This has been going on in the UK for awhile now. It's horrible, but if these crooks start getting paid for dog theft, it will skyrocket.

Someone lost their French bulldog in my city. A good Samaritan found the pup and took him to vet to get the chip scanned and lo and behold, no chip. An unchipped $3000 dog!!! Samaritan posted on Reddit and the owner was found.

He's back. But there's no indication that anyone was caught. No explanation yet of how he was returned to his human.

I wonder if it's the same person who stole Gaga's dogs- weren't they also Frenchies? Also in WeHo.

anymore, safety is don't post your animals on social media.
the insanity last few years is you get people asking to buy your pet.. like i don't fucking get it, you're not giving any indictators you're trying to get rid of your animals but it's become a social norm on places like facebook and instagram. It's a wonder they don't ask for your kids, too, with how fucking bold they are. And that's setting you up to become a target by some crackhead, if not an organized ring.
too many people think it's just a random target but most of these thieves are stalking you through social media... tracking you down by what you post and following your schedule. And since the authorities don't take it as a serious crime, it just keeps the temptation available to criminals. few are ever caught and if they are, it's usually low bail, disappear and right back at it. money too easy for them. especially as there's always a buyer that doesn't give a shit.

Thefts of these animals are occurring in San Francisco also. The dogs are a huge status symbol, apparently THE must-have 2022 accessory for drug dealers' status-conscious girlfriends.

If the owners don't pay the ransom, i hope the thieves do the right thing and feed it to the hungry Vietnamese.
