It's okay. Toddler was using self defense!

Toddler with rifle fatally shoots father, police say

ST. LOUIS (KMOV) - A 2-year-old boy accidentally shot his father in the back and killed him, St. Louis police say.

The incident happened around 8:40 p.m. Saturday. Police found the victim, reportedly a man in his 20s, unconscious and not breathing. He was later pronounced dead.

Authorities say the victim’s 2-year-old son was handling a rifle when it went off.

Homicide detectives are investigating.

Police say there was also a woman in the home when the shooting happened. It is unclear whether she will face any charges.

What the fuck kind of sick mind uses "self defense," to describe such a horrible tragedy? You're about as funny as that Democrat in Illinois.

by Anonymousreply 1November 23, 2021 6:06 PM

That toddler had every right to shoot his dad - he was probably threatening him with "if you don't eat your dinner, you'll have to go to bed" so BAM - guess who's going to bed early now, pops?

by Anonymousreply 7November 23, 2021 6:21 PM

Naughty child. We now know what must be done.

by Anonymousreply 8November 23, 2021 6:21 PM

These parents suck for putting their kid in a position where he now will spend the rest of his life knowing he killed his dad.

by Anonymousreply 9November 23, 2021 6:21 PM

The only thing that can stop a murderous toddler is a man with a gun.

by Anonymousreply 10November 23, 2021 6:22 PM

by Anonymousreply 13November 23, 2021 6:23 PM

That kid is going to have one helluva "show & tell" story when he goes to kindergarten!

Yeah, of course it's a terrible story, but I'm glad if there's anyone that got the short of the stick in this story, it's the negligent parents who carelessly left out an unsecured gun & not some kid

by Anonymousreply 14November 23, 2021 6:36 PM

Rofl!

BYE MAGAT!

One less Trump voter to worry about.

by Anonymousreply 15November 23, 2021 6:38 PM

Wouldn’t the recoil of such a firearm likely injure the child badly? No mention of that.

by Anonymousreply 16November 23, 2021 6:43 PM

[quote] he now will spend the rest of his life knowing he killed his dad.

Horrifying quandary, if you think too much about it.

Most bereaved kids have something or someone else to blame while they work through their grieving with anger and depression, even if it’s as simple and non-specific as ‘cancer’ or ‘God’ or ‘a bend in the road’. This child, though, will shoulder the responsibility for this loss himself.

Though I suppose as R14 points out, negligent parents put a weapon in his reach, so perhaps Mommy will get the brunt of his ire when he becomes a young man.

by Anonymousreply 17November 23, 2021 6:48 PM

These things would maybe happen less often if the parents/guardians were charged.

EVERY time this happens, "what a shocking tragedy. The family has suffered enough. No charges will be filed".

WAit 4-6 weeks for it to happen again because...America.

Horrible!

But such stories happen over and over again, IT'S really dangerous to have any type of gun in homes with children and teenagers.

Sometimes accidental suicides happen in these circumstances. People shouldn't want guns in their homes.

How tragic and to grow up knowing you did that.

Also, WTF were they doing with a gun and a child together???

by Anonymousreply 26November 23, 2021 9:56 PM

The U.S. is awash in guns. I'm serious. The gun manufacturers have fought tooth and nail to be able to sell guns to anyone. Of course government could in fact do things like require gun safes, liability insurance and good training; But no.

by Anonymousreply 30November 23, 2021 10:01 PM

And the idiot parents/guardians never face charges because "they've suffered enough"

by Anonymousreply 31November 23, 2021 10:04 PM

That’s what you get for letting a toddler watch Alec Baldwin on tv.

by Anonymousreply 32November 23, 2021 10:08 PM

OMG R29, was the kid’s head blown off too?

by Anonymousreply 33November 23, 2021 10:11 PM

Most American don't have guns; a minority have them and a small minority have lots and lots of them.

by Anonymousreply 34November 23, 2021 10:15 PM

[quote] "These parents suck for putting their kid in a position where he now will spend the rest of his life knowing he killed his dad."

Indeed, R9. Accidents happen, but these cases are usually related to some kind of negligence on their part. Here's a story from 2014, where a woman had a loaded gun in her purse in the cart with her two-year-old (in a Walmart), who fatally shot her.

by Anonymousreply 41November 24, 2021 1:32 AM

So let me get this straight - mom is saying her two year old picked up a rifle and raised it high enough to shoot dad in the back?

Suuuure.

by Anonymousreply 42November 24, 2021 1:45 AM

Actually, the twenty-something dad was "unconscious and not breathing" when police found him.

by Anonymousreply 43November 24, 2021 1:48 AM

No, Beth - he'd have shot you in the cunt.

by Anonymousreply 44November 24, 2021 2:07 PM

What's scary about the US is the fact that even some church loving, innocent looking fraus are crazy for In other parts of the world gun obsession is more of a male thing.

The neighborhood in St. Louis that this occurred in is 80% black. Why do you think that means the victim is a Trump supporter?

Yes, that’s right officer. The toddler did it.

Family: "Our child was shot when she 'bumped into' a loaded gun sitting on a chair!"

Cops: "Uh, no, one of her other siblings shot your 5-year-old to death."

Family: "Whatever! Now give us money! Here's our CashApp!"

Where is Columbo when you need him?

Two? Maybe more like 35 months? Even that is a stretch to believe he picked up a rifle and pulled the trigger.

by Anonymousreply 52November 28, 2021 3:46 AM

Just the one, kiddo?

My favorite idiot shooter story. From 2012, I've never forgotten it. Pennsyltucky fucktard shot his 8 year old cousin at a Halloween party. She had a black and white costume and he thought she was a skunk. You're at a costume party, kids are running around. Yes, let's grab a gun!

Of course he "only got probation because MURICA!"
