It's better than that fucking Time After Time shit she has run into the ground by performing over and over and over and over and over....

that may explain why it was the only top 10 hit she didn't perform while in concert. she apparently will do it sometimes now.

I love the song - it's pure nostalgia. The lyrics make no sense and the video was crap.

I agree with R5. If I never have to hear that horrid "Time After Time" song again, I'll be glad.

The problem is not that the music is bad, she doesn't even think that, in her autobiography she said that she had many problems during the recording, including with the title, the label insisted on putting "The Goonies Are" against her will.

She only had like 8 top 10 hits it’s not like she had Madonna/Mariah/Whitney number of hit songs

I never thought this song was all that bad. I loved the movie as a kid and it was a fun theme song. God knows it wasn't any more embarrassing than her WWF antics with Capt Lou Albano.

The Goonies song doesn't have much of a hook for me. It's just a bunch of non-memorable lyrics. She did something similar for the Bob's Burgers episode that is spoofing the Goonies.
