I totally agree about the Duran Duran song. It's not Shirley Bassey great, but great nonetheless.

I didn't think Walken was all that memorable.

Moore was handsome but was never sexy or had chemistry with females. He had a 'gay walker' vibe about him, the kind who escorts older ladies to events.

I've written this on DL before: if Henry Cavill were to be James Bond he would be this century's Roger Moore version of Bond.

You know, that's pretty spot on, R13. But I never had problems with the character being a womanizer and bedding women - I could wilfully buy it.

Not at all. Roger Moore always had a sense of fun. Henry Cavill is no fun.

Roger Moore bordered on camp and often crossed the line. Very tongue-in-cheek, and I enjoyed it.

I liked Roger Moore as James Bond but to our modern eyes he looked old as shit. People in their 50s looked so much older back in those days.

I think Tanya Roberts is tied with Denise Richards for most annoying Bond girl.

Denise Richards will always be on my good side for Wild Things.

The Bond movies are camp, except the new ones take the camp seriously. The whole idea is ridiculous and at least the Moore movies were fun to watch.

Roger Moore was past his sell by date in Moonraker. He looked like a wax figure in A View to a Kill. Still, he's my favorite Bond because of the cheezy nature of that era.

Britt Ekland is also in the running for most annoying Bond Girl. Jill St. John's Tiffany Case suddenly turns into a dunce towards the end of Diamond Are Forever.

"For Your Eyes Only" is Moore's "On Her Majest's Secret Service." It's much less campy. It's probably his best outing.

Grace Jones’ recent autobiography claims the production was one big cocaine binge from cast and crew from start to finish.

I remember the promo interviews in magazines where Tanya Roberts insisted she wasn't just a helpless Bond girl like all the others, because she has vital knowledge that Bond needs to eliminate the threat (the whole info dump about the San Andreas Fault and how the explosion could trigger a huge earthquake that could drown San Francisco and Silicon Valley).

There was also a very racist undertone in those magazine promos about Grace Jones' character being the one who basically rapes Bond which never made sense to me since he was the one waiting for her in her bed. Back then, she was promoted as a predator, for some reason.

Moore got more camp when he got older (starting with Moonraker).

Grace should have won an Oscar.

It was pure laziness on the producers part to rehire Moore.

I never knew Priscilla Presley was the original choice for Robert's character. Presley has done other things, but it's hard to imagine her outside the Naked Gun films.

While Presley was unavailable due to other commitments, it's interesting that Barbara Bach reportedly turned down the opportunity to reprise her role from The Spy Who Loved Me. It would have been a nice touch to Roger Moore's final film and added a bit of cohesiveness to the franchise.

Tanya Roberts is a Venn diagram of weak Bond Girls. Blonde and American. Blondes rarely fare well (Lea Seydoux, Maryam D'Abo, Britt Ekland), along with Americans (Denise Richards, Lois Chiles, Halle Berry)

Are you kidding? Ursula Andress, Honor Blackman, the gold painted Shirley Eaton.... Daniela Bianchi from "From Russia With Love" is also tops as far as Bond girls go.
