It's okay. Toddler was using self defense!
Toddler with rifle fatally shoots father, police say
ST. LOUIS (KMOV) - A 2-year-old boy accidentally shot his father in the back and killed him, St. Louis police say.
The incident happened around 8:40 p.m. Saturday. Police found the victim, reportedly a man in his 20s, unconscious and not breathing. He was later pronounced dead.
Authorities say the victim’s 2-year-old son was handling a rifle when it went off.
Homicide detectives are investigating.
Police say there was also a woman in the home when the shooting happened. It is unclear whether she will face any charges.

What the fuck kind of sick mind uses "self defense," to describe such a horrible tragedy? You're about as funny as that Democrat in Illinois.

That toddler had every right to shoot his dad - he was probably threatening him with "if you don't eat your dinner, you'll have to go to bed" so BAM - guess who's going to bed early now, pops?

Yeah, of course it's a terrible story, but I'm glad if there's anyone that got the short of the stick in this story, it's the negligent parents who carelessly left out an unsecured gun & not some kid

Horrifying quandary, if you think too much about it.
Most bereaved kids have something or someone else to blame while they work through their grieving with anger and depression, even if it’s as simple and non-specific as ‘cancer’ or ‘God’ or ‘a bend in the road’. This child, though, will shoulder the responsibility for this loss himself.
Though I suppose as R14 points out, negligent parents put a weapon in his reach, so perhaps Mommy will get the brunt of his ire when he becomes a young man.

These things would maybe happen less often if the parents/guardians were charged.
EVERY time this happens, "what a shocking tragedy. The family has suffered enough. No charges will be filed".
WAit 4-6 weeks for it to happen again because...America.

Horrible!
But such stories happen over and over again, IT'S really dangerous to have any type of gun in homes with children and teenagers.
Sometimes accidental suicides happen in these circumstances. People shouldn't want guns in their homes.

The U.S. is awash in guns. I'm serious. The gun manufacturers have fought tooth and nail to be able to sell guns to anyone. Of course government could in fact do things like require gun safes, liability insurance and good training; But no.

Indeed, R9. Accidents happen, but these cases are usually related to some kind of negligence on their part. Here's a story from 2014, where a woman had a loaded gun in her purse in the cart with her two-year-old (in a Walmart), who fatally shot her.

My favorite idiot shooter story. From 2012, I've never forgotten it. Pennsyltucky fucktard shot his 8 year old cousin at a Halloween party. She had a black and white costume and he thought she was a skunk. You're at a costume party, kids are running around. Yes, let's grab a gun!
Of course he "only got probation because MURICA!"
