When did this happen?
That is what a huge number of men’s bodies are like. A lot of 30+ gay guys have that body
by Anonymous | reply 1 | December 22, 2021 7:38 PM |
They ate their heads.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | December 22, 2021 7:39 PM |
Y’all, men can get pregnant too.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | December 22, 2021 7:39 PM |
Covid-stylin', all the rage hon!
by Anonymous | reply 4 | December 22, 2021 7:42 PM |
That has to be a joke. Otherwise it would just be bad marketing.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | December 22, 2021 7:45 PM |
OP this is the MATERNITY section. Those are models of the new fashions for “pregnant men.”
by Anonymous | reply 6 | December 22, 2021 7:45 PM |
Dad bods are now fashionable.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | December 22, 2021 9:00 PM |
That's not necessarily dad bod, that's more like alcoholic gut.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | December 22, 2021 9:38 PM |
What the hell is the difference, R9?
by Anonymous | reply 10 | December 22, 2021 9:40 PM |
Or AIDS belly as a friend of mine calls it.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | December 22, 2021 9:58 PM |
That's nothing. You should have seen girth of the mannequins at Hefty Hideaway!
by Anonymous | reply 12 | December 22, 2021 10:45 PM |
Unfortunately men who look like that are everywhere.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | December 22, 2021 10:50 PM |
OP is a big fat frau that has been emotionally binge eating anything and everything cream cheese/sour cream/mayonnaise.
She can't even wiper her own ass.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | December 22, 2021 10:59 PM |
I guess mannequins are no longer "aspirational".
by Anonymous | reply 15 | December 23, 2021 12:13 AM |
They took off the heads and used them to create shapely moobs and bellies.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | December 23, 2021 12:20 AM |
The mannequins were a result of left-over Trump likenesses.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | December 23, 2021 12:22 AM |
R14 She can't even wiper her own ass.
Wiper? You can't even insulting someone.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | December 23, 2021 12:25 AM |
Department stores in Cairo had fat mannequins in the late 90s when my friend was there. He took pics. We thought it was hilarious.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | December 23, 2021 12:39 AM |
R18 = Triggered fat frau who can't wipe her own ass, let alone pay for a subscription on here. Happy now?
by Anonymous | reply 20 | December 23, 2021 12:39 AM |
Wiper? I hardly know ‘er.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | December 23, 2021 12:40 AM |
Oh my my ! Disgusting.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | December 23, 2021 12:44 AM |
The Athleta store near me (on the UES) has great big fat person mannequins in their window. There aren’t too many very fat women around here (one of the thinnest zip codes in the country), but they have to be woke.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | December 23, 2021 1:58 AM |
Groundbreaking Louise Jefferson brought curves to the UES.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | December 23, 2021 2:09 AM |
There's just NEVER enough plastic in the world for that store to be able to do that and please ME!!!!
by Anonymous | reply 25 | December 23, 2021 2:15 AM |
A'hm a-gunna gowout an' git WIPERED!
by Anonymous | reply 26 | December 23, 2021 3:51 AM |
This kind of stuff makes me hate the whole 'body positivity' line of BS. It's not a good look and it's unhealthy, and promoting unhealthy physicality isn't doing ANYONE any favors.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | December 23, 2021 4:01 AM |
I go with “AIDS belly” too, it comes off quicker!
by Anonymous | reply 28 | December 23, 2021 4:05 AM |
We walked past Victoria’s Secret just this morning and there were fat mannequins dressed in lingerie in the windows.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | December 23, 2021 3:47 PM |
They need to make mannequins with Cushing’s.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | December 23, 2021 4:04 PM |
I don't want to see that.
I don't want to see fat models either. I have not now nor ever cared about seeing people "like" me in movies, tv, advertisements, or modeling. I want to see beautiful people who are pleasant to look at.
I am less likely to pay attention to ads full of unattractive people. I am less likely to buy items when advertised by people I don't find attractive.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | December 23, 2021 4:07 PM |
The reality is most shoppers look like these mannequins and want a realistic idea of what the clothes will look like when they purchase and wear them.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | December 23, 2021 4:11 PM |
[quote]The reality is most shoppers look like these mannequins and want a realistic idea of what the clothes will look like when they purchase and wear them.
That actually runs counter to decades of marketing theory, so I'd actually be interested if this turns out to be true.
Aspiration generally is a lot stronger a purchasing inducement than reality.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | December 23, 2021 4:14 PM |
R32 You are incorrect
by Anonymous | reply 34 | December 23, 2021 4:16 PM |
R7- That model is called the LENS DUNHAM.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | December 23, 2021 4:28 PM |

I think this is correct. These kinds of things (plumper mannequins) don't just happen without marketing research.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | December 23, 2021 4:31 PM |
the whole idea of marketing is to make you think you will look nice and slim like the mannequin. Those mannequins are too realistic and make the clothing look awful. I don't think anyone wants to believe that they look like that.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | December 23, 2021 4:38 PM |
Well, it works on me. I'm not skinny like the aspirational mannequins; I don't have a gut like the mannequins at OP. I'm somewhere in the middle. I do look at the pictures (ordering online) of the clothing as worn by a more chunky model.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | December 23, 2021 4:42 PM |
Is that what is considered "Datalounge fit-fat"?
If so, this should be lauded! Those mannequins look perfect to model the latest in fashionable caftans.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | December 23, 2021 4:54 PM |
Those mannequins are beyond fit fat and beyond Dad bod. I see moobs and even the posture (red shirt) looks sluggish.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | December 23, 2021 5:02 PM |
r14 is triggered. Here is a mannequin of suitable girth for her.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | December 23, 2021 5:51 PM |
These mannequins aren't "promoting obesity" or whatever. There's nothing about them that leads people to think this is a good look they should aspire to achieve.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | December 23, 2021 6:25 PM |
R32, if a shipper is so curious why can't they use a fitting room? Probably because they were shopping online or didn't care to take the time to try on if in a store. Reiterating and reinforcing the 'it's fine to look like a sloppy mess' rationale at work when these mannequins were considered a smart, or rather, a 'more inclusive' move.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | December 23, 2021 6:39 PM |
^SHOPPER
by Anonymous | reply 44 | December 23, 2021 6:40 PM |
On the flip side, some of the mannequins in sporting goods stores are super ripped, v-shaped torso, jutting pecs, high asses. And some even have fairly big bulges now. They used to all be like Ken dolls. Lol. Should mannequins be aspirational or realistic?
by Anonymous | reply 45 | December 23, 2021 7:11 PM |
R36 You are misinformed.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | December 23, 2021 8:09 PM |
Thanks for the laughs OP. I laughed so hard the wine I was drinking shot out of my nostrils.😂
by Anonymous | reply 47 | December 23, 2021 8:11 PM |
Nothing hotter than a bloated belly on a man
