She was GREAT as queen elizabeth

She was pretty good as Elizabeth I but that's because she naturally comes off as cold. She ruins movies for me.

I'll always remember her best for the interview she gave when she was banging on about women on screen not being able to age and having to be prefect all the time, etc, etc. In a rare example of being called out, the journo asked her how she reconciled this with her Armani and SKI-II promotions where she is heavily retouched and filtered. She was really fucked off and told him in her best intellectual tone that the the question was "redundant".

Blanchett has the same long, horse-like face as the late Kay Walsh.
Kay played Nancy in the best version of Oliver Twist, as was married to Sir David Lean.

Do you have video of that?

She's so fucking pretentious while being fucking dumb. When she got her Oscar from Daniel Day-Lewis, she said "receiving this from DDL just exacerbates the honor!"
She's a total bitch. Can't stand her arch, affected acting. She gets all the roles Tilda Swinton should be getting.

R6 did you post that exact same comment on the last CB thread?
by Anonymous | reply 7 | December 13, 2021 8:47 PM |
No, R7, I said I was glad that Cate Blanckett is getting all the roles meant for that Martian woman named 'Tilda Swinton'.

Cate Blanchett and George Clooney are Virtue-Signalling, Champagne Socialist, Billionaires who hate their own country.

Cate totally ruined that scene by her ridiculous acting.

[quote] Cate Blanchett is white trash
You're talking about a character in a movie.
That entity known as 'Cate Blanchett' is just an impersonator or a rag doll.

I liked her in Charlotte Gray.

Love her

I used to like her —playing Kate Hepburn and as that confused poseur in the Ripley film.
Now not so sure she's palling around with Clooney. They've both got country houses on the waterfront near London.

She wasn’t too bad in the Benjamin Button movie. Although I loathed her role in the Aviator. The real Kate would have been disgusted.

I loved Tilda Swinton from the first time I saw her in "Orlando", R6. She's wonderful. And as far as I can tell, she's not a cunt. And her career has definitely been more interesting than that of Blanchett.

Tilda Swinton = The Martian

JFC r10 she makes Al Pacino's acting looks subtle. Geez....

Blankett matches her style of performing to the style of the movie.
But she does appear in too much trash. One film per year is sufficient.

R21 Cate loves money. That's why she takes all of those film roles.
She's trying to get it while she can.

Cates half American. Her father was from Texas, while her mother is Australian. I was kinda surprised when she said that on one of the late night shows.

She does the same performance in virtually every film except maybe Blue Jasmine and Don't Look Up.

R23 Blanchett worked on a film in Austin for Terence Malick. She gave an interview to a local journalist who asked her about her father, the Texan. He asked her if she'd looked up any of his family while in Texas.
She couldn't have been nastier. Her father died very young of a heart defect. So she complains to the interviewer that he died and left her and her mother broke. How he would lie in bed for weeks watching Western movies on TV which she hated. What a layabout, huh? What a bitch. Just vile.
