Pro: Julio, who lives on N. Harper. VERY professional - and affordable.
Con: Julio's brother Simone, who lives with Julio, did three years. Also affordable, and/but a little rough, if that's your preference or not.

Tower Records closing tooth-pulled some of its soul

West Hollywood is one of the few parts of LA - and even the state of California - where there is activity seven nights a week.
Every night there are people at restaurants, bars, walking dogs, jogging, at the grocery stores. Much of Southern California is made up of early-to-bedroom communities.

If you like a variety of neighbors, don't move to West Hollywood. It's a Gay Ghetto.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | November 20, 2021 11:22 PM |
My friend (he died) used to live there, but he moved to Miami. He said the tacky, criminal Russian and Albanian element had made living there awful.
Is that true?

You may bump into Bret Easton Ellis.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | November 20, 2021 11:39 PM |
I think it’s the most NY walkable neighborhood in LA.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | November 21, 2021 1:12 AM |
R15 - and that's important. Most of the rest of LA, you have to drive everywhere but then...there's no parking! Fucking nightmare.

The street scene isn't all that lively most of the day and most days of the week. Granted the bar is low in LA.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | November 21, 2021 4:02 PM |
If you live there parking is not such a big issue. It's very walkable and public transportation is good.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | November 21, 2021 4:22 PM |
Are there any lesbian bars in Weho?
by Anonymous | reply 24 | November 21, 2021 11:47 PM |
r23 The only public transportation in WeHo is the bus.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | November 22, 2021 4:06 AM |

R28 are you hosting for Thanksgiving?
by Anonymous | reply 29 | November 22, 2021 5:38 PM |
Though WeHo has a somewhat definitive western edge at Beverly Hills line, the eastern edge blends with Holllywood - so Cambridge analogy doesn’t quite work. Maybe DuPont circle in DC where the western edge becomes purely residential in Kalorama. The gay area is more defined though - maybe 7 blocks by 6.

And the free Cityline shuttle.

R13, I think he must mean Armenian instead of Albanian, but they're more in East Hollywood, Glendale, and the Valley. But yes, West Hollywood does have a significant Russian-speaking community.

I assume A LOT of DataLoungers live in West Hollywood

The Russians here suck. They own a bunch of fake store fronts on santa monica between Fairfax and La Brea that need to be annihilated to make room for actual new businesses. They’re all collecting money from the government too.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | November 24, 2021 4:41 AM |
“Gay ghetto,” and everything it entails.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | November 24, 2021 5:34 AM |
The Russians have been there for decades. Nothing new.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | November 24, 2021 3:32 PM |
The egos are huge and narcissism is rampant.. I don’t know anybody in a monogamous relationship or a relationship for that matter.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | November 24, 2021 3:35 PM |
Pro: Lots of "gorgeous" men
Con: You're invisible if you are just "good looking"
by Anonymous | reply 39 | November 24, 2021 5:47 PM |
What's going on in West Hollywood tonight?
by Anonymous | reply 40 | November 26, 2021 11:47 PM |
Pros - It still fun.
Cons - Str8s took over 10 or more years ago. Tons on them with their kids taking up a lot of room. Plus, single str8 chicks only think of gays as play toys for social media. " Like, look everyone. I'm into equality!"
by Anonymous | reply 41 | November 26, 2021 11:53 PM |
Pro: it's close to airports
Con: everything else.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | November 27, 2021 12:03 AM |
WeHo is close to airport? Hmmm - not sure about that.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | November 27, 2021 1:28 AM |
70% of men who live there are plastic surgery victims or play hard with injections. Mostly younger gays now.
