Grindr: what's nearby vs. fresh categories?
Recently joined Grindr as a non-paying member, thus have access to just some profiles.
I browse it occasionally during the week, but am still confused by the "nearby" category vs. the one to its right called "fresh."
What's the difference? Why aren't all of the profile photos simply displayed in a single category?
And what does the little blue symbol appearing on some of the photos mean?
Aaargh! It shouldn't be this difficult after using it as much as I have, even though a recent member.
...
And should I bother to pay for one of their two memberships? I am not looking to hook up at 61 and fat, but simply curious to search photos and profiles.

I think 'fresh' means new profiles

"Nearby" are the guys who are located closest to you. "Fresh" are the new members who just joined (like yourself) and are also located in your area (or close to it). After a few days, the guys you see listed under "Fresh" will migrate over to the "Nearby" side.

Fresh means their holes haven't been turned out yet. Duh.

"Fresh" as in "fresh meat" for the pack.
