I hate pitbulls

Always have. They’re evil dogs. The end.

damn OP, why did you post this shit? I'm sick to my stomach...

by Anonymousreply 1November 22, 2021 10:34 PM

Because it’s the perfect example as to why I hate pitbulls.

by Anonymousreply 2November 22, 2021 10:35 PM

OMG!!

by Anonymousreply 3November 22, 2021 10:36 PM

Ugh why did I watch that! Poor golden- hope he survived that. I love dogs and rescues but will probably never own a pit bull.

by Anonymousreply 4November 22, 2021 10:37 PM

Pitbulls are evil. They snap at any given moment. When I was a kid there was a man attacked by one by my elementary school while walking in the morning. He had a box cutter and killed it.

After that I was scared of them. And then my cop family member always told me how many incidents they have with pitbulls that no one ever hears about. Hate them.

by Anonymousreply 5November 22, 2021 10:39 PM

R4 the golden lost its leg but is fine otherwise.

The pitbull was put down against the owners will.

by Anonymousreply 6November 22, 2021 10:40 PM

I generally agree. Though I hate all uncontrolled dogs. Why do people have so many dogs?

by Anonymousreply 7November 22, 2021 10:43 PM

I hope that cunt pit bull owner gets sued.

by Anonymousreply 8November 22, 2021 10:44 PM

The owner doesn't look too eager to do anything. Fuck.

by Anonymousreply 9November 22, 2021 10:45 PM

Didn't need to watch that. I don't hate any animals. I was a TJ Maxx (yes snobby bitches...I shop there). It was in a nice part of LA. Suddenly, I see hear an older lady behind me say "I love my dog, but I don't know yours". I turned around and these trashy people had a pit bull in their shopping cart and this poor lady was standing way back. I have no idea why the clerks and security said nothing as it was not on a leash and inside the cart. Absolutely ridiculous given the setting and situation.

by Anonymousreply 10November 22, 2021 10:46 PM

Pit bulls are owned by sociopaths.

by Anonymousreply 11November 22, 2021 10:47 PM

Bullshit. Im on my 3rd Pitbull, the last one lasted 18 years...each one has been obedient, friendly, outgoing and lovable. Dogs are a reflection of their owners. If a dog is aggressive, it was either taught to be that way, or was neglected.

by Anonymousreply 12November 22, 2021 10:48 PM

I loathe non-service pets in places like that; that I need to go. I guess there's enough bars and restaurants that there's always someplace else to go if the owners want to allow pets. But someplace like TJ Maxx or Target? I assume it technically wasn't allowed there.

by Anonymousreply 13November 22, 2021 10:48 PM

evil breed

by Anonymousreply 14November 22, 2021 10:49 PM

Pit bulls were bred to fight, r12. That impulse transcends how they're raised.

We had a border collie when I was young. It was bred to herd but hadn't been trained a day in its life. Still, it would try to herd my guinea pigs.

by Anonymousreply 15November 22, 2021 10:51 PM

And no one does anything about it except film it.

The owners of pits are the evil ones btw. All of them need to be fed a bullet!

by Anonymousreply 16November 22, 2021 10:51 PM

Only cunt dumpster trolls own pits. And OF COURSE they're all OBESE!!!!!!!!

by Anonymousreply 17November 22, 2021 10:54 PM

Shoot that piece of shit right in the fucking head.

by Anonymousreply 18November 22, 2021 10:57 PM

" Dogs are a reflection of their owners. If a dog is aggressive, it was either taught to be that way, or was neglected. "

Bullshit. Of course, yes, much of the time it does have something to do with how it was taught or treated. But dogs can go off even if raised correctly and treated well. Pit bulls and some other breeds can do a LOT of damage if they do. A Shih Tzu might go unexpectedly apeshit, but the chances of permanent injury, disfigurement, or death is a lot lower.

by Anonymousreply 19November 22, 2021 10:57 PM

Sue the pants off that stupid bitch.

by Anonymousreply 20November 22, 2021 10:58 PM

[Quote] I hope that cunt pit bull owner gets sued.

And for what? These cunts don't have money. Most still with their parents in a "family compound" style home well into their 40's. Even if they marry they shove the husband /wife in with their kids. There's no money to sue for.

by Anonymousreply 21November 22, 2021 11:07 PM

There are plenty of people with money. R21 please

by Anonymousreply 22November 22, 2021 11:07 PM

The only reason I see myself getting a gun permit is to defend my dog against these land sharks. Their idiot owners usually just stand by and watch the damage get done and have zero control over these canine predators. The mentality of people who would even own this type of animal escapes me. I can't imagine wanting a dog that would randomly snap and kill a dog, cat, small child, or an elderly person.

Actually, you're wrong.

by Anonymousreply 26November 22, 2021 11:21 PM

All those goddamn dumb people. I would shove that stick down the killer dog's throat til it came out its ass. Then do the same to the owner.

by Anonymousreply 27November 22, 2021 11:24 PM

That pit owner should be jailed. Prison.

by Anonymousreply 28November 22, 2021 11:29 PM

If that pit bull had my dogs leg in its mouth like that, I would get whatever was handy and stab it right in both eyes, going for the brain.

by Anonymousreply 29November 22, 2021 11:29 PM

I'm convinced that the owners are secretly pleased when their pits do shit like this. That bitch should have been fighting like mad to get her dog to release, but she doesn't seem to register the grave circumstance for what it is: my dog is murdering another dog.

I wrote this on DL a year ago, but I'll write it again. A woman found herself in this exact scenario with her own dog being mauled to death by a pit. The owner of the pit went to great lengths to try and get his pit to telease, including beating it about the head and back with a baseball bat - repeatedly! No success. Suddenly, the woman had a lightbulb moment which told her to wet her finger and insert it into the pits anus. It released immediately! The action freaked the dog out. Put that in your memory bank.

by Anonymousreply 30November 22, 2021 11:31 PM

by Anonymousreply 43November 23, 2021 12:02 AM

I’m glad this was posted !!!! This is the truth about these evil dogs who were bred to kill … and these idiotic owners claiming THEIR pit is different :

It’s like a gun owner saying : hey, my guns are not locked up and sometimes even loaded and I’ve trained my kids to not touch them …. and it’s been fine … these fucking liberals and their gun laws !!!

by Anonymousreply 44November 23, 2021 12:03 AM

OP - You are right and wrong. Pitbull PEOPLE need to be banned. I come from a liberal New England family, Golden Retrievers, Labs, and pugs in the family. Pitbulls are like the name Jayden. Pitbulls would have tattoos and vape and get on fake disability if they could.

However, once some trashy people lived near me when I was younger. They had a whole bunch of these fucking dogs. Gross. They moved, and like 6 weeks later I saw a pitbull, starving, with a collar CHOKING it, scared and freaked out. They just left it, and the neighbors were scared to approach.

The city is gonna kill the poor thing. So I make a noose out of a leash, get a big piece of steak and get the dog. Cut off collar. Treat the sores around neck and take it to the vet. It has testicular cancer. Fucking dog is cursed.

Anyway, long story - we kept the dog. It was 6 months old. We taught it be normal, and it was normal. It needed TONS AND TONS of exercise. I had to have the dog tow me on a skateboard for like an hour a day to tire it out. It loved cats. It slept with cats, and lived inside, just like any other normal dog. It never snapped at anyone, or was mean or attacked and ate anyone.

However, I never did let it near babies or small children off a leash, and I was always paranoid, because they are so strong and it had a bad time when young. It was very gentle.

The problem with Pitbulls is they were bred for work and security, need a job and regular exercise, and they are usually raised by dirtbags. Dirtbag owners = out of control dogs.

You should need a license or something. They can be deadly in the wrong hands.

What about the rich San Francisco couple with the Belgian fancy dogs that ate their neighbor? Dogs are domesticated by humans. It's a human problem.

by Anonymousreply 45November 23, 2021 12:08 AM

Pitbulls are responsible for many severe/fatal attacks, but a lot has to do with popularity of the breed. The rates of attack of some other dogs are higher, but these are less-common breeds.

If Rottweilers were as common as pitbulls and as ill-trained, they would probably be just as vilified.

I've known two people who suffered severe dog bites, one from a pit and one from a Rott. The pit almost killed my neighbor and his dog. The dog lost a leg and the man was bitten all over while trying to protect his dog. The pit locked his jaw on the man's back and only let go when another neighbor bashed the pit with a shovel.

The only evil pitbulls are ones that are raised to be evil. Sadly too many people who get pitbulls are the types who want a mean dog. There are lots more people with pitbulls who have happy, well adjusted and sweet dogs.

by Anonymousreply 51November 23, 2021 12:28 AM

R51, 🙌

by Anonymousreply 52November 23, 2021 12:38 AM

r49 Not from the testicular cancer, almost from the puppy collar that he grew out of. It was strangling him. Heartbreaking to see.

BUT, he was always a little white trash. He earned the name Kenny (from South Park) for almost dying like 5 times from random misadventures. He liked trying to escape to run around. He found a stray girlfriend at one point, even though he was fixed, she would come around and jump the fence. I think she was eventually captured by the city, but he would try to escape to look for her. We had a taller fence installed - 8.5 feet, which only encouraged him to learn to jump higher with superdog agility. He could jump onto a low part of the roof which had to be almost 10 feet high. The skateboarding made him super buff.

He eventually escaped and we looked for him for two weeks, checked the pound etc. He was about 8 years old at that point. Some family members were sobbing. He was very endearing to everyone. Neighbors, my parents, friends.

So I have mixed feelings about pitbulls. They are similar to dalmations or whippets in that they need unrealistic amounts of exercise and attention. The are genuinely very strong. The kind of people who usually own them don't care for them, mistreat them, and don't run them. You need some property, fences, and they need some obedience training.

They are expensive. Kenny was the most expensive dog I ever owned. The food, the vet, and I had to bail him out of dog jail once, which cost $135 and was humiliating, because I like to think of myself as a conscientious dog owner. Letting a pitbull run wild isn't cool. It was stressful.

I have a whippet mutt now and it also needs crazy exercise just to be normal, and is actually a little more surly than Kenny. I have a family member with a small farm, and I have to take the dog there often to run around and herd random animals. Dog genetics dictate a lot of their behavior, along with being raised properly. I've never had a dog run away before. It was kinda traumatic, and I can imagine people seeing a buff fucking pitbull just strolling down the street and freaking out.

I would discourage most people from owning a pitbull unless they were aware of these conditions. Not a city dog at all Actually WANTING a dog that is capable of eating somebody is kind of a weird reason to want to own a dog, unless you run a junkyard in the South Side of Chicago, which is the meanest part of town.

by Anonymousreply 53November 23, 2021 12:50 AM

Kenny was chipped and had a collar with ID and city tags. I like to think he just skipped town looking for his dog girlfriend and found some other situation. If he was adopted by some people wanting him to be violent they are gonna be shit out of luck, because I never saw him even growl at anyone.

Never took him to a dogpark. Again, I always erred on the side of caution.

by Anonymousreply 54November 23, 2021 12:54 AM

by Anonymousreply 59November 23, 2021 1:28 AM

R51, you can't discount the fact that real fighting pitbulls have been line-bred for generations to be aggressive killers. To place blame exclusively on the dog owners is irresponsible (although A LOT of the blame is on them).

There absolutely is a genetic predisposition to this type of aggression, just as with other animals that have been bred for the abominable fighting/gambling market. For instance, wild Siamese fighting fish are not nearly as aggressive as those from domestic fighting stock. Same thing applies to cock fighting roosters...and, yes, dogs.

by Anonymousreply 60November 23, 2021 1:35 AM

The dog of peace strikes again.

“Pitbulls are responsible for many severe/fatal attacks, but a lot has to do with popularity of the breed. The rates of attack of some other dogs are higher, but these are less-common breeds.”

That is completely false. 46 U.S. dog bite-related fatalities occurred in 2020. Despite being regulated in Military Housing areas and over 900 U.S. cities, pit bulls contributed to 72% (33) of these deaths. Pit bulls make up about 6.2% of the total U.S. dog population.

I was watching a comedy special of this comedian I like and he started talking about his pit bull. I shut it off. I'll never watch him again

by Anonymousreply 68November 23, 2021 3:10 AM

As mentioned, there are a lot of trashy people who own pit bulls, usually because they want to look tough and I'm sure those same people are likely not getting their dogs from respectable breeders but someone who constantly has their bitches in heat and breeding puppies, probably inter-breeding them as well.

by Anonymousreply 69November 23, 2021 3:18 AM

r62 Stats are interesting. I wrote about owning a pit bull (on accident, I always tell people that because it's embarrassing), and it had this crazy neck and back strength. Humans domesticated a really strong dog for pulling things. His favorite thing was pulling me for miles and miles on a skateboard.

So, do they bite more or bite better? That is the important question. I bet just way better at locking on and killing.

I believe owning any "killer" or security large breed should require a class, license or some other expensive hurdle.

A pitbull argument seems a lot like a gun argument. Do pitbulls kill people or do people pitbull owners kill people? Both right? If your dog is a dick in general (like barking all night) I blame YOU.

by Anonymousreply 70November 23, 2021 5:56 AM

[quote]I believe owning any "killer" or security large breed should require a class, license or some other expensive hurdle.

The breed should be banned and eventually eradicated (although I doubt this would ever happen)

by Anonymousreply 71November 23, 2021 12:14 PM

I hate them too.

The other day I saw a grown man pulled along almost to the point of falling when his pit saw a cat it wanted. A different man told me "Don't worry " as he was his barely under control dog. Had weapons secretly ready in case he list control

I walk with pepper spray, a collapsible baton, a pocketknife (thanks to DL I know to knife its anus ) and a large umbrella (could be used as a shield )

Most dogs need more than 2 quick walks a day to release their energy. I feel bad for so many large breed working dogs cooped up in tiny apartments, even a yard isn't enough to dispel their aggression and energy. These owners aren't playing or socializing with these dogs except maybe to play attacking games. Pits are never the darlings of the dog park , none are under their owners command or control, they have no place in this world anymore and certainly not in decent society

Food guarding issues

These dogs are not permitted in UK.

More people are attacked by French Poodles every year than pitbulls. The only difference is that the pitbull has more powerful jaws. Scoff all you want but pitbulls that are raised well and socialized with people and other animals are no more apt to attack than any other dog. As far as the pitbull chasing the cat, a chihuahua will do the same thing.

by Anonymousreply 85November 26, 2021 9:57 PM

But a French Poodle and certainly a Chihuahua aren't going to kill your ass!

by Anonymousreply 86November 26, 2021 10:09 PM

Poodles are a much more popular breed than Pitbulls so more attacks by poodles doesn’t mean poodles are more aggressive. I’d e willing to bet that 100% of people wold rather be attacked by a poodl than a pitbull. Pitbull apologists pull the dumbest shit out of their asses.

This is very true. We wanted a mid sized dog but when we lived in an apartment didn't adopt one, because we knew they needed exercise and get destructive when they don't get it.

Dogs like weims, labs etc are "working dogs" (as most dogs are) and have a drive to do something for a few hours a day.

I swear this site is full of some of the most fearful people on the internet who know little about the matters they're so terrified of. Anytime you people are helplessly afraid of something, you want the government to ban it or mandate it away from your delicate presence. It's bizarre as hell.

Dogs attack like this for one reason; poor training and ownership. It's really that simple. Frankly, Chow Chows are the most frequent biters. Pitbulls have higher bite pressure and do more damage. But Chow Chows statistically bite/attack the most often.

Certain people should just not own certain breeds as they require a lot of due diligence, exercise, and knowledge. The same applies for Belgian Malinois. That is another breed that an inexperienced, novice, dog owner should not get.

Get a grip.

If you want to encounter a truly worthless degenerate, familiarize yourself with Annie Hornish, Connecticut State Director for the Humane Society of the US. More than 2 years ago her shitbull, Dexter, mauled a 95-year-old woman to death and was ordered to be euthanized. She, of course, victim-blames and says the shitbull was provoked, and has been fighting the euthanization order ever since. Hopefully Dexter's worthless life will be snuffed out soon.

That girl says it’s time we show pit bulls are gentle.

[quote]We just had a baby on Weds night. Our terrier mix is completely uninterested in baby but the 5 y/o pit mix is hyper focused on baby. She won't calm down if baby is in the room. She just pants, similar to the way she pants when she's in the car and overexcited. She won't leave the area of wherever baby is. We have the back part of the house with the bedrooms gated off and she just stays sitting by the gate when baby is in her room.

[quote]She hasn't been outright aggressive towards baby yet, but I'm concerned it may progress. When I was sitting on the couch with baby she offers mostly gentle little licks and lots of sniffs. After she pulls away from baby she kind of clicks her teeth and licks her lips. I don't really know how to describe it. Her behavior kind of reminds of how she acts when we get home from the pet store and she can tell we have a new toy. I'm concerned she thinks baby is a new toy for her and obviously she can't treat baby like her dog toys.

[quote]Is this something to be concerned about or might she calm down? Is there anything I can do or is this cause for a dog behaviorist and/or rehoming?

Yet another horrific event:

"Kyleen Waltman, 38, was walking toward her home in Honea Path on the morning of March 21 when three dogs attacked her. A passerby soon found her in a ditch beneath the dogs and was able to get them off her and call for help.

The past 10 days have put Waltman's family through a roller coaster of emotion, filled with equally prevalent moments of hope and fear. Shortly after Waltman was airlifted to a hospital, doctors were forced to amputate both of her arms up to the shoulder and remove part of her colon. Her esophagus and spine also suffered injury, and her left leg is at risk of amputation if it doesn't begin to improve, according to family members."

She is still on life support. The passerby who got the dogs off the poor woman did it by firing his gun into the air. Again, just horrific.

I'm seriously going to get a concealed carry permit because of the number of pitbulls I've been noticing on the trails near my house. Even people with the best of intentions adopting these dogs from shelters have no idea how their 3 y/o pitbull was treated and why it's in the animal shelter. I'm not going to be their experiment.

[quote]WTF? You can’t just kill someone’s family member.

Pets aren't family members. Humans are.

He says Buc, a rescue Pitbull, has never been aggressive in the six years that they’ve had him.

“There was not a mean bone in that dog’s body, that dog would sleep with us every single night, and he loved grandma, very, very protective of grandma,” he added.

Dogs attack like this for one reason; poor training and ownership. It's really that simple."

So... genetics mean nothing? Go adopt a timber wolf pup and tell us how thatworks out for you. After all, dogs are just Canis lupus familiaris, a subspecies of wolves. I'm sure you will be fine. /s

Seriously, some people just repeat bullshit platitudes like "It's not the dog it's the owner" without thinking about it. If you go to adopt a puppy, you can see differencesin aggression, energy levels, and submissiveness to humans right from the start. Some dogs are just born bad the same way some people are born psychopaths.

I'm sure not every pit bull is bad but you can't predict which ones will suddenly snap and which will be friendly their whole life. And they can do way more damage than other breeds if they suddenly turn bad.
