How is JCPenney holding on?

Of the last big old school department stores, JCP is hanging on. How are they doing it?

What is Macy's? Not big? Not old school? Saks is from 1857. Lord & Taylor, 1826.

Old school Macys, Saks and L&T are different than JCP.

JCP is a vision of health compared to barely hanging on Sears.

They keep listing a store in Willow Grove PA as a full line department store, when it hasn't been one for at least five years. They subleased the top two floors to Primark and the ground level only sells appliances and auto parts. When you only have 20 stores and you can't even keep that information correct, it doesn't bode well for the future.
