Bruce Willis Is Doing 50 Movies A Year

One after the other. They’re really shit D-list movies. He’s basically Dennis Quaid. Sad.

Wow. I didn't even know he was still acting.

by Anonymousreply 1November 30, 2021 6:40 AM

The reason for that is that it is a well known, open secret in the industry that Bruce Willis will be in your movie or any movie if you agree to pay him $1 million a day.

by Anonymousreply 2November 30, 2021 6:43 AM

I haven’t seen any of them.

by Anonymousreply 3November 30, 2021 6:46 AM

Amateur!

by Anonymousreply 4November 30, 2021 7:01 AM

I wonder if he actually enjoys acting or if he just needs to maintain his lifestyle.

by Anonymousreply 5November 30, 2021 3:05 PM

Those expensive gifts for blond twinks ain't gonna pay for themselves!

by Anonymousreply 6November 30, 2021 4:12 PM

Is he bored or has his life become empty or something?

He certainly doesn't need the money or the attention anymore, plus these C-list unsuccessful movies can't pay him more than 500K.

Shame, I watched Die Hard (after 14 years!) again some five days ago and he was hot.

by Anonymousreply 7January 16, 2022 4:00 PM

mofo is king. hustle that shit, baby.

Keep in mind that he'll play smaller roles in some of those movies, where he'll only have to work 1 day to a couple of weeks., so it's easier for him to remember lines (he needs cue cards for longer projects) and an easy paycheck if the $1 mil/day is true..

by Anonymousreply 9January 16, 2022 4:06 PM

R8 I love me some old school old dirty bastard

by Anonymousreply 10January 16, 2022 4:09 PM

He's probably still supporting his first set of kids, and he also has the second family to support.

by Anonymousreply 11January 16, 2022 4:11 PM

Matt Damon take note, this is the path your career will start heading to five years from now....

by Anonymousreply 12January 16, 2022 4:13 PM

Vulture did a good article on the “geezer teasers,” straight to VOD action movies that get Willis, Travolta, or even De Niro to show up for a day or two of work (and a bulk of the movie’s whole budget) so their names can be used on the poster.

R5 He does it for the paycheck. He wears an ear piece and gets his lines fed to him.

They say he’s an absolute nightmare to work with and he’s difficult.

Only desperate productions who need his name in 2022 hire him.

by Anonymousreply 14January 16, 2022 4:17 PM

He cannot possibly need the money, can he?

I get the feeling that he enjoys the power trip of being a "star" on a movie, more than he needs the money. Or perhaps, he feels inferior to Ashton Kutcher and needs to compete financially - Willis is reputed to be worth $250mm while Kutcher is worth a paltry $200mm.

by Anonymousreply 15January 16, 2022 4:20 PM

This came up a few weeks ago and someone posted an interesting comment about how stars like this spend money at a pace that's hard to fathom. It's entirely possible that he needs the money.

by Anonymousreply 16January 16, 2022 4:23 PM

Yeah and his wife does nothing and they have 2 young kids.

Probably a combo of maintaining her spending money and him at 60 getting out of the house from a young wife and young kids.

by Anonymousreply 17January 16, 2022 4:29 PM

Well R16, given how much money he made in the 1990s and for most of the 2000s not to mention the late 80s he would've to be TRULY AMAZINGLY stupid to need more money, not to mention irresponsible, didn't he get any financial education?

by Anonymousreply 18January 16, 2022 4:30 PM

He did so much cocaine in the 1990s that he simply burned the hairs on his nostrils.

Maybe that's where his stupid douchebag behavior comes from.

by Anonymousreply 19January 16, 2022 4:44 PM

[quote] Wow. I didn't even know he was still acting.

He isn't. He's just making the movies.

by Anonymousreply 20January 16, 2022 4:48 PM

Bruce Willis is the new Al Pacino / Gene Hackman / Michael Caine / Robert DeNiro...

It's a well established trajectory in Hollywood. And whoever said this was Matt Damon's future was spot on.

by Anonymousreply 21January 16, 2022 4:53 PM

Are there any actresses who can go down this career path? I don't think so. Maybe Shelley Winters? Faye?

by Anonymousreply 22January 16, 2022 4:56 PM

Most aging actresses will succumb to hagsploitation, kind of what Jessica Lange and Kathy Bates have been doing on TV. There are a handful of actresses well over 50 who continue to get plum roles however, such as Meryl and Glenn. But they are the exception, and Glenn has done horror recently too.

by Anonymousreply 23January 16, 2022 4:59 PM

I agree with those actors who get a strict financial manager when they first make it who put the actor on an allowance. Every extra penny is socked away and invested so that when the roles dry up, dignity can be maintained. It's the only way to not end up humiliating yourself as you get older. If you still want to practice your craft, you can do stage or something.

by Anonymousreply 24January 16, 2022 7:08 PM

The roles that older actors are (sometimes) forced to succumb to have always fascinated me. From the psycho-biddy horror films of the 1960s to the geezer teasers of the 2020s (great article, thanks for sharing it R13). It's interesting to consider the actors who were somehow able to avoid these career lows. It makes me respect pretentious actors like Daniel Day-Lewis. Have some self-respect, you know.

by Anonymousreply 25January 16, 2022 7:14 PM

Michael Caine used to do everything to maintain his career (I think it was in the late 80's or 90's where he seldom said no to a job) and yet he still is a respected actor.

by Anonymousreply 26January 16, 2022 7:57 PM

I just noticed he has no upper-lip from that close-up pic

by Anonymousreply 27January 16, 2022 8:10 PM

R26 - True, and Pacino, Hackman, and DeNiro have more or less managed to survive their trash trudge with their reputations still mostly intact

Hell, John Gielgud, Peter O'Toole and Malcolm McDowell all survived Caligula, and it made Helen Mirren a star.

by Anonymousreply 28January 16, 2022 10:55 PM

R27 lots of white celebrities are like this.

by Anonymousreply 29January 18, 2022 8:45 PM

Has anyone watched that porn guy that goes by the name Big C? I’m not completely convinced that it isn’t Bruce Willis, if so then the number of films makes perfect sense. I’ll admit, I at first found him repulsive, but he’s kind of grown on me with his alpha ways.

by Anonymousreply 30January 18, 2022 8:52 PM

I'm just surprised he doesn't make them hire his older daughters, too, as part of his deal

by Anonymousreply 31February 8, 2022 7:16 AM

Bruce was just nominated for a record number of Razzies.

by Anonymousreply 32February 8, 2022 7:22 AM

His greatest accomplishment is being a Trump supporter. Now, THAT is sad.

by Anonymousreply 33February 8, 2022 7:22 AM

So he’s like Nicolas Cage?

by Anonymousreply 34February 8, 2022 7:27 AM

Willis has dick reveal in an older film…can’t remember…must have been a small role.

by Anonymousreply 35February 8, 2022 7:43 AM

R35 Its color of night where he shows his dick

Willis has done 11 of these movies in 2 years. They're called Geezer Features. Meant to rent at redbox to the 40-60 male red state type who still rents dvds. He makes about $1 mil per day.

There is something going on with his finances. He doesn't NEED the money but he's probably just shoring up finances in case the day comes when he gets me too'd. He probably shares management/financial managers with other actors who have become unemployable. Possibly a few kids around the country we're not aware of. Some enormous lawsuit settlements we're not aware of. Its strange he's never had a me too type thing considering his history. (And we're aware of rumors which to me are so bizarre I can't fathom they're true).

Or its possible doing these movies also have some huge financial benefits we're not aware of that keep his life going. Or there's some bonus like owning part of the "studio" that makes them, which is what Segal does.

by Anonymousreply 36February 8, 2022 7:55 AM

r34 Nicolas Cage had a massive IRS debt.

by Anonymousreply 37February 8, 2022 7:56 AM

Brad is starting to do that also with his cameo appearance on a rom com movie The Lost City with Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum. He never done those types of movies before but he’s now 58.

by Anonymousreply 38February 8, 2022 8:17 AM

Brad is so stoned all the time he probably had no idea he was even on a movie set.

by Anonymousreply 39February 8, 2022 11:44 AM

Imagine people working to pay the bills…

by Anonymousreply 40February 8, 2022 11:46 AM

R36, what BW rumors apart from buying a young Aaron Carter a super fancy car?

Thanks in advance

by Anonymousreply 41February 9, 2022 12:35 AM

Bruce = resting smug face

by Anonymousreply 42February 9, 2022 12:40 AM

The last decent movie he was in was Red (2010)

by Anonymousreply 43February 9, 2022 4:48 AM

Does anyone think he and demi had regular threesomes and/or an open marriage?
