R284 I don't get the way some people think of Cruel Intentions as a great classic. Its rating on Rotten Tomatoes is 55 percent, and that's about how I've always seen the movie. I was 20 when it came out and I saw it as a campy teen movie with the clever twist of the teens presenting themselves as grownups. Clueless is one of my favorite movies, and it ain't no clueless.

He was OK in it. I have discussed here before that I have a bias against his acting because of how he speaks, and over the years I have come to realize that it may actually be a Delaware dialect. I had a coworker from Delaware who was really, really smart, but she spoke with a similar marblemouth effect that I hear when Ryan opens his mouth.

His best movie featured what I thought was a pretty decent performance in a pretty bad role, which was his role in Gosford Park. His casting in that movie is brilliant.
