This may have been a tv movie but it was a VERY good tv movie. Aiden Quinn was supposed to be the DREAMBOAT in this movie but I prefer the gruffness of his DADDY played by Ben Gazzara and the doctor played by Terry O Quinn. Gena Rowlands was excellent as the mother.
Were there multiple Terry Quinn's in the guild?

D.W. Moffett was certainly the go to actor for the gay boyfriend. He played practically the same part in The Normal Heart opposite Brad Davis.

It was brave of Quinn to take the role. He had just broken thru. I think Desperatly Seeking Susan came out right around this time.
