Scotty Beckett was nice looking, he could act and was a total clusterfuck

I wish my pappy was out of jail. That one always cracks me up. But I have to admit perhaps it’s a little cringe worthy these days.

This restored series on Blu-ray is really well done. I have the first three volumes. Remind me of Saturday afternoons and the matinee at The Bijou as a young lad. Popcorn was a nickel, and soda pop only a dime!

I think Stymie was my favorite. He was cute, funny, and always knew more than the other kids. He was the one they turned to for help with their problems and he always came through.
Little Spanky was utterly charming and hilarious but older Spanky was kind of insufferable. I can't watch the shorts made after Hal Roach sold them to MGM...the Mickey/Froggy years. They are awful.
The woman who taught all the kids through the years at the studio schoolhouse said that of all the kids, Allan "Farina" Hoskins was by far the smartest.

I liked the scenes with Darla in them the most. She was so cute and dainty.

You all wanted to do a young Robert Blake though. The fact he is a killer just makes him hotter to you all

The first ones were really good actors, Sunshine Sammy, Mary Korman, Joe Cobb and Mickey Daniels. Each generation, with the exception of Spanky, got progressively worse.

This was just released on Blu Ray and is a really fantastic restoration.
