It is a sad and depressing subreddit. Most of the posts apparently come from retail and service workers which is understandable because that kind of work is just awful these days.

Yes, I wish more people would read it. We're living through a revolution in the U.S. labor market and it's fascinating and important with respect to Americans' standard of living.

I do. Not everyone on there is a lowly service worker. There are also gainfully employed professionals - techies, lawyers, executives - who are burned out or have been burnt who also support this movement. I suppose I’m one of them. I’m 50, reasonably successful in advertising, but totally burned out. I feel like a pile of ashes after putting in 60+hours a week for the last 25 years.
This shit is for the birds.

Yes, I am happily subscribed, but rarely comment, and have never posted. I wholeheartedly support it. I think the myth that humans have to be productive is absolutely disgusting.
I’m at a super demanding Silicon Valley job and it makes me happy to see other people are sick of this shit as well. I’m also “lying flat” in my current career, because I have no aspirations for power and wealth at the cost of my sanity and my personal enjoyment outside of work.

There’s a lot of “They cancelled my vacation so I left with no notice and they lost a 3 million dollar contract” stories which I side-eye, but I enjoy the legitimate gripes.
