Do you send Christmas cards to your doctor and dentist?
Is it odd or even desperate to send a holiday or Christmas card to one's doctor, dentist, optomotrist or even psychiatrist?
I sometines see such cards displayed in their office, so maybe it's from patients or -- maybe just from local businesses.
Any doctors or dentists or other health professionals here who've received cards?
I guess we don't even know if they're Jewish, or whatever they celebrate, but would it maybe even be an iinsult to some of them to send a card?
I assume most everyone enjoys this appreciation from patients?

Absolutely, and tipping is appropriate.

My local Italian restaurant displays all the Christmas cards they received from their customers on the wall.

Scotland here. All the dentists at my practice are Muslim, and two of the ladies wear the veil, so I would imagine they are pretty observant. I have seen Christmas cards from patients on display in the reception area, so they clearly have no problem with it.

OP here.
I would be sending cards to a few providers I've had for over five years. I probably wouldn't for a newer provider; that may seem awkward to them.
And maybe just older patients like me would send cards. It seems the newer generation doesn't seem to send birthday cards or holiday cards at all, or likely not to the extent of their elders?
so why would they send cards to healhcare providers?

I was considering doing this to my eye doctor.

It’s considered “extra” as the kids say.

Not everyone "celebrates" Xmas, the fakest holdiday ever invented. It would be insanely offensive to send your crap to professionals, OP.

Also, wouldn’t it violate patient-doctor confidentiality to display them publicly?

FFS who sends Christmas cards at all anymore?! It's not 1950! No one cares about Christmas cards except for old ladies and effeminate eldergays. If a patient sent me a Christmas card who wasn't an old lady, I'd think they had a mental illness or an ulterior motive. If a friend or colleague or family members sends a card I reciprocate, but I never send one first.

I sent a Christmas card to my Jewish lawyer and he appreciated it. As a son of a dentist, I can tell you that they love getting cards from patients.
