What is your favorite television show of all time?

Mine is "Lost."

by Anonymousreply 77December 13, 2021 8:36 AM

When I was a kid my favorite tv show was Land Of The Lost (1974)

by Anonymousreply 1December 10, 2021 7:34 PM

Tie between Seinfeld and Mst3k. Mad men if we're doing drama.

by Anonymousreply 2December 10, 2021 7:42 PM

Can we have an Apples and Oranges discussion?

The two best television series ever, in my opinion, were the jobs done on Brideshead Revisited and The Jewel in the Crown.

But those aren't "shows", really.

And I'm British, so I also have an additional catalogue to choose from.

The Avengers . . . The Prisoner . . . more lately, No Offence and Jack Taylor - Luther - one offs like State of Play, The State Within, Page Eight, The Game

On American television, Twilight Zone.

And, as I lived in America and still have close friends, including in New York City, I saw quite a bit of "Seinfeld" and adored it.

Go figure, as you lot say.

by Anonymousreply 16December 10, 2021 8:11 PM

I was a dedicated follower of Roseanne even with its shoddy last season. Plus OZ, True Blood, Six Feet Under in the 90s.

In the 1970s I watched the CBS Saturday Night Lineup: All in the Family, MTM, Bob Newhart, and Carol Burnett.

Lost was the last network series I watched regularly.

by Anonymousreply 17December 10, 2021 8:17 PM

The first season of Twin Peaks, earlier Simpsons seasons and Roseanne.

by Anonymousreply 18December 10, 2021 8:20 PM

I’m not sure if I can narrow it down to one. I rewatch Futurama all the time though and still pick up new details and gags each time. It’s real comfort viewing.

by Anonymousreply 19December 10, 2021 8:25 PM

Won't somebody think of The Me?

by Anonymousreply 20December 10, 2021 8:26 PM

[bold]‘Six Feet Under’ Follow-Up in Early Development at HBO (EXCLUSIVE)[/bold]

UPDATED: A follow-up to “Six Feet Under” is in very early development at HBO, Variety has learned exclusively from sources.

At this time, no writer is attached to the project. Likewise, no plotline has been decided, meaning it could be a reboot or more of a sequel series following up on existing characters from the show in the present day, but no decision has been made.

Original series creator Alan Ball and executive producers Bob Greenblatt and David Janollari are all attached to executive produce the new project. At this time it is unclear if the project will move beyond the discussions phase, particularly given that the original series finale is held up as one of the best and most definitive of all time.

I write "Lost" as my favorite when favorite tv show is one of my security questions because it is easy to type.

by Anonymousreply 57December 11, 2021 8:00 AM

The first season of Broadchurch was perfect.

by Anonymousreply 58December 11, 2021 12:13 PM

Tales of the City.

by Anonymousreply 59December 12, 2021 4:26 AM

Are You Being Served? was campy as hell, but it has never failed to make me laugh - no matter how down I might have been feeling.

by Anonymousreply 60December 12, 2021 4:30 AM

Fawlty Towers and Arrested Development made me laugh the most and the most consistently.

by Anonymousreply 61December 12, 2021 4:33 AM

The Carol Channing Show would have been everybody's favorite if it had gone beyond the pilot stage...

...because it was CORNy!

Make fun all you want, but my favorite tv show of all time is "Mama's Family".

by Anonymousreply 63December 12, 2021 4:59 AM

by Anonymousreply 64December 12, 2021 5:29 AM

Dallas

by Anonymousreply 65December 12, 2021 6:40 AM

Picket Fences and My so-called Life are two of them.

by Anonymousreply 66December 12, 2021 7:11 AM

Favourite: Frasier. It’s perfection - clever, literate, farcical with a great cast of secondary characters who come in to keep it fresh.

Runner-up: Game of Thrones. This would be the winner if it wasn’t abundantly clear that the show runners just lost all interest halfway through the last season. The consequent drop in quality was a sad way for a brilliant show to end.

by Anonymousreply 67December 12, 2021 7:21 AM

The original Law & Order and The Ed Sullivan Show. Sullivan had EVERYTHING and EVERYBODY.

by Anonymousreply 68December 12, 2021 7:21 AM

Breaking Bad

by Anonymousreply 69December 12, 2021 10:41 AM

Enlightened.

by Anonymousreply 70December 12, 2021 12:12 PM

Oz. So much male nudity! Luke Perry strutting in the locker room. Kirk Acevedo full bush in the shower. Chris Meloni letting it hang every chance he gets. So many more...

by Anonymousreply 71December 13, 2021 12:25 AM

I've had favorites at different points in my life. I still look upon all of them with fondness.

The Twilight Zone (1959-64)

The Outer Limits (1963)

Lost in Space (1965-68)

Star Trek (1966-69)

The Prisoner (1967)

Night Gallery (1970-73)

Etc...

by Anonymousreply 72December 13, 2021 7:25 AM
