Christmas Eve seems a weird time for this to become available and I’m interested in watching it, but obviously it’s a little bit busy now. Though for some it might be a godsend to have something to distract them from the holidays. Anyways, has anyone watched this documentary about the Falcon Studio founder and philanthropist and recommend it or suggest passing on it? Did anyone here know him or was involved in the studio and can verify the veracity of the documentary or have further stories to tell?

It's okay. It could've been better, but it was made on a limited budget and some of the people who could've given the best info are long dead. I'd give it a watch if you're interested in Falcon's porn or the history of porn. The most interesting thing to me were the extended interviews that were included on the DVD with the people who were interviewed for the doc.
I'd say it's fairly accurate (the filmmaker did do his research, but you never know sometimes what is real or hyperbole) and Falcon was involved to certain extent, they let the filmmaker use footage and go through various records. I don't think they had a lot to do with it other than that.

The preview we saw years ago was better. It had a segment with lots of dish about Holmes’ drug phase and how it diminished Falcon for a few of years.
I guess that doesn’t gel with the “respectable” image Holmes was trying to project for himself and the gays, which is the focus of the feature.

When I started watching in the late 80s, Falcon was THE name in gay porn, and the easiest to get from video stores. That lasted though the mid 90s, and even after Falcon was a huge name to deal with.
Many of their early stars died of AIDS--I think both the two men pictured at the OP died.
