It's kind of expensive. Is it worth it? Does it make you keep your hair? What age should you start it?
Do you use rogaine to prevent hair loss?

I have used it for years. I began using it when I noticed my hair was thinning. While I have continued to lose some hair, I do believe Rogaine (I use Lipogaine, actually) has slowed the loss to a certain degree. It is a bit of a trap, however, because you don't really know if it is working unless you discontinue it . I'm not willing to risk additional hair loss in order to find out.

Is lipogaine better r2?

Supposedly, Lipogaine has additional, helpful ingredients. Who knows if that is true? I use Lipogaine primarily because they have a "Sensitive Scalp" version. My scalp becomes unbearably itchy with regular Rogaine. Also, I find Lipogaine easier to use and less messy than Rogaine.

I have heard that one of the side effects is that it negatively impacts your sex drive - have you noticed?

I believe you are thinking of Finasteride, a pill that reduces DHT levels and reportedly reduces sex drive in some people. I don't think Rogaine does.

Yes Finasteride (Propecia) has sexual side effects.
My mother (who is a hair freak. She'd probably disown her sons if we lost our hair) saw on that stupid show The Doctors that everyone should take it preventively. I asked my dermatologist who's a really respected guy. He refuses to prescribe it because of some studies that showed it caused some kind of cancer.

I tried Rogaine for a few years - it did nothing

Few trannies one knew were on Finasteride (Propecia), when shit hit the fan about cancer and other possible side effects their physicians took them off the stuff.
As to OP's query, yes minoxidil (Rogaine) does work but not for everyone and results may vary. Also as noted whatever results are achieved will reverse if people stop using.

R7, after years of me taking Finasteride, my doctor assured me I’d never die due to an enlarged prostate.
