New poll finds the 5 most hated comedians in America—and Dave Chappelle isn't one of them
When it comes to who is the most disliked, 20 percent of respondents disliked Cosby; 15 percent disliked Schumer; 11 percent disliked DeGeneres; 9 percent disliked Roseanne Barr; and 6 percent disliked Dennis Miller.
Cosby was released from prison earlier this year after a court ruled that evidence used to secure his 2018 sexual assault conviction violated his due process rights. Sixty women have accused Cosby of sexual assault, including rape that goes back to the 1960s.
"In a strong case for gender-based discrimination in the comedy world, the next three most hated comedians after Bill Cosby were all women: Amy Schumer, Ellen DeGeneres, and Roseanne Barr. Even Louis C.K., who was also the subject of several sexual misconduct allegations, was disliked less often," Buddy TV wrote.

Even before reading, I knew Amy Schumer would be on the list.

Should be on the list: Carlos Mencia, Dane Cook, Louis CK and Russell Brand.

Probably because she is in the main article's photo, R1?

It's pretty pathetic when the numbers are so close. You'd think it would be 90% hate Cosby.

I doubt they were on the poll, it sounds like people were given a list to respond to.
Brand has some kind of Q loon podcast these days so the loonies love him. Cook and Mencia are completely forgotten.

I don’t get the hate for Amy Schumer.

Amy is the only one on the list who hasn’t been officially “cancelled”. What gives?

I'm wondering the same thing about Schumer. I don't find her funny, but I don't dislike her. What did she supposedly do to earn this enmity that's anywhere near the level of a convicted serial rapist?

Of course Chapelle isn’t the most hated. He speaks the absolute truth, and everyone knows it, even if they don’t admit it. He’s a legend and will be remembered for decades.

Who's worse, Amy Schumer or her uncle Chuck Schumer?

Amy Schumer has never been funny and the only reason she got anywhere is because of her association with Chuck

Is Amy still even a comedian? It seems as if all she does now is get pregnant and prattle on endlessly about fertility, like she finally achieved the goal of every dumb girl from Long Island.

Only 20 percent disliked date rape drug sneak Cosby? How is the even possible? Just imagine what that must have looked like, his trousers around his ankles, grunting as he pumped away at a woman drooling and unconscious. It’s beyond fucking disgusting.
Twenty percent?
Why is Amy Schumer only five points behind him? And why is she on the list at all? For being plump?

James Corden, Jimmy Fallon, Stephen Colbert, Bill Maher, and John Oliver should be the top 5 hated. I don't know why people still cling to these awful shows. The genre should have died with Letterman.

[quote]Entertainment website Buddy TV asked more than 1,000 Americans, from Generation Z to Baby Boomers, about their "thoughts on today's comedy scene." The poll asked respondents how they felt about some of the most-well known comedians to see who is considered the most popular, liked, disliked and offensive.
[quote]The site surveyed 1,124 people, most of whom were millennials and men. According to the results, the most well-known comedians are Bill Cosby, Robin Williams, Ellen DeGeneres, Amy Schumer, Kevin Hart and Chappelle.
Not a real study. Internet polls are not reflections of public opinion.

That's such bullshit that Ellen is on there. She was apparently loved one day and then hated the next. I think someone had a hit out for her.

The world hates women as much as rapists. No news here. Actually, there is news because, in reality, the world as a whole hates women more than rapists.

I first saw Amy Schumer on season 3 of Last Comic Standing and she was funny and refreshing back then.
Speaking of LCS, most comedians are angry, bitter, tormented, fucked up head cases behind the laughing exterior.

Amy's comedy show Inside Amy Schumer has some really funny sketches. Her last comedy special was shit, though.

The first season of Schumer's show was laugh-out-loud hilarious.
Reddit HATES her because she was funny. And not a size four.
The whole "she's a joke stealer" thing, I went down a rabbit hole on all that and yeah, there were a few instances where she said similar things to other comedians but it wasn't her really funny stuff. It was canned basic humor, shit you and I would say. It wasn't any blatant theft of IP. I don't think she'd still be so friendly with, and respected by, fellow comics if the joke-stealing were real.
I'm not a huge fan, I just always thought it was curious how much vitriol was directed her way when she seems like a pretty decent human.

the first two seasons of inside amy schumer were funny, partly because she had a great supporting/recurring cast, but the 3rd season was hit or miss and the 4th season was shit. The two movies she did were forgettable because her shtick just didn't go anywhere: I'm a non-skinny slut who drinks a lot and won't apologize for it! Ok, we get it, but that's not so funny or interesting after the umpteenth time., especially for gay audiences, though for obvious reasons a gay male comedian could never find mainstream success talking about bodily functions and promiscuity. The song/music video she did with Amber Rose, "Milk Milk Lemonade" was kind of funny until you realize the entire point of the song is to denigrate people who like ass.

Wasn’t Mencia “cancelled” a while ago, R2? There was a Dane Cook thread not too long ago, he’s seen better days.

So is Carlos Mencia, R11.

Carols Mencia and Dane cook have not been famous in years. I doubt the public would have strong opinions on them one way or the other. Louis CK has a lot of people convinced he did nothing wrong and he was the victim.

I'm not a big Amy Schumer fan but she doesn't deserve this amount of dislike.
[quote]"In a strong case for gender-based discrimination in the comedy world, the next three most hated comedians after Bill Cosby were all women: Amy Schumer, Ellen DeGeneres, and Roseanne Barr.
Strange how the article waited until the end to point out
[quote]Barr has been "canceled" twice in different generations: In 1990, she intentionally sang "The Star-Spangled Banner" horribly, grabbed her groin and spat toward the audience. In 2018, during the resurgence of her TV show, she posted a racist tweet about Valerie Jarrett, a Black senior adviser to former President Obama.
After calling it gender based discrimination. You can say that about Amy but Roseanne had issues. My father hated her for the National Anthem thing for years.
Ellen had Hollywood finally get together and collectively tell her to stop being mean behind the scenes. Otherwise she associated with the wrong people. You can't have sexual harassers working on your show and if you somehow didn't know about it, it's still your fault for not being accessible enough so that people felt they could tell you.
Louis CK should have been higher but I'd say his placement is also a result of time passing with the disgusting Cosby case still being front and center every few months in the headlines. Also the Ellen thing(s) happened after. He should be right next to him.
But Amy, Amy doesn't deserve that.
