I've heard repeatedly that no one smells better than Rihanna, which I could easily believe. I always think Daniel Craig must also smell elegant and classy.
I always imagine Paris Hilton stinks of a mix of her sugary perfumes and yeast infections.

I don't know who smells good but my guess is Brad Pitt smells bad, weed and B.O.

Best - Michael Douglas and CZJ, Oprah, Giorgio Armani, GOOP (I hate her but I will admit this), Oscar Isaac
Worst - J Lo and Susan Sarandon and Elton John (I imagine them all drenched in scent), Keanu Reeves (I love him but I suspect BO), Frances McDormand (same), Judd Apatow and his pothead gang, Jon Hamm and Johnny Depp (alcohol fumes)

Worst: Bieber.

Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis say they do not bathe or shampoo regularly, so they must surely stink. Johnny Depp, Keith Richards, Robert Pattinson are reported to be smelly.

When Rihanna was on Graham Norton with Nigella Lawson, Nigella said that RiRi smelled incredible.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | November 13, 2021 6:18 PM |
It shocked me to discover that Rihanna apparently most often wears the perfume LOVE (DON’T BE SHY) by Kilian— a scent that I find shamelessy trashy and basic and bubblegum-bitchy.
To my nose, it is a rancid combo of smells—plastic doll-heads melting in a SweetTart flavour McFlurry cup left in a hot car for weeks, old rotting makeup (I imagine of of Jeffree Starr’s cluttered spare rooms full of unwanted out-of-date promotional trash) that a housecat has long ago pissed on, and cheap floral shampoo spilt on a bar of citrus soap at grandma’s house.
She must be one of the few who can pull off wearing such a sickly musty concoction. Either that, or she’s really healthy with great skin chemistry and her pheromones do the heavy lifting. Or she uses very high-quality nice-smelling lotions and soaps to wash with.

Tom Ford. I bet he experiments his fragrances on himself.

I think Harry Styles probably smells good if he really uses Gucci Memoire (love that scent).
And Johnny Depp (Mr. Stench) really must be one of the worst.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | November 14, 2021 4:35 AM |
R9 You really can't judge a scent until a person actually wears it. Some people just have a natural chemistry that changes things.
A cologne counter gay working in Nieman's once picked me up because he said I smelled divine. He wanted to know what I was wearing, he was shocked when I told him it was just some David Beckham cologne I had bought at Walgreens. I ended up going home with him. He sprayed me with various luxury colognes and would spend forever just smelling me, because he said my natural chemistry transformed every scent into something more than it was.
It was a very fun yet fragrant night/morning/afternoon.

Drew Barrymore probably smells like patchouli or china rain or some other hippy dippy scent.

Best: I imagine Emmylou Harris smells lovely, her hair and flowy dress gently wafting her bespoke fragrance about the venue.
Worst: Steve "The Walking Chancre" Bannon. Smells of the Ganges during high pilgrimage season + Town drunk lying on his back in the gutter, rum vomit splashes dotting his 3 shirts.

An acquaintance of mine is a perfumier. He told me that dry skin types can't hold perfume and the scent comes across as simplistic (if you're so affected, you need to layer with other scented products), whereas oily skin types absorb and enhance the perfume or aftershave fragrance notes leading to a richer and longer-lasting performance. I can attest to this - I only spray once, first thing, and it lasts all day. Rihanna's probably the same.
As for stinky celebrities - does bad breath count? If so, I nominate Ben Affleck!
by Anonymous | reply 26 | November 14, 2021 10:16 AM |
Best: I imagine Catherine O'Hara is always beautifully scented. She just looks like the kind of woman who moisturizes and applies a light spritz of something elegant.
Worst: Lens Dunham. She just looks like she has a perpetual cloud of tinned stew and unwashed ass crack floating around her.

Thanks Jaguar/R26, that’s really useful insider info to know.
Count me among those afflicted with the dry skin (Caucasian/anaemia/flaky, the worst) that eats perfume inside of an hour. If I want to have an all-day/night scent, then every morning I have to bathe with fragranced soap (bad for my already awful skin!) and layer on a lot of scented deodorant and/or lotion which gets reapplied later. It’s ridiculous.
And such a pity, as I adore wearing and collecting and appreciating niche and complex and high-end scents. Couldn’t be more envious of those Rihannas of the world who not only look young and plump/freshskinned forever thanks to the abundant oils in their skin, but can also wear any scent and get full enjoyment of all the notes. It’s just not fair, is it!

I forget who said this, but evidently RDJ smells like gingerbread.
GOOP has that freshly steamed appearance. At least she's clean.
I imagine Jodie Foster is pretty spruce in the smells department.
Linda Evans always looked as if she would smell of elegant perfume.
Marjorie Taylor Greene smells like flop sweat and wet cat food.
Donald Trump stinks of rancid pancake make-up and fresh sharts.
I imagine Johnny Depp has a sink-drain disposal unit pong, mostly flowing from the abandoned sewer that is his mouth.
Seth Rogan and James Franco both look like they smell like a gym bag.

Remember that bag of old cosmetics your mother or grandmother kept? When you were working on a Halloween costume, or needed something for the school play, and they'd dig it out and rummage through for cold cream or nail polish remover... that's what Kelly Ann Conway smells like.

In my professional opinion a fan of fragrance, football, and fairly stupid men...
Jack Grealish is an Invictus Aqua bubblegum-bitch if ever there was, possibly rotated with Eros Flame, to keep things chilly yeah geez? These vile cheap fuckboy staple scents mix on his skin with the smell of coke-sweat, dry p*ssy juice from the lucky wench du jour, and the booze he is technically forbidden to be drinking if he wants to keep playing top-flight football past age 28. Besides the traditional choice of scent, he also likes a pour femme scent (stolen from vanity desks of the women he pumps and dumps) on himself too—bet the cheeky little sket layers Mugler Angel+Kilian Love Don’t Be Shy on top of his rancid cologne (when he remembers to wear it).
By contrast, our respectable skipper Hendo struggles to experiment with scent beyond the half-empty Polo bottles in his Boring Traditional Xtian Dad life. He really does just smell like early middle-age weariness and denial, as well as a grassy muddy English pitch and comfortable domesticity (laundry, kids’ shampoo, cleaning products, home cooking). However, that has potential to change—recently, at his adopted son Trent’s insistence, he wore Tom Ford Extreme for a rare brief appearance at a team night out, and when he walked in, Jack got one sniff of it blended with natural pheromone and instantly automatically dragged him in the bathroom then dropped to his knees. There’s hope for him, yet.

Jamie Lee Curtis smells of fresh kale.
Sigourney Weaver smells like a bracing hike through the morning mist in the Adirondacks.
Amy Adams smells of toasted meringue.
Chris Evans smells of wood shavings and anti-depressants.
Elijah Wood smells like a Keebler factory. He's quite aware of it, as photos show.
Steve Bannon smells of sour-mash whiskey and unwiped asshole.
Greta Thunberg smells of asparagus piss.

Rihanna is noted as being the best smelling celebrity. There was some video during the launch of her perform that had like twenty other celebrities commenting on various red carpets and talk shows over the years how good she smells.
I love a good fragrance. I wear Creed's Aventus and I have literally been stopped in the street by strangers asking me what I have on. It is mostly women who stop and turn around, so it must be geared to them. I was on a plane once sitting in the window seat. There was a woman next to me who at the end of the flight told me her husband, who was sitting in front of her, wanted to change seats at the start of the flight. But she said I smelled so good she didn't want to move. I told her what I was wearing so she could buy it for him. Creed Aventus just transforms nicely on so many different types of skin. I have given it to friends and all of them report back to me similar experiences - people stopping them. It smells like money and the promise of good clean sex with your favorite crush.

R39 doesn’t HM The Queen occasionally wear Floris White Rose? That’s a strong, crisp and briskly clean, direct, and yet elegantly feminine and romantic scent. HM is also said to be very fond of D.R. Harris Almond bath products, as well as a good old stalwart classic bar of Pear's soap.
Lady Di favoured Penhaligon’s Bluebell. Fresh woodland carpets of bluebells in the wild give the most beautiful aroma on Earth, like how one would imagine angel’s breath to smell.
Kate on the other hand wears Jo Malone Orange Blossom, which is a very pretty and agreeable but rather blah perfume.
