I participated in the Mask Wars of 2020. It was undeniably exhausting and exasperating. Masks work. Other cultures have adopted it without much trouble. I would visit Toronto for work about twenty years ago during SARS. Masks were prevalent. Why Americans can’t do it is obvious. This special breed of American is so selfish and convinced of their own worth, that nothing else matters. Your body, your choice? Your face, my fist. Mask up, cunts. Maybe we can all find common ground if we think about this a little differently. We all wear shoes, right? And what is a shoe except a mask for your foot? We recently had a small furniture delivery that required movers. It was our last scheduled contact with anyone before the start of a self-imposed lockdown due to Omicron madness and my immunosuppression. Two young guys showed up sans masks after previously pledging to wear them.

When I met them outside and handed them masks, they looked insulted but put them on. They continually fucked with the masks during the short time they were here. One suggested this was a plot to enrich mask manufacturers, asking "Who really benefits?"

I replied "Those of us who don't die. We lost a grandma to COVID." I'm sure they were maskless for their next appointment if the client allowed it.

Masks are compulsory on public transport where I live. I was on a bus the other day when a man, who was not wearing a mask, added insult to injury by quite aggressively slamming a window shut and glaring at people sitting behind him. The other passengers gave him hell, and he got off after two stops. He had a suitcase and was headed in the direction of one of the main railway stations in the city. He had a very steep climb for the the rest of the way.

Are these diseased traitors still trying to push the anti mask nonsense?

I was senselessly harassed at my local Taco Bell for not wearing shoes. This was a recently remodeled Taco Bell, so I expected a little more in the service department. “No shirt, no shoes, no service.” No shit! So 1987. After not being served my Nacho Bel Grande (with extra steak and liquid cheese), I rushed home to do mine own research. I found that shoes contain high levels of the same plastic found in Taco Bell’s own nacho cheese. I want to eat that cheese, not wear it! Hypocrites!!! #FOOTFREEDOM

What are you talking about, R28? There is only freedom of choice if the negative consequences of your choices only affect you. I have a real problem when a misinformed fool chooses not to wear a mask and has the potential to pass on the virus to someone else who may get very ill or die. I have a real problem with people refusing the vaccine not for medical reasons but because they're misinformed. They keep the virus circulating and mutating. Obviously, new variants may eventually show up that make current vaccines ineffective. If the people who refuse to wear masks or get vaccinated only caused problems for themselves, I couldn't care less what they did.

These anti-maskers are always going on about “freedom,” and what r28 is saying is for all their talk of freedom, they’re not respecting our freedoms to choose to wear a mask.
