Horrible People Who Got Away With It

I was just reading today's Parade in the LA Times. The cover is a memorial to celebrities we lost this year, followed by an article with a few notables profiled. One of them is Rush Limbaugh. It occurred to me what a horrible, racist person he was; how his horrible rhetoric influenced and brought out the worst in Americans; how tremendously divisive he was, and his very large role in planting the seeds that grew into today's MAGAts.

His last year of his life, he was given the Presidential Medal of Freedom by that Fat Orange Piece of Shit Cunt who he vigorously supported and helped to gain prominence. Yeah, Limbaugh died of cancer, but I feel that's a small penalty for all evil he released. Basically, he got away with it!

Who else?

So according the OP he is horrible because you don't agree with him.

What a tool.

by Anonymousreply 1December 19, 2021 6:21 PM

R1 you don't think Rush Limbaugh was a horrible person? That speaks volumes about you.

by Anonymousreply 2December 19, 2021 6:23 PM

R1 Rush was horrible person. If you don't think so then you're also a piece of shit.

by Anonymousreply 3December 19, 2021 6:26 PM

Exhibit A

He got early release from prison this year and still vehemently denies the allegations from numerous women.

Rush Limbaugh was apparently high half the time (pain meds).

by Anonymousreply 5December 19, 2021 6:46 PM

O.J. Simpson and Casey Anthony are perhaps the two most well known examples.

by Anonymousreply 6December 19, 2021 6:49 PM

Trump - crimes against humanity and traitor to the nation.

by Anonymousreply 7December 19, 2021 6:51 PM

The OJ jury got it right. Mark Fuhrman however got away with being a genocidal racist and can now be found on Fox News.

Didn't Rush have a propensity for underaged boys, hence his constant flights to the Dominican Republic?

[quote] So according the OP he is horrible because you don't agree with him

There is a difference between opposing politics versus being hateful. He had a very large platform to spread his shit as well.

Rupert Murdoch and the Koch brothers.

I'm going to add Roy Cohn, despite AIDS being his commeupence. Had he never contracted HIV, I'm convinced most conservatives would've continued to hold him in high regard, despite his disbarment five weeks before his death.

Asia Argento

Many people believe she drove her partner, Anthony Bourdain, to suicide. She also was accused of sexually assaulting a 17-year-old actor (Jimmy Bennett) who played her son in a movie she acted in and directed 10 years earlier.

OJ. Wins the thread.

Mark Wahlberg

You can be a violent racist and still become a big name star worth hundreds of millions anyway.

by Anonymousreply 19December 19, 2021 7:15 PM

WTF is with morons like R1?

Man, how much of a low-life scumbag must you be that you treat someone like Limbaugh asmerely a matter of "disagreeing" with him? Like we're talking about funding for education.

Yes, R1, we "disagree" with being a vile parasite who makes your living spreading so much hate and lies and fear-mongering over decades towards others to the point that it actually contributes to the demise of the nation as a whole.

by Anonymousreply 24December 19, 2021 7:21 PM

Not George Zimmerman. If you'll recall that went to trial and it was clearly established that it was self-defense. You cannot bash someone's head on concrete and act surprised when oops he had a gun and shoots you.

R37 Robert Blake was an Emmy and Golden Globe winning actor. He starred in popular films like In Cold Blood and TV shows like Barretta. His last film role was in David Lynch’s Lost Highway. He was not a complete nobody.

No, you fucking moron. As related by a number of witnesses (those who saw and heard the events) and demonstrative evidence corroborating Zimmerman's testimony.

For fuck's sake OJ Simpson was one of the biggest sports heroes of all time and a huge celebrity, he also had a successful acting career. Robert Blake was a run-of-the-mill 70s tv actor who had one semi-hit series and never did anything else. Nobody remembered him. You're a fucking idiot.

by Anonymousreply 45December 19, 2021 7:52 PM

OJ Simpson is the most egregious example of someone who literally got away with murder.

Michael Nigg (April 28, 1969 – September 8, 1995)[1] was an aspiring actor who worked as a waiter at a Beverly Hills restaurant. He was shot and killed during an apparent robbery attempt in Hollywood.[2] The Los Angeles Police Department later arrested three suspects but soon released them for lack of evidence. No other suspects have ever been identified, and the killing remains unsolved.[3]

The case attracted some media coverage at the time, because Nigg had formerly worked at the Mezzaluna restaurant in Brentwood, where he had been a friend of Ronald Goldman's. Almost 15 months earlier, Goldman and Nicole Brown Simpson had been found slain at her home near the restaurant, after he had gone there to return her mother's eyeglasses, which had been left behind at Mezzaluna. Simpson's ex-husband, former football star O. J. Simpson, had been charged with the murders, and his highly publicized trial had reached closing arguments.

Simpson, who has consistently professed his innocence in the Brown and Goldman killings, was acquitted of the murder charges almost a month after Nigg's death.[a] Alternative theories of the murders, supposedly shared by Simpson, have suggested they were related to drug trafficking in the Los Angeles area,[4] and that Nigg's was as well; Nigg apparently lived very well for a waiter,[5] and there were some allegations he, too, had been involved in the drug trade while working at the Mezzaluna branch in Colorado before.[6] Nigg and Goldman, it has also been noted, were not the only waiters at Mezzaluna to be the victims of criminal activity during the mid-1990s.[6]

Brett Ross Cantor (November 5, 1967[1] – July 30, 1993) was an American record label executive, concert promoter and nightclub owner. He was born in New York to Rhonda and Paul Cantor, who managed acts such as B. J. Thomas and Dionne Warwick. In the early 1970s, he and his family moved to the Los Angeles area. In the early 1990s, he served as an A&R executive for the Chrysalis Music Group.

After signing Rage Against the Machine, Cantor left Chrysalis to work briefly as an agent and then a promoter, putting together some of the largest concert and dance events in the city at that time.[2] He also entered the nightclub business, taking a 10% stake in Dragonfly, a club known at the time for its 1970s and hip hop theme nights. At that time he was involved romantically with actress Rose McGowan.[3]

Cantor was found dead in his Hollywood home on July 30, 1993; he had been stabbed repeatedly in the upper body. No suspect has ever been identified and the investigation remains open. His death was the subject of renewed interest a year later, when, during preliminary motions in the trial of O. J. Simpson for the killings of his former wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and Ron Goldman, Judge Lance Ito ruled that defense lawyers could have access to the investigatory file in the Cantor case. The defense had argued that the similarity of the three killings suggested the same person or persons had committed them.[4] It has also been argued in books on the case that Cantor knew both Goldman and Nicole, and thus they may have been killed over mutual involvement in possibly illegal business activities.[5][6]

Why shouldn't "white people" or [/italic]any[/italic] people bring up OJ in a a topic like this? The OJ trial was a global news phenomenon that transfixed the world, almost on the level of the 9-11 terrorist attack. Robert Blake and Claus Von Bulow were no comparison. Black people would suggest OJ's race played a part in that media obsession (and truthfully that can't be downplayed) but OJ was a fixture on Monday Night Football and a celebrity actor in huge films. He was incredibly high profile and to minimize that is a kind of reverse racism. Does anyone really believe OJ only became truly famous after his trial?

by Anonymousreply 60December 19, 2021 9:00 PM

Anyone who uses the phrase "reverse racism" is only acknowledging that historical racism from white people is very real.

So much for being the master race!
