Here Sleuthy sleuthy sleuthy!

I've been waiting for someone to post this. Horrifying.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | December 1, 2021 8:43 PM |
This doesn’t make sense. I think they were targeted. It’s definitely more to this story. So sad though.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | December 1, 2021 8:44 PM |
He's very old so it was Jacqueline who probably investigated. R3 I thought the same thing when I looked at the neighborhood--why them?
by Anonymous | reply 4 | December 1, 2021 8:46 PM |
The husband’s nickname is “The Godfather”?
I don’t care how old he was, he’s involved somehow.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | December 1, 2021 8:47 PM |
Its apparently a new old trend in Hollywood. Theyve had like 25 lately.Guess who is doing it ? That poor lady was in her own goddamn house, imagine how terrified she was.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | December 1, 2021 8:48 PM |
Don't prosecute robbers, they're just victims of a racist system!
Let them kill nice elderly black ladies instead.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | December 1, 2021 8:52 PM |
The TMZ article had a photo of a sliding glass door with the pane broken, saying that’s how the intruder got in. But the glass was on the outside. Doesn’t that mean it was broken from the inside?
Also, the person who called 911 said one person was shot, but the article said a security guard was shot, in addition to Jacqueline. That’s two people. Who was shot before the 911 call?
And do most elderly people have an armed guard in their home?
by Anonymous | reply 8 | December 1, 2021 8:54 PM |
R8 they do in beverly Hills honey .
by Anonymous | reply 9 | December 1, 2021 9:02 PM |
Horrifying. Those poor elderly folks must have been terrified. Crime has gotten way too far out of hand.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | December 1, 2021 9:03 PM |
Robbers who target nice neighborhoods know what they’re doing. They don’t want to encounter occupants, security or armed guards. Was it just some crackhead with a gun who didn’t do ANY recon at all?
by Anonymous | reply 11 | December 1, 2021 9:10 PM |
Truesdale is a nice area. It was someone they know
by Anonymous | reply 12 | December 1, 2021 9:12 PM |
She was 81, that's a damn shame.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | December 1, 2021 9:18 PM |
She's the mother in law of the President of Netflix. Or was...
by Anonymous | reply 14 | December 1, 2021 9:20 PM |
"Just one last question, Godfather"
by Anonymous | reply 15 | December 1, 2021 9:21 PM |
Why wouldn't these people have their alarm on at night? Sad, but sounds a little fishy on a few levels...
by Anonymous | reply 16 | December 1, 2021 9:29 PM |
The glass was broken out, so the shot was fired from inside that room. TMZ implied they broke the sliding door for access but then the glass would not all go out.
My guess is it is someone who did work on the house, etc. Not a complete stranger.
Such a shame, she was said to do a lot of good in the world and then gunned down in her home at 81. Sick world.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | December 1, 2021 10:14 PM |
So what happened to the “security guard”!who was shot? TMZ mentions it, and I saw the report that he was shot but did not return fire. He was armed but allowed his client and himself to be shot by an intruder? Was there no alarm system? What’s that all about?
No word about the husband except that he was home.
Fishy fishy coverup.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | December 1, 2021 11:46 PM |
You think it was targeted, R18? Does seem very odd that security guard did not fire weapon. Poor lady.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | December 2, 2021 1:55 AM |
Maybe annoying cunt Phyllicia Rashad can play her in a mini-series about the murder.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | December 2, 2021 2:10 AM |
Unless someone white or famous killed her, there won’t be a mini series.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | December 2, 2021 2:11 AM |
Where was the husband while the crime occurred?
by Anonymous | reply 23 | December 2, 2021 4:34 AM |
There is more to this story. this was no home invasion.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | December 2, 2021 11:45 AM |
I’m going with robbery gone bad maybe by an ex employee.

That’s DEAN Phylicia Rashad, bitch.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | December 2, 2021 12:27 PM |
I never heard the name before today, so I don't have an agenda whatsoever. It seems to be categorically ruled out that the husband did it and that all the rest is a cover-up?

Beverly Hills Police Chief Mark Stainbrook is what you'd want the Beverly Hills Police Chief to look like.

The article at the OP says the police think it was targeted
[quote][bold]Police suggested Avant may have been targeted.
[quote]"I don't think it's a random attack, but I can't speculate on that right now," Beverly Hills Police Department (BHPD) Chief Mark Stainbrook said at a press conference on Wednesday afternoon.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | December 2, 2021 2:51 PM |
daughter Nicole Avant married to Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | December 2, 2021 2:54 PM |
[quote]Clarence and a security guard were also at the home during the incident, he said during the news conference. Stainbrook did not say where they were or whether they saw the shooting, but he said they were not injured.
[quote]He also said that it was too soon to classify the attack as a home invasion or a follow-home robbery. “Someone went into the home,” he said. “We just don’t know what the purpose was. ... I don’t think it’s a random attack. I can’t speculate on that right now.”
[quote]When asked if anything had been taken from the home, he later told The Times, “Nothing to indicate that at this time. Hard to tell when you are processing the scene to know if something is missing or not.”
[quote]The shooting comes amid growing concerns over a string of follow-home robberies in affluent neighborhoods in the Los Angeles area.
[quote]Stainbrook was asked repeatedly at the news conference if the Avant attack was connected to those earlier incidents. He skirted the questions, giving instead a full-throated defense of safety in a city renowned for its extreme wealth.
[…]
[quote]In November, a crew of masked robbers tracked actor and former BET host Terrence Jenkins to his Sherman Oaks home and attempted to block his car in with an SUV, but he was able to flee in his car as shots were fired.
[quote]The month before, masked robbers made off with as much as $1 million in valuables from the Encino mansion of “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Dorit Kemsley.
[quote]Last week, Los Angeles Police Chief Michel Moore announced he was setting up a task force to deal with the follow-home robberies, saying the department had not seen violent holdups “like this in decades.”
[quote]At least 133 such robberies in areas of Los Angeles including the Sunset Strip, Melrose Avenue, the Jewelry District and Westside shopping areas are currently under investigation, according to the LAPD.
[quote]The trend, which has targeted celebrities and upscale restaurants in recent months, turned deadly in the predawn hours Nov. 23 when a man was gunned down during an attempted robbery outside Bossa Nova restaurant in Hollywood.

Also from the link at R34:
[quote]“When you think about the family, total, as well as Jackie herself, I love them, respect them, hold them in the highest regard because of what they meant as a family, especially in the world and especially in Black America,” Magic Johnson said in an interview. “They are like royalty in a sense, because of what they have been able to do to help other people achieve their goals and dreams.”
[quote]Former President Clinton tweeted that the shooting left him and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton “heartbroken.” “Jackie Avant was a wonderful woman, a great partner to Clarence and mother to Alex and Nicole, an active citizen & a dear friend to Hillary and me for 30 years,” he wrote. “She inspired admiration, respect & affection in everyone who knew her.”
[quote]The elder Avants have deep ties to the Clintons, while their daughter was Southern California finance co-chair for former President Obama during his first White House run. Obama later appointed Nicole as U.S. ambassador to the Bahamas. She is married to Ted Sarandos, Netflix co-chief executive. Clarence, a 90-year-old entertainment-industry giant, is best-known for working with or advising such stars as Jimmy Smith, Lalo Schifrin, Babyface, Bill Withers, Sixto Rodriguez, the SOS Band and Cherelle.
[quote]In a 2007 Times profile, Nicole talked about how her parents moved in rarified political circles, remembering “President Jimmy Carter and Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley working the crowds in the family’s living room. [Future California Gov.] Gray Davis, just starting his own political career, had a small office in the ’70s at her father’s record company. Gov. Jerry Brown was a frequent visitor at the family’s Beverly Hills estate.”
[quote]Many headlines Wednesday focused on Jacqueline’s close relationships with famous men, and she said of herself in a 1980 Times profile: “My role in life? Well, every successful man needs a certain kind of woman.”
[quote]But Jacqueline was a force in her own right. That same Times story was headlined, “Beverly Hills Hostess for African Dignitaries,” and talked about her plans to meet with a Tanzanian industrialist. She has been a prominent Los Angeles philanthropist over the decades, notably in support of the UCLA International Student Center. She served at one time as the president of the Neighbors of Watts, a support group for the South Central Community Child Care Center, and as entertainment chairman of the NOW benefit auction.
[quote]A 55-year resident of Beverly Hills, Jacqueline served on the cultural committee for the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, “at a time when L.A. wasn’t thought of as a cultural center,” said Ken Solomon, president of the Tennis Channel, who has served as co-chair for the Democratic National Committee.
[quote]Solomon is also a family friend, and he said Jacqueline “knew everything about culture.” The couple “effortlessly traveled between artists and kings, and Jackie really was like the queen of the people. Everyone felt comfortable around her, everyone wanted to talk to her. She was always the person in the room who people would listen to.”

This whole thing is really sad. May she RIP!
She seemed like a really sweet woman, and a really good person.
I hate these kinds of tragedies.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | December 2, 2021 3:43 PM |
Why kill a helpless elderly woman when you can just easily get her valuables? And why is the security staff seemed useless? Looks like an inside job and robbery is probably not the real motive.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | December 2, 2021 4:00 PM |
This sucks. There was a really good documentary on them a few years ago and I just fell in love with them both.

The Avants on the Bold and the Beautiful are named after Clarence and Jacqueline's family.
They have a daughter, Nicole.

[quote]Beverly Hills Police Department confirmed Aariel Maynor is in custody after investigators traced him through security footage which captured his vehicle heading east out of Beverly Hills following the fatal burglary.
[quote]Police caught Maynor at the site of another home burglary in Hollywood Hills where he had shot himself in his foot with what is thought to be the same AR-15 he used to kill Avant.
[quote]New footage shows Maynor handcuffed to wheelchair with his bloody foot on display as he is being taken in to custody by police.
[quote]Maynor has an extensive criminal record dating back to 2013 and has served time for robbery and grand theft, TMZ reported.
[quote]Maynor was on parole at the time of the alleged homicide for a domestic violence case.

How awful. What threat could an elderly lady be to that guy?
by Anonymous | reply 46 | December 2, 2021 10:18 PM |
What possesses people to pick up a weapon and destroy the lies of other people? Even at a young age. This kid killed FOUR people.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | December 2, 2021 10:20 PM |
It's a shame dv is not taken more seriously. If it was, society as a whole would be safer. This trend toward letting everyone out w/o bail needs to change.
Crappy choice of security firms.
Very sad, poor lady and her husband had to have been terrified.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | December 2, 2021 10:28 PM |
If the neighbors had hired a security firm seems odd that they did not have a security alarm on?
by Anonymous | reply 49 | December 2, 2021 10:32 PM |
Of course, the suspect is what we all expected. BLM! 🙄
by Anonymous | reply 50 | December 2, 2021 10:36 PM |
Imagine living to be 81 years old and being shot in your own home. What a horrible way for your life to come to an end.
How do we solve the crime problem in North America, including the gun violence? It is never ending anymore. Every. Single Day.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | December 2, 2021 10:52 PM |
The fact that the subject was out on parole, will be what people will focus on. How was a career criminal, with convictions for robbery and grand theft, receive parole?
by Anonymous | reply 52 | December 2, 2021 11:17 PM |
If Republicans passed the Violence Against Women Act this motherfucker would still be in jail

It’s really alarming how certain networks don’t want to report about murderers who are black. Neither of these networks even reported when the WI murderer had his day in court

I predict this was a murder for hire by their son who is not mentioned in any of the articles. Murderer was supposed to eliminate both parents.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | December 3, 2021 1:38 AM |
T58 then he goes and robs a home in the Hills? Not sure about that.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | December 3, 2021 1:42 AM |
Not unless it was a hired killer who was running a stripmall two for one special.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | December 3, 2021 1:52 AM |
He screwed up the first hired job plus he took nothing. So he moved on to a cash and grab hit. Drugs.

by Anonymous | reply 62 | December 3, 2021 1:56 AM |
They want me to worry about terrorists from 6000 miles away, yet weve got millions of home grown ones right here. I just dont understand what has happened to people that they can kill so casually .

by Anonymous | reply 65 | December 3, 2021 1:58 AM |
That is a very exclusive turnout. Marjorie Lord lived there. A quiet, lovely area of Trousdale. Shocking, really.

normally you would probably be right, but this guy is really a dumb ass. He was grinning when they were taking him away. I saw some of the dumb stuff he posted on social media. It was beyond stupid. His defense lawyers will say he's borderline retarded. And they won't be lying
