Neither was ruined. They were always that way. Charlotte was always a bit more prudish but got worse with marriage. Carrie was always self centered and annoying but for some reason someone on here tries to rewrite it even though the show is available to watch.

Charlotte was less cartoonish. Nixon’s acting was too ‘stagey.’ She grew the most as an actress during the run. SJP had a hot body then got too skinny and toned. Samantha dressed like a real PR person and not like a hooker.

I actually liked Nixon's acting in the first episodes. She was very much at ease with her role. As opposed to her cringeworthy performance in "Just Like That".

During season one? Because by season 2 the Charlotte we all know was around.

Miranda grew more caring and less cynical as the show progressed. That was her entire story arc in season 6, which won her the Emmy. She kept softening up as the show went on.

They all looked rather bovine those first couple of seasons. One cringeworthy scene is where Charlotte winks at the woman at the party in the episode where her BF wanted to have a threeway.

R13- On the first season of SATC Miranda seemed VERY Lesbian. Her hair was DYCKY and she was always ANGRY.

It goes off the rails almost immediately S3-1. Charlotte goes robo bride-to-be. KC gets forced into the sexual gymnastics nude scenes. It's a pretty abrupt transition. You have to wonder if the roots of KC's issues lie here. Carrie starts wearing the crazy lady clothes.

Season 3 was still under original leadership. SJP took over season 4.

Also, S3 is when SJP loses her youthful prettiness. She did have rocking abs back in the day and I gotta say, forget the obnoxious character, SJP has great comedic timing.

The episode with Samantha and the Asian housekeeper was blatantly racist even when it came out. Of course, most DLers would find it super funny.

I just watched an episode where Sam Jones met Sam Jones and he came over to her house and fucked her. He basically forced his way into her house... through the lens of now it seemed... it would cause people to lose their shit now, although it probably would never be filmed now.

Just got to S4, Ep 2. Everyone is now hateful.

There is a lot of sexual harassment and some not-rape-rape in the early episodes.
