What does the cut-out trend mean for body inclusivity?

From Stella McCartney to Saint Laurent, Supriya Lele to Balmain, cut-outs are here to stay, but how can the trend become more inclusive of all bodies?

What in the name of heaven is THAT ??? Is that her fucking tit ???

by Anonymousreply 1December 1, 2021 9:41 PM

That's just hideous.

by Anonymousreply 2December 1, 2021 9:42 PM

There have been cutouts before. The 60's, I think, It sells magazines or now "clicks" on social media. No one wears that shit. It's gross. "Mme, your tit is in the tartar."

by Anonymousreply 3December 1, 2021 9:44 PM

R3, speak English.

by Anonymousreply 4December 1, 2021 9:47 PM

"What in the name of heaven is THAT ???"

Parasitic twins are so HOT right now!

by Anonymousreply 5December 1, 2021 9:48 PM

I liked the tit in the tartar line.

by Anonymousreply 6December 1, 2021 9:48 PM

Cutout? More like busted out!

by Anonymousreply 7December 1, 2021 9:50 PM

She has a zit on her tit.

by Anonymousreply 8December 1, 2021 9:51 PM

Her titty looks like it’s wearing a Secret Service earpiece.

by Anonymousreply 9December 1, 2021 9:52 PM

Not everything has to be made 'inclusive'. If you're busted and have ruined your body with overeating, you need to work on being hot to work a dress like that. Can you imagine if balding and obese men were this entitled and felt they were owed 'hot status' and to have the world worship their beer guts? People would laugh, but these fat chicks are taken seriously. It's deranged.

by Anonymousreply 10December 1, 2021 9:54 PM

Jugs. Knockers. Wahboombahs.

by Anonymousreply 11December 1, 2021 9:54 PM

What am I looking at?

by Anonymousreply 12December 1, 2021 9:56 PM

Mmm, pancakes.

by Anonymousreply 13December 1, 2021 9:57 PM

The cut-out would only be hot on a hot guy's ass.

by Anonymousreply 14December 1, 2021 9:57 PM

Stella McCartney is to couture what her mother was to photography; without Daddy's last name, she'd be working in a Quickie Mart. Don't take her pronouncements seriously.

by Anonymousreply 15December 1, 2021 10:17 PM

'Cut-outs' are ludicrous.

Clothing is meant to clothe the body.

We don't need striptease all the time.

by Anonymousreply 16December 1, 2021 10:25 PM

r10, it is strange how this fat acceptance push only seems to go one way. There is zero talk of this as it relates to men and most of the fat women pushing this are themselves quite open about their distaste for fat men.

by Anonymousreply 17December 1, 2021 10:51 PM

It can be hard to cover all body parts, even without cut-outs.

by Anonymousreply 18December 1, 2021 10:57 PM

R17If I had to guess I would say its women reclaiming their sexiness and confidence after straight men have declared the standards of those things since the beginning of time.

by Anonymousreply 19December 1, 2021 11:04 PM

In the immortal words of Suzanne Sugarbaker, "If it doesn't look good, don't put it out on your front porch."

by Anonymousreply 20December 1, 2021 11:05 PM

Who cares what it means for body inclusivity. You're not a victim because the latest clothing trend doesn't look good on you. Gen Z wasn't taught to be resilient and it shows.

by Anonymousreply 21December 1, 2021 11:08 PM

Just because something is trendy doesn't mean everyone is forced to wear it. Wear what flatters your figure. It's not rocket science. But hey, if you want to squeeze your blubber into cutout fabric because you feel it's your God-given right, then go for it.

by Anonymousreply 22December 1, 2021 11:12 PM

Any dress maker will tell you that this ridiculous trend plays havoc with the bias and entails so much unnecessarily pointless stitching and hemming.

The fabric is weakened and will fall apart much sooner than it should.

by Anonymousreply 23December 1, 2021 11:15 PM

r19, the only reason men have a say is because the vast majority of women want to be desired by men.

Also, this whole 'health at any size' movement is lunacy and dangerous. A 5'5 woman who is over 300 pounds is not healthy, I'm thinking of that model (Tess Holliday).

by Anonymousreply 24December 1, 2021 11:16 PM

Obesity is a crime against nature.

And nature responds by killing off the obese

by Anonymousreply 26December 2, 2021 12:33 AM

That tramp at the OP looks like she has a big tumor hanging out of a hole in her dress.

by Anonymousreply 27December 2, 2021 12:34 AM

This is why we used to have 5-7-9 Shop. Size 18's needn't darken the door!

by Anonymousreply 28December 2, 2021 1:12 AM

Someone needs to ease up behind that broad and whisper in her ear "hon, did you know you have a titty hanging out?".

by Anonymousreply 29December 2, 2021 1:14 AM

She needs to start shopping at The Stout Girl's Shop.

by Anonymousreply 30December 2, 2021 1:17 AM

Now available at the Hefty Hide-Nothing-Away.

by Anonymousreply 31December 2, 2021 2:18 AM

It looks like she's making a sandwich with her boob!

by Anonymousreply 32December 2, 2021 2:23 AM

I'm all for pants with cut-out crotches for men with big dicks.

[quote] Can you imagine if balding and obese men were this entitled and felt they were owed 'hot status' and to have the world worship their beer guts?

R10, I thought they’ve [italic]been[/italic] doing that. At the very least, they feel entitled to beautiful young women.

I’m an obese woman (I’m working on it), and there’s no way in hell I’d wear a cut-out dress. However, if other fat women want to wear cut-out dresses, that’s their choice.

by Anonymousreply 35December 2, 2021 8:31 AM

R35 A minority of these men may get young women, but they know they aren't considered hot and don't demand people tell them they are. They get young women because of power and money, not because of a culture that tells them their receding hairline and pot belly is so hot. How many morbidly obese men do you see working as fashion models and landing magazine covers or being named 'Sexiest Man Alive'? None.

I'm fine with women of any size wearing whatever they want, but I reject the entitlement that is inherent to so much of the 'body positivity' movement. Nobody is owed 'hot status' and to be put on a pedestal. I don't have a hot body because my genetics are average, and I don't work out and eat properly. I'm not entitled to have my body type plastered all over magazines, TV ads, and Instagram and have people blow smoke up my ass about how beautiful I am so that I can feel good about myself.

by Anonymousreply 36December 2, 2021 10:58 AM

After years of seeing 300 pounders in yoga pants, cut outs barely register.

by Anonymousreply 37December 2, 2021 3:01 PM

I don't understand what I'm looking at. Is it the person's arm, midriff?

by Anonymousreply 38December 2, 2021 6:09 PM

Those are good points, r36. Most unattractive guys aren’t “persuading” (I.e., “forcing”) the general public to find their beer guts attractive like most women in the Fat Acceptance Movement. No one is entitled to anyone’s love or sexual attraction.

by Anonymousreply 39December 2, 2021 6:42 PM

Oh, Jesus.

by Anonymousreply 40December 4, 2021 3:41 PM

I’ve seen the trend on larger women with proportionate bodies and it looks fine. It just has to be a part of the body that isn’t saggy or jiggly. Nobody HAS to wear every trend.

by Anonymousreply 41December 4, 2021 3:45 PM

The woman in that picture isn’t even fat his tits are just saggy

by Anonymousreply 42December 4, 2021 3:48 PM

Trendiness is best avoided. That way pictures of you will never wind up on online archives of terrible fashion disasters.

Possibly, but it’s all relative. It does however definitely provide for immediate access to a tittie fuck.

Body-inclusive cutouts?! It looks like this:

Now that is a fashion trend that I can get behind and support. It helps to spread big dick energy.

by Anonymousreply 46December 4, 2021 4:06 PM

Agreed, r41. I saw a group of African American young women out last night at dinner, and one overweight lady had large side cutouts in her dress. It didn’t look bad because she was young and her skin still looked firm and not jiggly. She also seemed confident, which helps a lot.

by Anonymousreply 47December 4, 2021 4:09 PM

It’s a really cheap look. I noticed it on RHOBH - tits mangled with exposed skin. This is particularly hideous on middle aged women like Kyle or Garcelle.

by Anonymousreply 48December 4, 2021 4:18 PM

Men should do that with our balls.

by Anonymousreply 49December 4, 2021 4:45 PM

I am outraged by clickbait!

by Anonymousreply 50December 4, 2021 5:05 PM

I think it’s trashy looking but nobody is forcing anyone to do it. I wish fashion of the 40s or 50s would come back when people dressed like they had dignity.

by Anonymousreply 51December 4, 2021 9:43 PM

Yes, R51 trashy and pointless.

Just like this—
