be back to the Sussexes making the Cambridges look better by contrast: Younger Generation Edition.
by Anonymous | reply 267 | January 5, 2022 4:56 AM |
The tabs need a target or two. Without the Sussexes, they would have focused on somebody else. (Andy is too easy a target; they need more.)
by Anonymous | reply 268 | January 5, 2022 5:04 AM |
The tabs will chew on Harry and Meghan until the next generation of Royal kids grow up. They'll have a lot to choose from then: The Queen has a dozen great-grandchildren already and will likely have half-a-dozen more. Bea and Eug aren't finished, then there are the eventual Wessex grandkids, and I wouldn't rule out Peter Phillips having more with a new wife--he still hasn't got a son, and that sort of thing is important to men of that background.
by Anonymous | reply 269 | January 5, 2022 5:13 AM |
Harry and Meghan have 15 years, tops. The Phillips kids are already almost tweens, and the tabs usually start in when the Royal offspring are older teenagers. In 15 years Harry will be 53 and Meghan 56--they'll only make tabloid fodder then if they really, really fuck something up like Andrew did.

by Anonymous | reply 271 | January 5, 2022 5:21 AM |
People have already tired of them, R271. Even that Christmas card with Lilibet didn't get them that much attention. Tbh, I would've expected Lilibet to be more interesting to people, alas they don't seem to give a fuck that much.
In terms of impact and public interest, Harry and Meghan are toast.

Harry must be such a private worry for Charles.
by Anonymous | reply 273 | January 5, 2022 12:12 PM |
If they wanted publicity from revealing a photo of Lilibet, they needed to release it within a few weeks of her birth. She was six months old by the time they released that Christmas card, and people had already moved on.
by Anonymous | reply 274 | January 5, 2022 12:50 PM |
Agreed r273, and part of it has to be how William will treat Harry after Charles death.
If the Sussexes really are burning through their money, both Charles and William are holding all the financial cards.
I assume Charles will leave Harry and all of his grandkids some cash at Charles death, but I have to believe that, right now, if the Sussexes divorce, Charles is of no mind to have his money used to set up Markle in the style she's grown accustomed to.
I maintain that Harry will bolt from Markle. Better to have a messy, pocket-cleaning divorce now, start over, tail between your legs, and go back to PaPa, er, excuse me, I mean the one day King of the UK and Commonwealth realms.
Even if Harry doesn't divorce Markle, he has the upper hand, if he can recognize that he does.
She's tougher and smarter than him. But, she's no Lauren Sanchez or Wendi Deng. Those two are in a whole different league than Markle.
It's telling that the anticipated divorce is more interesting and fun to speculate about than whatever these two are actually up to these days.

[quote]Archie and Lili might do better unless they turn into spoiled, jaded LA brats.
Who wants to lay odds on that?
[quote]She's tougher and smarter than him.
Low bar. Is the actual problem a lack of stick-to-itiveness. Just look at Spotify. Look at the Ellen squat. What's going on there? When it's all want, all talk, all press release, with nothing to offer except talk and want and ambition, you get what you've seen. The idiotic small band of worshippers aside, most thinking people look at the last 24-months with disdain.
If she wanted to marry for money, she made the wrong choice. It appears she doesn't have any particularly lucrative talents to stand on her own if ill-fitting shoed two feet in the style to which it appears she wishes to become accustomed. If she wanted to be Lauren Sanchez or Wendi Deng she married the wrong guy, though a bird in the hand, I guess. It would have been better to milk Harry for the publicity and then launched herself into the stratosphere while people thought much differently of her. Can you imagine the benefits of poor, pretty actress who found love but was hounded away from it by the racist British press? Fucking bingo, gold mine and three cherries motherload. She'd have been at the Obamas birthday party with that title.
Tougher than Harry, probably. Smarter than Harry? Likely. But as ever there is the appearance of more want and ambition than strategy and that is a major weakness. Anyone divorcing out of a marriage like this will have more comfort materially than if you hadn't broken through, but there will never be everything that seems to be desired. As ever where there is more want and ambition and demand for obedience than there is strategy, there is sloppiness, miscalculation and failure. If that is what is at play here, she played it wrong, which you could argue is a pattern.

In the event of a divorce, Meghan's trump card is the children. If Harry wants to see his kids, he'll have to play nice with her.
Of course, like many straight men, he may just start over with a new wife and kids.

R277, she did a clever public thing, writing the book about Harry and Archie BONDING on their BENCH. It’s right there in black and white, proof that Harry is a better father than Charles or Phillip or William. It’s part of Harry’s brand and image. He can’t walk away from his son.
Of course, it’s also in black and white and live color that Harry has mental illness, so if she wants to banish him, she’s got ammo. Of course, so has he, come to think of it. She did that whole thing about being suicidal while pregnant… hmmmm.
by Anonymous | reply 281 | January 5, 2022 3:12 PM |

[quote]In the event of a divorce, Meghan's trump card is the children. If Harry wants to see his kids, he'll have to play nice with her.
He doesn't need to "play nice", he'll just need a half decent lawyer. Parents get shared custody these days, 50-50, Harry will get the same. They'll have to shuttle the kids back and forth; the only concession is they'll probably have to stay in CA so both parents will stay put as well.
The days of fathers having to fight to see their children are over. Even drug addicts who get out of jail get their shared custody kept intact these days. It's more a problem to get dads to go and see their kids half the time, I don't believe Harry will have that problem.
by Anonymous | reply 284 | January 5, 2022 4:28 PM |
The thing about the children is if they divorce, and Harry reconciles with the BRF, and is granted use of a home in the UK, I can see Markle asking a Court to order that she is allowed to accompany the children's visitations with him - seperate lodgings at his expense, of course - because she'll fear he'll refuse to send them back to the states.
Seriously, this could blow-up into one of those international child custody battles that grabs the headlines every decade or so.

r282,
I can see it the other way, too, however, the other way means I've generously assumed he has an iota of common sense: he stays single, and for good measure and wisely, he gets a vasectomy.
Why? Finances. Another family will cost money. And he'll already be on the hook for child support. In fact, a smart woman would only see him strictly as fling material. Mr. Right Now, rather than Mr. Right.
After all, if you marry him, you marry his baggage.
by Anonymous | reply 287 | January 5, 2022 5:15 PM |
why Della/r285? High profile international couples get divorced all the time, they have airtight custody agreements to work out such intricacies in advance. And Harry isn't going to make a grab for the kids in the UK - it would be the worst look ever for him and the BRF, it would never happen. He'd have authorities all over him. US divorce agreements are recognized by most of our NATO European ally countries.
Look at Madonna and Guy Ritchie. Married in Scotland, divorced in a NY state court. Their divorce/custody agreement was filed in NY state, but recognized by the UK when their son Rocco went to dad's in London one Christmas and refused to return. Madge went to NY court within days, and Guy was ordered to send the kid home, stat (which he did lest he be pulled in by UK authorities).
The US court of course later modified custody to allow Rocco to residentially live with Guy, which was his wish, and as a late teenager it was granted.

Harry is really, really stupid. He was pandered to all his life by his father and palace staff which brought out every negative aspect in his character. He is basically uneducated and has no curiosity in anything. He smokes like a chimney and his clothes stink. Harry is a sex maniac and could not stay faithful to Meghan, so I'll bet he's been unfaithful to her as often as he can get the chance. Meghan must be bugging him for sex, because she knows that's how she landed him in the first place. Meghan hates having sex with Harry because of his body odor and he's a bed lover.
by Anonymous | reply 292 | January 5, 2022 5:47 PM |
The BRF have a lot of dirt on Megsie that they buried so that Dim and D-list could present as a perfect couple. I would imagine all of that will come flooding out should our heroine try to play hardball during any divorce.
by Anonymous | reply 293 | January 5, 2022 6:55 PM |
If the marriage breaks down, rest assured it will be Meghan filing for divorce. Not only will she want to paint herself as victim but she'll also want to choose the jurisdiction for the dissolution.
She'll have her lawyers determine where she's likely to get the biggest payout, and that's where she'll file. Of course.
by Anonymous | reply 294 | January 5, 2022 7:02 PM |
You can’t draw up a custody agreement before children are born. Or, you can, but it won’t necessarily be enforceable. Custody agreements are always subject to review and change. I mean, what if a man gets a woman to agree to relinquish custody in the event of a divorce and then he becomes an incompetent and broke drug addict amd has a psychotic break? And she’s the one making all the money? He gets the kids because that’s what they agreed before they married?
by Anonymous | reply 295 | January 5, 2022 7:34 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 298 | January 5, 2022 7:46 PM |
The international aspect is what will make custody tricky. It's 8000 miles from LA to London--if Harry returns to the UK, he won't be able to have the kids on weekends. Once they are in school, they won't be able to visit the UK except over the holidays. If Harry wants a real relationship with Archie and Lili, he'll have to stay in California. He'll have to work to overcome the alienation tactics you know Meghan will try.
It takes a lot of time, money, and effort to make a situation like that work. Harry isn't Brad Pitt: He doesn't have deep pockets or a work ethic (and even Brad hasn't done so well in his own custody case). It will be much easier for Harry to let Meghan have the kids, see them once in a great while (when Meghan wants a photo op of Archie and Lili with King Charles), and lead an undemanding Royal bachelor lifestyle otherwise.
He could very well go the Andrew route and not marry again. He wasn't considered prime husband material by women of the upper classes before he hooked up with Meghan. As a divorced man with a drained trust fund and a tarnished reputation, he'll be even less appealing.
by Anonymous | reply 299 | January 5, 2022 7:58 PM |
Pre-nups aren't legally binding in Great Britain anyway. The Justice presiding over the divorce is free to take one into consideration if he/she deems it relevant but it will get no more weight as evidence than the Justice decides is appropriate.

What's with all the talk about a custody battle? That's fanfic. She (or he) will file for divorce in CA, where 50-50 is the strong norm. There is very little either will be able to use to reduce or change this - unless one of them murders someone or gets caught with a stash of smack in their valise. And even then they'll still have strong visitation.
Harry will of course need to stay local to be near the kids on a regular basis. He'll only be able to take them back to the UK for designated, pre-approved vacations.

Meghan is paranoid about her kids being in the UK. She whisked Archie out of their as soon as things went sour, and Lili has never been there at all. Which is silly: The BRF isn't causing an international incident over kids that far away from the throne.

by Anonymous | reply 325 | January 6, 2022 2:19 AM |
R323 Because part of the reason she hooked Harry was that she played along with his anger, resentment, fantasies of leaving for some wonderful life, and taking out his revenge on the family he blamed for all his problems.
She couldn't very well bond with him, sympathising with him, telling him how much they could do together when they got out of that nasty royal prison, and then turn around once in and say, "Hey, Aitch, maybe this ain't such a bad gig, after all!"
Besides, she had her own issues to confront once in. Her envy of Kate once she got a real taste of how hierarchy works, the boredom of the work of really representing other people instead of herself, and, of course, she'd stupidly antagonised the UK press before she even got her foot in the door.
No, this was two people who made a pact with each other's devils.
The fact that the Queen and Charles and the family grimly tried it on at all tells you how desperate they were to contain what they quickly realised were a couple of grenades.
How'd that work out for you, Ma'am?

I think Harry and Meghan's dynamic is like the episode of Cork Master from Frasier.
Mel: Oh, don't you look dashing. I've brought you a nice bottle of Cheval Blanc to impress the wine club. Niles: Oh, this is the perfect occasion for me to bring this wine. We're electing a new president tonight. Mel: Oh? Niles: Yes, and I promised Frasier I'd nominate him. Mel: Well, I'm so happy my rare, expensive bottle will benefit your brother. Niles: Yes, well, ever since the day he joined the wine club, Frasier's dreamed of becoming corkmaster. Mel: I think it's wonderful. I really do: helping your brother win this prestigious post. Niles: Well, Frasier, deserves it. Mel: Because he knows more about wine than you do? Niles: I wouldn't say that. Mel: Well, he's probably been in the club longer? Niles: No, actually, I sponsored his membership. Mel: Oh, well, so you've never wanted that honor for yourself? Niles: Well, I wouldn't say never. Who hasn't nursed the dream of one day becoming corkmaster? Mel: Oh, I'm sure Frasier at least asked if you were interested. Niles: Now that you mention it, no he didn't. Mel: Oh, and you don't resent it? Well, you see, that's why I love you, because most people would. I would, bitterly, but then I'm not you and I don't know what's best for you and... Niles: Do you think I should call him on this? Mel: Please, the last thing I want to do is come between you and your brother. Niles: He knows perfectly well how much I've coveted this post. Mel: Well, I'm sure he just forgot. Niles: No, no, don't defend him. He's always putting himself first and I always let him. Mel: Why, Niles? Niles: Oh, I don't know, I think perhaps it's because... Mel: I'll tell you why: because you can't see yourself for what you really are! You are a powerful, sexy, dynamic, colossus of a man. In other words, perfect corkmaster. Niles:I am, aren't I? Mel: And don't let anyone, anyone ever take that away from you.
So Niles betrays Frasier and when Fraiser finds out he tells Niles Mel is manipulative so Niles stops speaking to him because he thinks Frasier only Mel sees his true potential and really cares for him.

[quote]I don’t think she cares that her kids won’t have British accents. That’s too Colonial for a Wokeist like her.
For some reason this reminds me about her whining about learning the national anthem and "all these hymns." Her acting speaks for itself, but she was able to learn lines before, I never understood her problem.
by Anonymous | reply 342 | January 6, 2022 2:14 PM |
R342 I took that as her going for “relatable.” Her frau fans would hear that and go, “oh me too, I could never learn all those werdz.”

I'm sure Meghan did have trouble remembering the words to the songs. She seems like someone who has difficulty paying attention to anything which doesn't interest her.
by Anonymous | reply 347 | January 6, 2022 9:27 PM |
Or she pretends to pay attention while really focusing on performing for the cameras. There is a clip where people are talking to M&H while they are by a fence. M has her full focus on the talkers but then you see her flick her fucking coat and realize she was never paying attention. She wasn't even showing yet.

You seem strangely obsessed with childrens’ eye colour, R349. But you ARE strange, aren’t you?
You need to find some hobbies and make some friends.
Actually maybe just focus on the hobbies - more of an attainable goal.

You don't get it, do you? The Klan Grannies say that Meghan is dying Archie's hair red, so I look around and decide to comment on the bizarre fact that the three Cambridge brats all have brown eyes. You're leading the way.

There are no paternity shenanigans in that family, folks. Harry is Charles’s. The Cambridge kids are William’s, and Harry’s kids are his. Boring, I know. Nobody in this day and age of DNA testing is going to try to pull a fast one within the royal lineage.

No sane person has suggested that William and Harry's kids aren't theirs. The KGT loves to say outrageous things and then try to get the thread shut down by screaming that OTHER people are saying those things. It's an old and tired tactic.
by Anonymous | reply 363 | January 7, 2022 2:49 AM |
Let me explain how brown eyes work for KGT. Brown is a dominant gene for ete colour. So, if there are briwn eyes somewhere in the family - not necessarily mother or father - it is very likely that this gene will take precedence in the children. For example, if both parents have blue eyes but there is a brown-eyed grandmother, the likelihood that the child will have brown eyes is about 50 per cent. It's called atavism, look it up.

by Anonymous | reply 368 | January 7, 2022 3:27 AM |
George does, indeed, have Michael Middleton's brown eyes. Louis has dark hazel green eyes like his mother. Charlotte's are a blue-gray, not surprising when you combine William's blue and Kate's hazel, then throw in the various blue/brown of the grandparents.
by Anonymous | reply 369 | January 7, 2022 3:29 AM |
George at about the same age as Louis above. His eyes are much darker.
by Anonymous | reply 370 | January 7, 2022 3:31 AM |
Louis is going to look like a male Kate when he grows up. Charlotte will look like a blend of William and the Queen.

by Anonymous | reply 373 | January 7, 2022 3:52 AM |
The KGT is the one who calls Kate a cunt and anybody on here who disputes that “dummy”, “spaz”, “Klan Granny” and of course “racist”. It is deranged and currently obsessed with the Cambridge kids’ eye colour and Kate’s mother having worked as a flight attendant.

Anyone else think that Harry is basically becoming Andrew 2.0...well I hope without associating without a pedo. Like Andrew, Harry was very popular in his 20s, seen as a something of a war hero, while the Palace covered his blunders as best they could. Then again like Andrew, marries someone with a bit of "scandalous" past who on paper seems to be a breath of fresh air for the monarchy. Like Fergie and Andrew, Meghan and Harry were initially very popular but then their popularity waned as their sense of entitlement started to show and Meghan (like Fergie) seems to be more interested in the perks then duty of royalty. I think like Andrew, Harry is going to eventually lack purpose and slide into a life of controversy.

The KGT also reveals its identity through the ongoing attempt to make “Pedrew” happen as well as the regular use of “whore”, “hoe”, “ad hominem” [when feeling extra clever], “frau”, “dumbass”, “spastic”, “Joey Deacon”, “Prancing pony” and is sadly proud that it rides the London tube to their job in the City every day without wearing a mask.

[quote] He always struck me as enjoying male comraderie, but there are no comrades around. Probably tries to pal it with his bodyguards instead.
Harry reminds me of John Lennon c. late 1970s. He grew up and became famous as a very misogynistic young guy who abused substances and saw women as objects, except for his mother, who died and whom he worshipped. Once he met Yoko Ono he changed very quickly and went through a process of reevaluating a lot of his prior beliefs and actions. But because of his nature he held onto a lot of anger and publicly threw that at his associates from his earlier, now detested, lifestyle (mostly Paul). Before his death John has grown into a truly thoughtful and interesting guy who actually learned to enjoy women as human beings, but who was still unduly bitter about his earlier life. Of course, the public blamed Yoko for all of it instead of recognizing John’s change came from within.
I genuinely don’t see it as a bad thing if Harry wanted to change his lifestyle, beliefs, and purpose, and I don’t see it as Meghan’s fault. His problem is that he feels the need to blame his family for his prior behavior that he dislikes.
by Anonymous | reply 414 | January 7, 2022 4:44 PM |
The wonky eye has probably become wonkier. The poor kid can't be blamed for that, wonky eyes tend to get wonkier throughout the day due to strain, and, in the long term, if you don't get them treated.
Meghan is ashamed of not having a perfect child.
by Anonymous | reply 415 | January 7, 2022 4:47 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 416 | January 7, 2022 4:48 PM |
I feel bad for Charlotte. She looks exactly like Lady Sarah Chatto, and bless her heart but that woman certainly hit the wall hard after her 30s.
by Anonymous | reply 417 | January 7, 2022 4:49 PM |
Charlotte will have been tutored from a young age into making the most of her looks with makeup and hair products by her mother, who has middle-class attitudes about that as compared to the earlier members of the royal family.
by Anonymous | reply 418 | January 7, 2022 4:51 PM |
R414 Interesting analogy. That would mean Beatles = Royal Family, Meghan= Yoko, Will = Paul, Kate = Linda Eastman. It all sort of fits. Do we think Harry is due for a "lost weekend" separation, like John had when he was running around with May Pang and Harry Nilsson, drunkenly heckling performers with Kotex stuck on his head? Yoko sat it out and eventually he came back.
by Anonymous | reply 419 | January 7, 2022 4:53 PM |
Yes, R419, I think we may see that (perhaps replace May Pang with booze and strippers generally), although I doubt William will be the one to fetch Harry home and back to Meghan.

Meghan number one objective is keeping Harry sexually aroused enough so they have sex as often as possible - they used to do it daily but now once a week is the best they can do. Harry is sexually bored with Meghan and avoids having sex with her. This is driving her crazy - she knows hos this is going to end - Harry will soon have a mistress and her sexual control over him will be broken. Mistress is the wrong word, the new woman will probably be a paid prostitute.

by Anonymous | reply 428 | January 7, 2022 8:20 PM |
The “Klan Granny” vs “Klan Granny Troll” issue -
Someone clever here coined the term “Klan Granny” to describe the posters who come to DL to make openly racist comments about Meghan and who clearly don’t fit in to the site culture generally. This spread across the site because (a) it was a memorable term, and (b) DL posters outside the royal family threads were annoyed that the Klan Grannies would come into unrelated threads and clog them up with weird racist comments.
Then, someone who was peeved at the term “Klan Granny” tried to coin the term “Klan Granny Troll” to describe a user who called another user a Klan Granny. There are many issues with this, but the the chief one is a marketing problem, which is it’s confusing to use essentially the same term to try and describe the opposite thing. All you’re doing is creating a Streisand effect or getting into a “Who’s on First” situation, as happens nearly every time this secondary term is used. If you’re going to try and make “fetch” happen with this, you need to create a distinct term, not just add “troll” onto the end.
by Anonymous | reply 429 | January 7, 2022 8:21 PM |
The fuck you're not, r425. You protect your aging and racism to anyone who doesn't lick markle ass the way you do. You see nothing but skin color in this ridiculous woman. People are not going to stop gossiping about markle because you run around hysterically screeching about the klan.

Now, back you go to agreeing with yourself on this thread.

R457, we all know how hard you tried to get 'Megastan' in the Urban Dictionary, but you failed because it's run by Gen Zs who are the polar opposite of racists and who like Meghan.
by Anonymous | reply 458 | January 7, 2022 11:24 PM |
R456 being a perfect example - you can’t marry yourself, you dizzy queen.
by Anonymous | reply 459 | January 7, 2022 11:24 PM |
R459, we don't say you and the rest of the Klan Grannies are running sock puppets (except for Dex, who has to because he's been banned).
Why can't you understand that MULTIPLE gay men don't enjoy this incessant racist bitching about an American woman who dared to leave the BRF?? Were you under the impression that you and your kin would be welcome here? That gay men would back your craven worship of a deeply homophobic institution? That only ONE person would speak out against you?
by Anonymous | reply 460 | January 7, 2022 11:29 PM |
I suspect that poster is the Pet Troll, because she always goes from 0 to 60 and lashes out calling people cunts whenever they say she’s a Klan Granny. So her attitude is probably based on accusing others of things she does herself.

I am a gay man you halfwit R460.

She's airing the cooch. At least this time not in someone's face.

Are you talking about the time she flashed her cooch at Serena's husband? Or when she pulled a Basic Instinct on stage?
by Anonymous | reply 466 | January 8, 2022 12:28 AM |
Whoops, i mistakenly clicked W&W instead of BLOCK on one of the recent Klan Granny accuser posts, so please ignore one of the 2 likes. One was the author and the other was me clicking by mistake.

Both Meghan and Harry have hit the wall hard. Neither was ever very attractive.

The Klan Grannies are so desperate for the dopamine hit of hating Meghan that they keep rehashing the same tired comments over and over because they have no new material.

The holiday photo didn't make much of an impact.
I fully expect some kind of stunt on Kate's birthday.
by Anonymous | reply 472 | January 8, 2022 4:10 PM |
They waited too long. People wanted to see Lili in July--by December, the world had moved on. A good clear picture of her would raise a little interest, but not much. Without the hospital steps picture and the Royal christening and the picture with the Queen, she's just another celebrity baby.
by Anonymous | reply 473 | January 8, 2022 4:14 PM |
The fact that both children's faces were obscured in the photo only feeds gossip about what they look like. Archie had a definite squint when he was a baby. Does he still?
by Anonymous | reply 474 | January 8, 2022 4:17 PM |
The way William and Kate handle things is smart. They release good, clear pictures of the kids on their birthdays, and the kids are occasionally photographed at events. That satisfies the public's interest in how the children are growing, and then everyone moves along. These occluded glimpses that the Sussexes give just feed speculation--which is perhaps what they want.
by Anonymous | reply 475 | January 8, 2022 4:25 PM |
I kind of get Oedipus vibes with Harry's attitude towards Meghan. Meghan seems like she is both his lover and his mother.
by Anonymous | reply 476 | January 8, 2022 5:01 PM |
R376, he is much more like Edward, who abdicated. Wallace Simpson is like Meghan, went after him, trapped him and he gave up the throne to be with her. She led him around by the nose, too. The difference is that he got a huge allowance as the Duke of Windsor and they lived in luxury until their deaths. Of course, he had to stay out of England, because he was essentially a traitor prior to and in the early part of WWII for fraternizing with Hitler and other top Nazis both in Germany and as governor of Jamaica.

Big difference between Wallis and the latest one. Wallis kept her mouth shut. Different times. Different games.
by Anonymous | reply 478 | January 8, 2022 9:58 PM |
I don’t think they’re like Edward and Wallis at all, except by circumstance. Edward was a strange cipher of a person.
by Anonymous | reply 479 | January 8, 2022 10:03 PM |
He received the allowance and George VI had to purchase back Balmoral and Sandringham from his brother who had inherited the properties as the oldest son. They didn't see automatically revert to the second son. So he was pretty flush with cash upon leaving or shortly afterwards. But didn't the couple still have money problems due to profligate spending? And that was back when security didn't cost a fortune.
by Anonymous | reply 480 | January 8, 2022 10:03 PM |
Edward always cried poor, but he had plenty of money. He shook down his brother for every cent possible until their mother and George's wife put a stop to it.
by Anonymous | reply 481 | January 8, 2022 10:05 PM |
Yes, they spent extraordinary sums of money and a lot of effort keeping up a pretense that everyone must treat them like monarchs. They were objects of fun because of it and seemed to slowly wizen away together in their shared delusion, just the two of them. I don’t think Harry and Meghan will follow that path because the kids put them in a different position.
by Anonymous | reply 482 | January 8, 2022 10:07 PM |
I don’t think Wallis really wanted to marry him, certainly not to the extent that he had to abdicate. She was fine being his mistress.
by Anonymous | reply 483 | January 8, 2022 10:58 PM |
Edward was fairly broken as Harry is broken. Wallace wanted security (money) and privilege and Meghan wanted that as well. When Wallace manipulated Edward into marrying her, society was different. Edward gave up the throne, so if the marriage didn't work, it would have been her fault regardless of the facts. She would have been ruined. Society would have rejected her and it is unclear what would have happened financially, but it would not have been good for her. She did whatever it took to keep him happy. I understand later on she procured people to satisfy whatever his proclivities were, much like G. Maxwell did for Epstein, while maintaining a relationship. She definitely wanted the marriage, though, because she was not getting any younger and needed the financial security.
Meghan was able to manipulate Harry, because he was a mess as well. He was not doing a good job with his responsibilities. For example, Philip had given him one of his favorite military charities to handle after he became too old. Harry pretty much blew it off, not showing up for events, not visiting. It was a huge letdown after the decades that Philip had sponsored it. Harry did very little work at all. I think William and Kate would have brought him along helping with responsibilities, but after Meghan got involved, things drifted apart. Harry never came to grips with his responsibilities.
I thought it was highly relevant that Meghan was interested in foreign service. She did some sort of internship at an embassy when she was at Northwestern. She even took the foreign service exam later, but failed it. I suspect southern California spoiled brat was not something valued by the service, nor did she have the intellect. It occurred to me that she saw the Ambassador position and thought, "oh, I'd like to do THAT" as it looked so glamorous and important. She very likely thought the same thing with the BRF. She could marry Harry and go right to the top. But she didn't understand the political nature of things. Not being English that's understandable. She became too demanding too soon and was not ready for the subtle but very tough competition to be part of that group if you weren't born into it. .
If marriage ends for the Harkles, will Meghan be blamed and, if so, will it matter? Society and wealth are a lot more spread out than the tighter knit small American/European class of the past. Will the facts matter unless they are egregious like Harry beating his children? Meghan still doesn't have friends, because it appears she has never been one. Wallace had alliances and was tough enough to make things work Meghan doesn't seem to have much toughness either, except that veneer.
by Anonymous | reply 484 | January 8, 2022 11:11 PM |
Wallis (not Wallace) really didn’t have alliances beyond her husband. Both were off-putting to others—purposely, trying so hard to maintain some sort of reigned royal remove—but Wallis especially was known to be an intolerably stone-cold bitch, as well as a bigoted Nazi. They really don’t have much in common at all with Harry and Meghan, who are mockable for different mistakes and reasons.
(Harry seems not broken but rather to be having a temper tantrum.)

Meghan reminds me of those miserable cunts that win the big lotto and yet somehow blow it all in a few years. The publicity in the UK would have died down. All she had to do was control her temper, be nice to the staff, and smile for the cameras.
If she hadn't met Harry she would still be struggling to find acting or cooking gigs in Toronto, sucking Cory's hog and messaging richer, more famous men for dates on social media like she did with Matt Cardle.
by Anonymous | reply 495 | January 9, 2022 5:42 AM |
I don't think Meg would ever allow herself to be single or without a host. Hell, I think if Ellen had asked her to divorce H and pair up, she would have jumped at the chance. After all, Ellen is rich.

Well put, R496. Markle is a parasite who feeds on her hosts: whether former lovers, family, in-laws, friends, former colleagues (Gina Crowne comes to mind), or celebrity acquaintances.
She feeds, extracts and then dumps. Just like a parasite.
Repulsive.

Realtor.com was throwing some shade at the Markles. They pointed out it would be unlikely they could make a lot of money on the sale of their house as the house needs updating. And then they suggested a couple of mansions in Montecito that might be more to their taste: both of them costing more than $29 million.

Actually, Wallis and Edward did have some supporters, especially amongst the cafe society set. Surprisingly, Churchill thought Edward should be allowed to marry the woman of his choice. His wife, Clemmie, disagreed. After the Yorks took over and the storm clouds of ear rolled ever closer, Churchill wrote to his wife that she'd been right, as he watched how superbly the Yorks handled themselves.
The great families of the landed aristocracy, like the Cecils and Percyslined up behind Queen Mary and the Yorks; cafe society, like Chips Channon and Emerald Cunard, supported Edward.
I adored Channon and his diaries, but it has to be said that at this juncture in time, he was on the wrong side of history every time. He worshipped Chamberlain, and despised Churchill, too.

My old Aunties just loved Wallis Simpson. Princess Grace too. Even the American who married the then King of Bhutan. An American marrying into a royal family really excites the American media and some American women with social inferiority complexes. So Meghan Markle and her fans are par for the course.

I was listening to a podcast that quoted Meghan on her suicidal thoughts during first pregnancy. What she said was so dramatic—she would have killed herself and unborn baby but didn’t because Harry would have to deal with another woman in his life who died suddenly.
I didn’t buy it for a minute. Instead, seemed like manipulation on the highest level. I don’t doubt that she was panicked by the bad press and sour feelings from royal family, but the suicide narrative certainly was designed to provoke Harry and enmesh him even more deeply.
by Anonymous | reply 507 | January 13, 2022 2:34 AM |
Even if it was true, it was a thoughtless thing to say. The child will read it some day. Thoughtless and selfish. And telling. It's not like she blurted it out in the moment. She made a deliberate decision.
by Anonymous | reply 508 | January 13, 2022 2:48 AM |
R506 I think her fans are dumb but it's obviously a bullshit rumor. If OP had to ask, they're an idiot.
by Anonymous | reply 509 | January 13, 2022 2:52 AM |
I don't believe it for a second. Malignant narcissists are known for their use of suicide threats for manipulation. Meghan is the very last person I can imagine feeling suicidal. It was an ugly thing to say. A slap in the face of all genuinely depressed and suicidal people out there. IMO it was the ugliest thing she's ever done.

Pregnant women are NOT suicidal. They may be after the kid is born but not during the pregnancy. Too many hormones regulating everything.
She copied that off Princess Di's melodramatic fake suicide attempt when she was pregnant with William and Charles was ignoring her. Meghan must have just watched that episode of The Crown.
