How to keep a grocery store lobster as a pet 🦞
This lobster got a new lease on life and slowly regains the use of his taped up limbs. It’s a great physical therapy and recovery story.
He even grooms himself like a cat. It puts its toys away. I don’t think I could ever eat lobster again. Could you imagine just dumping this guy in a pot of boiling water?

great video. Animals have a lot more going on in their brains and behavior than we like to think about. Its a good argument for paying a bit extra for ethically sourced and raised animals if you're going to eat them.

Lovely video. There is a follow-up clip of how is Leon doing. I am not a particular fan of sea creatures, but I very much appreciate guys like Brady Brandwood loving and taking care of sea creatures like lobsters.
The world needs more nice and compassionate guys like Brady.

Tom Ripley would have to leave the kitchen when Mme. Annette would boil lobsters because he swore he could hear them screaming.

While I am absolutely a proponent of killing such creatures humanely, ie. I find it monstrous to throw a live lobster or crab or squid etc. in boiling water, I find it equally idiotic to think these creatures experience human emotions, like a cat or dog. No, your fucking pet lobster has no love for you. It has no proper brain. It has no clue what’s going on and is not thankful you saved it from a supermarket shelf.

Lobsters can live to over 100 years old. Looking at the guy's hands I think he's up there in age so he'd better make plans for where Leon can go at some point.

They say you eat the terror and pain that the animal endures at the time of its death.

You don't / should not do nice things just to get rewarded by others. You (should) do nice things, because it makes you feel good. It's the same with things like recycling. You don't do it to get cheers from others, you do it, because you believe it does make a difference (even when it is a small one).
For many, the belief of one's own actions having changed the world for the better is far more important to them than receiving credit or a reward.

Is it a rescue lobster, OP?

Interesting mini-side-convo going here. Not sure I agree with this. Shouldn't you do the right thing because it's the right thing, regardless of how it makes you feel?

On a subconscious level, you always know what is right for you. People rely way too much on being told what is right (for them, and society) and yet feel miserable for some reason. In the past being gay was considered wrong, not normal, disgusting and society didn't approve. Most people thought it was the right thing to not approve of homosexuality, and it was the right thing to for gay men and women to hide their truth.
Personally, I do not believe, in a world where all people are allowed to walk their own path and follow their own intuition (aka what feels right to them), there would be a single serial killer or a devious sociopath trying to screw other people over. People would simply chase after the next victory "high" they get from doing what feels right to them.

If serial killers were allowed to walk their own path and follow their own intuition, there would be a lot more bodies.

r15, they wouldn't be serial killers in the first place. I believe nobody is born a serial killer. The act itself is an expression of lashing out at society for pushing one down a different path in life that the individual would not have chosen for himself.

Uh uh, and you believe no one is born gay either?

r17. Wow. That is some fucked up logic. Even for a troll.

An update on Leon as of 12/21. Almost 3 months after he was adopted he's doing fine.

R16, there are people born with criminal tendencies. There are people who turn out evil, they just do. There are people who are born with something misfiring and to kill gives them gratification, a high, arousal or some other stimulant.
I’ve seen all kinds…
