But it's better than anything else she did except "Change of Heart."

No it’s not, she’s right. It’s trash.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | December 13, 2021 3:49 PM |
Why did she record it then? Its a fun song, nothing to be ashamed of.

r3
Probably for the bucks and it came between her two albums so it kept her in the public eye

It's better than that fucking Time After Time shit she has run into the ground by performing over and over and over and over and over....
by Anonymous | reply 5 | December 13, 2021 4:11 PM |
that may explain why it was the only top 10 hit she didn't perform while in concert. she apparently will do it sometimes now.

You said it

I love the song - it's pure nostalgia. The lyrics make no sense and the video was crap.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | December 20, 2021 3:54 PM |
I agree with R5. If I never have to hear that horrid "Time After Time" song again, I'll be glad.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | December 20, 2021 3:56 PM |
The problem is not that the music is bad, she doesn't even think that, in her autobiography she said that she had many problems during the recording, including with the title, the label insisted on putting "The Goonies Are" against her will.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | December 20, 2021 4:01 PM |
She only had like 8 top 10 hits it’s not like she had Madonna/Mariah/Whitney number of hit songs
by Anonymous | reply 11 | December 20, 2021 4:02 PM |
She only had 8 hits….
What a total cunt r10 is
by Anonymous | reply 12 | December 20, 2021 4:11 PM |
R11 you’re an asshole. 8 hits is a lot
by Anonymous | reply 13 | December 20, 2021 4:12 PM |
Time After Time would have been fine had it not been played to death on the radio and used in a good 50 soundtracks.

Nuts. She's So Unusual was a superb album. It was diminishing returns after that, though.
I never thought this song was all that bad. I loved the movie as a kid and it was a fun theme song. God knows it wasn't any more embarrassing than her WWF antics with Capt Lou Albano.

Aw I love the Goonies song

How does she feel about Hole In My Heart (All The Way To China)?

Holiday 2013 GAP model, Cyndi Lauper?
With DL Fave, Billy Porter?

[quote]Lauper was asked by Steven Spielberg to be the musical director for the album. It was Lauper's idea to include a then-relatively unknown female group, The Bangles (the band would become better known the following year with their second album). The Bangles also had a small cameo in the video for "The Goonies 'R' Good Enough". Lauper played the song throughout her True Colors World Tour, but refused to play the song from 1987 onwards until pressure from fans finally made her add the song back into her set list, beginning with her True Colors Tour in 2007 and 2008.
It's a great song.

Sally's Pigeons and her cover of I'm Gonna Be Strong are her best.

Vibes! I don't know how she feels about it, but Jeff Goldblum would rather forget about it.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | December 20, 2021 5:12 PM |
Didn't she do a version of Iko Iko on one of her albums? God, that was garbage. I always skipped over that track. Yucko.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | December 20, 2021 5:17 PM |
I love Hole In My Heart.
The Goonies song doesn't have much of a hook for me. It's just a bunch of non-memorable lyrics. She did something similar for the Bob's Burgers episode that is spoofing the Goonies.
