What’s sad about Brand is that blended with his Nu Age BS, he is quite well-read/spoken, and moreover does actually espouse a handful of really decent ideas about socialism/syndicalism and pushing back against dangerous hypercapitalist nu-feudalism. If he’d just clean up and stop with the Woo and the 3rd Wave liberal nonsense, he could actually be an excellent talking head for radical community politics.

But he’s regrettably addicted to salt crystals, therapy/Al-Anon, and buying into culty trendy ideas that harm gays & women. So for the time being, fuck him.

Believe it or not , there are many people who are in AA/NA that are not really sober. The best cover for addict behavior is bipolar. It fits quite nicely .

Listened to most of it. My thought: every crazy opinion of the late 60s/early 70s is back. Eg. All mental illness is a product of society as if family dynamics and biology doesn't play a role much of the time, all religious experiences in the past were drug induced, we just need to expand our consciousness.
