Noah Schnapp getting accepted to UPenn

Good for him, but why do he and his family react to the news like it's his only ticket out of the inner city ghetto?

Dennis and Dee got into UPenn. Psychology majors. So did Trump (Wharton).

Honestly though, it's a good school. Ivy League if that means anything nowadays. I grew up in PA, if somebody got in, it was a big deal.

by Anonymousreply 1December 17, 2021 10:56 PM

Who is she sweetie? Like I am not being sarcastic

by Anonymousreply 2December 17, 2021 10:58 PM

Trannie?

by Anonymousreply 3December 17, 2021 10:59 PM

Wow, our little gayling is going to college.

by Anonymousreply 4December 17, 2021 11:03 PM

Don't people who went there call it "Penn", not "UPenn"? Penn as opposed to Penn State

by Anonymousreply 5December 17, 2021 11:07 PM

Penn is a safety school at best. Post a video of him getting into UVA, then I'll be impressed.

by Anonymousreply 6December 17, 2021 11:09 PM

r5 No. Penn State is Penn State. My sister went, very nice town, State College. Penn can be UPenn or just "Penn". It is pretty much in a ghetto. It matters because people are snobby.

r6 Very funny. Sorry, the Confederacy lost. Duke is a safety school. UVA isn't important to anyone who isn't some genteel southerner with pretensions of Southern aristocracy.

by Anonymousreply 7December 17, 2021 11:12 PM

WHO???

by Anonymousreply 8December 17, 2021 11:19 PM

UVA has some very highly respected faculty but basically it's a big flagship state school. Not quite in the same league as Michigan but with way more pretense.

by Anonymousreply 9December 17, 2021 11:20 PM

I always called it UPenn when I went to school in Philly. They had great parties.

by Anonymousreply 10December 17, 2021 11:21 PM

r2 r8

He's an actor on "Stranger Things" (he played the boy who went missing in the first season). He's also huge on TikTok, with 20 million followers.

by Anonymousreply 11December 17, 2021 11:23 PM

The pool of 17 year olds is shrinking rapidly after the millenial bust. Good school and hard to get into.

by Anonymousreply 12December 17, 2021 11:33 PM

Ok well good on him. I honestly thought he was that bottom that gets fucked by that guy that was a helix porn star? He's a hairdresser. Hahaha anyway

by Anonymousreply 13December 17, 2021 11:33 PM

r9 UVA isn't as bad as Hampden Sydney. That is where the real inbred aristocratic southern gentlemen-dummies go.

by Anonymousreply 14December 17, 2021 11:54 PM

I'm actually surprised he seemed like a himbo in every interview I've seen.

by Anonymousreply 15December 18, 2021 7:59 PM

Noah can't be gay. He said he has a crush on Zendaya. 🤓

by Anonymousreply 16January 4, 2022 9:31 PM

At Dalton and at Princeton we called it "Penn"

Probably because the odds of someone referring to Penn State were pretty slim.

It was a joke at Princeton that certain guys there would tell you they went to "Wharton' (not "Penn") when you asked where they went to school and then stand back as if to accept what they assumed would be the inevitable compliment.

So it was always fun to look confused and ask "Is that near Boston?"

UVa is somewhat hard for in-state kids to get into, harder for out of state, but since they've kept the in-state percentage pretty high, it's not that big a deal.

Duke, OTOH, has assumed near-Ivy status as Northeasterners flock there and, as competition for ALL colleges has ramped up, the number of schools considered "top colleges" has expanded too.

As in it is a common refrain for people over 40 that in 2022, they'd never get accepted into whatever Ivy or similar college they attended with the high school record they had.

by Anonymousreply 17January 4, 2022 9:42 PM

It’s a good school and all but was his other acceptance letter from Westfield State?

by Anonymousreply 18January 4, 2022 9:54 PM

The nose is unfortunate.

Remember the IG post he made once about some random older woman cutting up his food and feeding it to him? The fuck was that all about?

by Anonymousreply 19January 4, 2022 10:00 PM

[quote] The nose is unfortunate.

I mean he's Jewish. I find him kind of cute though. Least the pencil neck has filled out now. He looked like a giraffe around the time of the last season.

Ha! I thought he was some Tik-Tok kid and just googled him.

He goes to Scarsdale.

I suspect there are a dozen kids from Scarsdale who wind up at Penn alongside him.

by Anonymousreply 21January 4, 2022 11:30 PM

Him launching his own hazelnut spread was just...odd.

by Anonymousreply 22January 5, 2022 12:43 AM

r22 I'd guess extra credit to pad out his application to business school. Plus all his castmates are cashing in so may as well join them. Brown hawks overpriced makeup to her fangirls, Wolfhard gets them to buy his shitty music. At least vegan Nutella is more... imaginative.

by Anonymousreply 23January 5, 2022 1:12 AM

Oh he was already cashing in, he's quite influencer-like in taking on sponsored shit and so on (and indeed, in posting videos like this). It's just such an odd choice, at least make up and the absolute worst music are somewhat on-brand for those two.

And if it is for business school, not sure ripping off the design of a competitor will work in his favour

He just likes Nutella I guess. Though yeah if it ever takes off he should probably expect copyright lawsuits. Though I just checked and its $26 a jar so no danger of that.

Oh he actually explains why here ( the not fleecing his fans reason anyway)

[quote] I'm going to be honest, my favorite snack used to be 'that' chocolate hazelnut spread. You know the one. And I ate it on everything. It was my comfort food, my snack of choice and my breakfast staple.

[quote] I was shocked and brutally bummed out when I peeked behind the curtain and learned about what went into the product and even worse, what it took away from us. Hazelnuts aren't the main ingredient and the amount of sugar alone made me realize I wasn't doing myself any favors. And ultimately, palm oil is responsible for mass deforestation and that was something I couldn't support.

[quote] I refused to imagine a world without my favorite snack so I started working on TBH, an honest hazelnut cocoa spread that is better for you and better for the planet… oh and it’s frickin delicious.

[quote] Thanks for joining me on this crazy ride. I can’t wait for each of you to try our honest snack.

R14 my ex ofsny year went to Hampden Sydney. He hated it. All those families with the delusion of Southern aristocracy.

by Anonymousreply 27January 5, 2022 2:08 AM

Penn's racist, homophobic, Jewish, white supremacist professor still has a job.

"It’s not Wax’s first time facing backlash over racist or discriminatory remarks. In 2006, faculty at Penn Law rebuked her public advocacy against same-sex marriage. In a 2017 interview on the Glenn Show, Wax said, “I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Black student graduate in the top quarter of the class, and rarely, rarely in the top half.” (Ruger denied that this was true and Wax was barred from teaching first-year law courses.)

And in 2019, students at Penn Law called for Wax’s termination after she was caught on camera saying the United States “will be better off with more whites and fewer nonwhites,” the Pennsylvania Capitol-Star reported."

The 2020 acceptance rate at Penn is 9%. The 2020 acceptance rate at UVA is 22%.

It’s impressive he got into Penn.

by Anonymousreply 29January 5, 2022 3:12 AM

^^ Before you “oh dear” me… yes, I should have used past tense.

by Anonymousreply 30January 5, 2022 3:14 AM

I went to UVA. It's not a charm school.

r33

I wonder if they fucked afterwards.

by Anonymousreply 35February 21, 2022 12:35 AM

It was either Penn or Hudson University.

by Anonymousreply 36February 21, 2022 12:48 AM

R35 Pedo much?

by Anonymousreply 37February 21, 2022 12:54 AM
