R16 I don't disagree. I think Ann Curry's talents would have been better used elsewhere by NBC. Ann Curry had already been on the Today Show as news anchor for 15 years by the time she got the big chair, and had been passed over once before during the Couric-to-Vieira transition. Those five years during Meredith's time on the show was the network's window of opportunity to find alternate platforms to move Curry off Today before another anchor transition inevitably came around.

To summarize: Matt Lauer remains a giant asshole and I hope it stings every day for him to know that he is now widely reviled. He richly deserves it.
