I’m Really Sick of Hearing That Prisencolinensinainciusol song On That Captain Morgan Rum Ad

It was bad enough when it was used on the third season of Fargo. Now it’s all over commercial tv. It’s 50 fucking year old gibberish

I love that song and both of the Celentano videos that go with them. The original one in the school room and then the giganticly staged one.

WTF was that? Someone likes that crap?

by Anonymousreply 2December 19, 2021 9:40 PM

Needs more Raffaella Carrà.

So let me get this straight, OP: you're complaining you're sick of this song, and so... you're linking to it so we can hear it?? WTF??

by Anonymousreply 4December 19, 2021 11:27 PM

I think it's pretty funky.

[quote] WTF was that

It’s comedian/musician Adriano Celentano in1970s Italy doing a song of what rock and roll sung in English sounds like to him. He plays a musical-language teacher teaching his unanimously sexy female students to imitate English language rock and roll. He seems to heavily base his vocals on Johnny Rivers. His wife Claudia Mori is the brunette who sings a solo & plays harmonica in the video.

The females singing the “chorus” are what is used as background in the rum commercial.

Celantano dances on these grapes pretty well.

It's got a sweet funky beat and nonsense lyrics, making it perfect background music for tv and film.

I love this clip of the song on YouTube. It's a great song!

She's fabulous, R3.

Did you realize that in the black-and-white version, there are really only about a dozen dancers? The set is a hall of mirrors.

I'm with R1 in liking it, the rock video version more than the schoolroom.

by Anonymousreply 11December 21, 2021 2:15 AM

I'm with R3, the Raffaella Carrà version is fabulous.

R7 - he is really sexy. I love how they fit a black mammy into the video.
