Which major male superheroes have been portrayed by persons of color?

I can only think of Dean Cain as Superman.

by Anonymousreply 35November 24, 2021 11:48 AM

Jason Momoa would like a word with you, OP.

by Anonymousreply 1November 22, 2021 9:57 PM

Ooh, he can have a word with me too!

Is Aquaman a major super hero?

by Anonymousreply 3November 22, 2021 10:02 PM

T'Challa aka: Black Panther

Sam Wilson aka: Captain America/Falcon

Eric Brooks aka: Blade

James Rhodes aka: War Machine

by Anonymousreply 4November 22, 2021 10:03 PM

I’m not a comic book fan, but are Black Panther, Blade and War Machine major super heroes?

by Anonymousreply 5November 22, 2021 10:16 PM

Stirm is a major super hero. Catwoman is a major superheroine AND villainess.

by Anonymousreply 6November 22, 2021 10:21 PM

who the f*ck cares?? why do you have to stick POC everywhere?

by Anonymousreply 7November 22, 2021 10:22 PM

Skeletor, as a supervillain, because he's the color of a skeleton? Geez I don't know. Many superheroes were written in the 40s, 50s and 60s. What do you expect?

by Anonymousreply 8November 22, 2021 10:24 PM
Stirm

Oh my, a superhero I'm not familiar with.

Do tell.

by Anonymousreply 9November 22, 2021 10:37 PM

Stirm and Drang, the Teutonic duo

by Anonymousreply 10November 22, 2021 11:21 PM

What color is Dean Cain, anyway? Warm ivory? Creamy sunset?

by Anonymousreply 11November 22, 2021 11:34 PM

Catwoman was black way back in the 60s.

by Anonymousreply 12November 22, 2021 11:36 PM

Read the thread title. Meoooooooow.

by Anonymousreply 13November 22, 2021 11:41 PM

R13 An inspiration and a role model. Purrrrrrrr, Bat. Man.

by Anonymousreply 14November 22, 2021 11:48 PM

Pinsent.

by Anonymousreply 15November 23, 2021 12:50 AM
What color is Dean Cain, anyway? Warm ivory? Creamy sunset?

I would say ivory is a good descriptor.

by Anonymousreply 16November 23, 2021 2:30 AM

Cane's.
Is Aquaman a major super hero?

Yes, actually.

He had his own Saturday morning TV series in the 60s, and he was one of the five original Super Friends (with Superman, Batman, Robin, and Wonder Woman).

Spawn was a major male superhero. He was played by Michael Jai White.

by Anonymousreply 19November 23, 2021 5:07 AM

Blade? Spawn? Stirm? War Machine? These are major superheroes?

by Anonymousreply 20November 23, 2021 5:11 AM
I’m not a comic book fan, but are Black Panther, Blade and War Machine major super heroes?

Black Panther and Blade? Yes.

War Machine, kinda but not really?

You can add Spawn & Luke Cage to that list though. Ghost Rider has been in the past.

I'd consider them major heroes since they were popular enough to have their own films or in Luke Cage's case, a TV series.

by Anonymousreply 21November 23, 2021 5:13 AM

It seems like there is more diversity in superheroes than there is on the genres..

by Anonymousreply 22November 23, 2021 5:18 AM
Blade? Spawn? Stirm? War Machine? These are major superheroes?

You were [italic]explicitly[/italic] told Spawn was a major superhero when he was mentioned. Did you have trouble reading?

And it's Storm, not Stirm, and she's a member (and has frequently been the leader) of the most popular of all superhero teams, the X-Men.

Also, if we are going to mention major superheroines as well as male superheroes: Lynda Carter, who played Wonder Woman, is Hispanic.

by Anonymousreply 23November 23, 2021 5:32 AM

Tyler Hoechlin, who currently plays Superman in the Arrowverse, is very proud of his Native American heritage.

by Anonymousreply 24November 23, 2021 5:35 AM

What crawled up your ass and settled there, R23?

Helen Lawson!

Which major male superheroes have yellow skin?
Tom Hardy says Bane is Lantinx (🤮 who taught him that? Shame on you.)

That is awful.

by Anonymousreply 34November 24, 2021 12:16 AM

Luke Cage is the best Marvel product they've made. Genuinely an excellent show, could stand on it's own apart from any franchise.
