Sure most of us know this. But I think there are still a lot of clever repertoire limits, vocal tricks and gimmicks, and smoke and mirrors.

Saw her do some Phantom of the Opera thing with all the past leading men. Bitch can sing.

She's probably one of the most versatile modern vocalists. Certainly the most adaptable within her peer group (Beyonce, J. Lo, etc.). I grew up with the Pussy Cat Dolls era and assumed she was just another pretty face, but she can do pop, Broadway, dance, R&B, rock, hip hop. I even saw her at a charity thing once and she was doing all these Bacharach / Warwrick tunes with just a piano accompaniment, beautifully measured.

It's weird she didn't become a bigger star because she can dance too, and is also very beautiful with a great bod (even though she's probably going a bit far with the procedures now). Maybe she'd do better if she was just emerging as an R&B songstress in this current mixed-race IG baddie era - her look is very 'in' now. Then again she seems a bit kooky in interviews and stuff. Sometimes I genuinely think she's stoned on the Masked Singer.

Really, her Dolls gimmick unfairly tainted her in the eyes of the sex-negative woman-hating moralising public, even though she never technically worked as a stripper or a burlesque girl.

Nic can sing rings around Adele, but she used to pretend to be a pole dancer in music videos, so her social worth is damaged. It’s fucked up and so sad.

With a man like this she appears to be doing well for herself.

Yeah, Nicole Scherzinger is an underrated vocalist. I think she got caught in this weird period in Pop that was like post-Christina but pre-Gaga where she just didn’t fit in. She has the goods in a classic pop star sense but maybe not enough theatricality. She has a mincing sultriness as a performer that is a bit too subtle for people. People want American pop stars to be twerking and half naked with their mics off.

If I had to guess, I’d say vocally she might come off a little too neutral. Almost like a glorified demo singer/session vocalist. Case in point: go listen to the original version of “Don’t Cha” before PCD got their hands on it. Nicole pretty gamely matches her voice to what’s on the original.

I think Nicole is a good example of how Pretty Privilege can hurt some women. I really think Nicole is/was too put together to be a pop star. But she did take PCD from an LA burlesque troupe to a multi platinum international girl group, so hats off to her.

I’ve always liked this performance by her. If you call the full production of this song, it’s a bit of a palate cleanser. It’s like, oh wow, this is actually a well-written pop song underneath the dance-pop production. And she nails all the nuances too. It’s at once sexy and bittersweet.

Nicole was supposed to open the Broadway revival as well but was offered mega $$$ to return to the X Factor and dropped out. She was replaced by Leona Lewis.

R12 hit the nail on the head - she’s a glorified demo singer / session singer / background singer. Her voice is vanilla and built for TV singing contests. She does not have a distinguishable voice, it has no personality. Clearly looking at some of the biggest pop stars like Madonna and Rihanna, amazing vocals don’t matter.

She’s just not a star and there’s something unlikable about her. She looks like the mean girl cheerleader who’s pretty and everyone likes but she’s a total bitch. And from what I know, that’s who she is.

Interscope and Jimmy Iovine put a big solo album together for her and nothing took off. Every single she put out was straight shit. And she was promoting and performing everywhere and no one cared.

Oh I forgot to mention, her solo album’s 800 singles performed so poorly they shelved the album.

I always loved when Melody from PCD would try and piss her off and upstage her at the end of “Buttons” and you could tell how furious Nicole was.

I really liked her solo song 'Baby Love'. But in hindsight it was a bit slight (more of a '4th single' than a leading one) and she was probably better off with a big dance pop banger to debut with. I don't know why they didn't get her better material, she was more than capable of carrying it.

She has actually hung on to her fame pretty well with these talent shows and the odd appearance here & there to remind everyone she can sing. I remember Andrew Lloyd Webber was incredibly pissed she didn't join the Broadway version of CATS but in hindsight she might have made the right choice. She's on a pretty big show currently in The Masked Singer and can build a relationship with the networks in a way she couldn't on Broadway.

“Baby Love” was the second first single after “Whatever U Like” flopped.

There were 2 other singles after that I think and they just cancelled the album due to lack of interest.

I think some leftover songs from the album made the next Pussycat Dolls album.

She's tremendously talented as a vocalist. But she has a bit of a cold and unkind energy. The general " rule" among pop starlets in America is that they have to come across as bubbly and sweet ( even if privately they are bitches on wheels). Someone like Cheryl Cole for example could never be a great success in the U.S. Or even Victoria Beckham.

However, I think that her first big song must have turned off a lot of potential female fans.

The Hooters/Pussycat Dolls persona isn't going to endear her to women, either.

I think it's just the lack of hits (outside of PCD), honestly. That T.I song is a dreadful first single. If she had a Bad Romance, Umbrella etc., I think she could have parlayed it into further success. You could give her every song on Fergie's 'The Duchess' album or Nelly Furtado's 'Loose' (which were big around the time of PCD) and she will do them just as well, if not better.

Perhaps some do find her unlikeable, but to me she comes across as very warm on all her talent shows and in interviews. She has a sense of humour and did that comedy/variety show with Neil Patrick Harris too, that showed she was up for anything. Was in the cutesy Disney movie Moana. It's a strange case. I am actually surprised Prince *didn't* attempt to produce something for her, she's just his type.

Her voice is very good - but it’s not distinctive. Rihanna has an unmistakably recognisably hers. Britney's voice, like her appearance, was coloured with her blend of sexuality and emotional vulnerability.

Nicole is like a prettier sounding Miley Cyrus. Both can sing. Both have ability. Both work hard… but the sound isn’t that interesting.

She just performed Aerosmith's "Dream On" on TMS. It's kind of been her week. With two live performances on television, showing her versatility. This one a big rock anthem - and also dressed kinda Tina Turner in Mad Max to match - and earlier in Broadway's Annie.

Also was featured on Glamour Magazine reacting to fans covering her songs. Her personality doesn't seem so bad, if a bit over the top and forced.
